The Cohen Cruise Line and Caliendo resort are merging. Emma Caliendo and her sister, Izzy, set sail on the maiden voyage to be two of the faces of this new resort venture. Izzy is up for fun in the sun, but Emma wants to steer clear of the Cohen men, who are nothing but a bunch of womanizers. She’s especially keen on avoiding Grayson Cohen.
Grayson, a childhood acquaintance, is now an arrogant, self-centered ladies’ man whose face is plastered all over the cruise’s advertising campaign. Emma can’t seem to turn a corner without seeing his stupid, conceited face.
Nevertheless, when Grayson starts seeking her out, platonic badgering becomes sexual teasing and Emma discovers she’s not as repelled by Grayson as she thought. In fact, she can’t help but notice the real man beneath the haughty exterior.
Suddenly, a three-week cruise fling with a Cohen man is exactly what she desires, but will walking away from him when it’s all over be as easy as she’s convinced herself?

Man angst, yes, man angst and it is brought to you by Shannyn Leah in Sunset Sail. Don’t think I am making fun of a man filled with angst, because Grayson has earned every bit of his, and then some. His bride cheated on him with the one man he should be able to trust and believe in, no matter what and it was only three days after they married. No wonder he has become a manwhore, no emotions, just wild and crazy sex and poof, his partners are gone, no muss, no fuss. And then, his Kryptonite walked on board the maiden voyage of the family cruise line.
Emma has a reputation of being brilliant, serious, standoffish and maybe a little frigid. Grayson wants her, not forever but for a night or two, because he never does commitments, ever. When friendly banter takes on a sexual undertone, Grayson is about to learn that Emma pulls no punches, she has a tongue as sharp as a dagger and her aim is often too true. So why won’t he be honest and admit he has feelings for Emma? She is the first true “friend” Grayson has ever had, but he can see her heart is getting involved and he is positive she deserves better than him. So, what is the answer? Will he do his usual hit and run, leaving Emma shattered or is she even stronger than he is, possibly turning the tables on him?
Love, crazy love, and Shannyn Leah is serving up another hot dish of Caliendo passion as one more Caliendo takes the Love Boat to turmoil, drama and sizzling, sensual heat. Moments of humor, moments of fun and moments of high energy tension as two people find that the merger of their respective companies is nothing compared to the merger of their hearts.
I received an ARC edition from Shannyn Leah in exchange for my honest review.

Sunset Sail is the third book in the Caliendo Resort series. The resort has been working on a merger with the Cohen Cruise line and there is a three week cruise to finalize things. You will love the heat, passion and the combustion of these two people. The Caliendo's are a great family with siblings that protect each other and challenge each other and mostly love one another. If you haven't started the series, you can pick it up here and then get caught up later. But you should get to know them.
Emma Caliendo is known to be set in her ways and clear about who she wants to stay clear of. Especially when he is a womanizer and a tease. He keeps teasing her about them making magic together but she is very leery of the reputation that Grayson has. When she finds out more about the real Grayson Cohen, she finds herself more tempted than she ever imagined.
I love the humor that Shannon Leah meshes into her really sizzling stories. She makes the characters more alive and she makes me want to really get to know them and hang out with them. I have enjoyed all the stories in both series. They have been showing up since the beginning and teasing us to know more about them. I was glad to see Emma get her story told. What a great book it is. This is another winning book. Deserving the 5 stars that I am capped at giving, I could have happily gone much higher.
I absolutely loved Emma's character. Classy, funny and not afraid to speak her mind. This story was very cute and even though at first I didn't care much for Grayson. I warned to him halfway through the story. Great story.
I really enjoyed this “sort of” enemies to lovers story!
Emma is not a fan of Grayson. He’s a complete womanizer and she intends to ignore him completely on the cruise she’s been forced to attend as her family and his go into a merger. What she’s not prepared for is his witty nature and his warm charm or the way her heart and body react to him.
Grayson has a past that is steeped in deception. He will never give his heart to a woman. Yet, when the opportunity to have a friends-with-benefits cruise affair with Emma presents itself, he throws himself completely into it. As long as Emma doesn’t allow her feelings to get involved, everything will be fine and they will go their separate ways at the end of the cruise.
I totally understood Emma’s judgement of Grayson as that was the only persona he presented to the world. But I cheered as she began to open herself to the possibility that there was so much more to him than what was on the surface. Grayson had a lot, a LOT, to overcome and my heart hurt for him and for the sucky hand he had been dealt.
There’s a lot of family drama here along with some other woman drama as well. The writing has a very nice pace and it never felt bogged down. The steam factor is mild and is fade to black. Secondary characters shine and truly add to the total enjoyment of the story. I would have liked a nice epilogue but as the series continues I’m hoping we get a further glance at how this couple manage to make a relationship on land work for them.
Altogether, a very nice read that isn’t heavy with angst but has just enough to keep the story moving.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
5 Star Review Sunset Sail is the 3rd book in The Caliendo Resort Series and I have to say its my favourite. Its set on the high seas on a 3 week business/ holiday cruise. This story has romance, a manwhore, a sassy girl and friends and siblings who only want only the best for each other plus its full of humor at times I laughed till I cried especially at the "Naughty Bingo". This is the perfect summer beach read or the perfect curled up around a fire read. I was hooked from the first to the last page and cant wait for more from Shannyn Leah
As one of the middle children in a family of six siblings, it’s easy for Emma to stay out of the spotlight and let the world see her as the nerdy, bookish, goody-two-shoes she willingly portrays, rather than a business woman in her family's luxury resort. Grayson Cohen, of the Cohen Cruise Lines Cohen’s, is the guy with his face gracing billboards and a different woman on his arm each night. Dear arrogant, egotistical, shallow, playboy Grayson. Or maybe that’s the façade he shows to the world in order to keep safely hidden the broken hearted little boy who lost his mother when he was far too young.
Grayson and Emma have a love/hate relationship. He loves to needle her and get under her skin, and she hates to even give him the time of day unless it's in the form of a verbal smack down to put him in his place. With the Caliendos and Cohens considering a business partnership and spending three weeks together at sea, Grayson and Emma will be in each other's company far more than usual. But when Grayson allows himself to be friends with Emma, something he’s never done with anyone before, she has a way of sneaking inside and filling up his empty places.
I’ve said it before, soap operas and telenovelas have nothing on these Caliendos, and now we can include the Cohens in that statement, as well. It’s pretty much a given that any book that features the Calliendos will be a romping great read, but this one is a little heavier on heartfelt and a little lighter on shenanigans than the other books. Of course, anytime Izzy shows up, there are guaranteed outrageous comments that will have you laughing out loud, but there was just something about Grayson's character that took this book to a deeper level.
It was quickly apparent there was something more to Grayson than what he portrayed to the world, and Emma was astute enough to see behind his mask. Emma was a fantastic character and I loved watching the journey to forever with these two. Yes, they had great chemistry, but they also brought out the best in each other. It wasn’t an easy journey, by any means, but Emma had a way of cutting through the betrayal and pain in Grayson's past, confronting the demons head-on, and facilitating the healing Grayson and his family so desperately needed. The series wouldn’t be complete without Emma's story, and I think this book with its humor, steam and boatload of heart is my favorite so far.
*I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
And here I thought the Caliendo family was dysfunctional! When Emma embarks on a cruise to solidify the business merger between the Cohens and the Caliendos, she is determined to stay away from Grayson Cohen if at all possible. His reputation as a playboy is not something that Emma wants to deal with but the best laid plans quickly go awry! Before you know it Emma is proposing a friends with benefits scenario that also goes awry. This was a fun contemporary romance in the Caliendo Resorts series that can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. I really enjoyed how outspoken Emma was even though she is the Caliendo sibling that is always more comfortable in the background. Apparently she just needed a reason to speak up, namely Grayson Cohen. Seems like a pretty good reason to me!
This might be the third book in the series but for me this is my favourite so far and that takes some doing because the others have been sitting pretty high up the pecking order. The resort is all set to move on to bigger and better things, their merger is going ahead and they’re all beginning to get their heads around what exactly that is going to mean for them. This is a family that don’t leave anything to chance. They have it all sown up and that is just the way they like it. So in order to finalise all the terms and conditions between themselves and Cohen Cruise Line there is a little bit of schmoozing to be under taken. Now if I was offered a three-week cruise as part of my families upcoming fabulous business deal you would have to nail me down because I would be shimming my a** aboard that ship before you could bat an eyelid…but Emma Caliendo isn’t me and she has other things on her mind. Namely how to avoid Grayson Cohen and his womanising ways. I like Emma and her family, I like the way they are so tight together, so connected, they are what you would want the perfect book family to be but Grayson could very well throw a spanner in Emma’s carefully laid out plans, he has the ability to addle her brain and she knows it and that is a feeling that she is not coping with that at all because Emma is firmly entrenched in her ways, everyone knows she likes things done a certain way and she has buttons that you just don’t want to push, but knowing her limitations and tolerance means nothing when she is struggling to keep her burgeoning desire for the delicious Grayson at bay. Temptation is a b*tch but Grayson has it down to an art form. But I almost forgave him because he had a fairly unequivocal reason for being the way he was. He was hurt in the most painful of ways…being on the receiving end of a cheating spouse is horrific but when the ink on your marriage certificate is barely dry, it adds additional angst to an already raw wound, so it was no surprise that still reeling after his heartache, he wrapped his heart up so tight and unleashed is man**ore, with a new found commitment to a lack of commitment, he went through women like a duck through water…wham, bam thank you mam and don’t let the door get you on the a** on your way out! But Grayson has an Achilles heel, a woman that could bring him to his knees…Emma so when she set foot on the ship, this trip took on a whole new perspective. While he might not be looking for a woman to warm his bed for the rest of his life, there certainly were plenty of evenings on board that he would be delighted to keep her company. Surely one or two nights was perfectly within reason? Emma was a feisty, devil of a woman who was perfectly comfortable in a man’s world and while she was as sharp as a tack, she used her no nonsense attitude as a barrier that screamed to everyone to stay well back. But Grayson pushes her buttons, he is able to engage her in what turns pretty quickly into sexy banter. I liked the fact they challenged each other, I knew where this was going but the destination wasn’t what I was looking forward too…it was what they were going to have to go through to get there that appealed to me. Grayson knew what he was going to have to deal with, Emma wasn’t going to make it easy on him but would he make it easy on himself? Would he see that he deserved to be happy and that Emma could be the woman that he could find that happiness with or would he continue to self-deprecate and allow his past to destroy his future? Or will she beat him to the punch?

(This book was reviewed by Cathy Stansell from Rochelle's Reviews)
The Caliendo resort and the Cohen cruise line are merging. The final preparations are going to be made on this three week cruise. This is an exciting and changing time for these families (the Caliendo's and Cohen's) to finalize it all.
In Sunset Sail (Grayson and Emma's story), Grayson is a playboy and therefore Emma wants to avoid him as much as possible. He has his reasons for being a playboy and I actually understood why he was. He is not going to take a chance and let another love hurt him. So he gets close enough to get what he wants and then it is goodbye. Emma, on the other hand, is a little devilish in her ways but she knows what she wants and it is anything but a womanizer like Grayson. Still, he has his little ways of getting to her even when she tries to ignore him. Unfortunately (or should I say... fortunately) he is persistent and patient and he just keeps on. The two are so good together first as friends all the way to lovers in the span of a short 3 weeks.
Shannyn Leah is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She makes you fall in love with the characters because they are realistic in their flaws. I already love this family from the first two books in this series. They are an extremely close knit group. They make you cry, laugh because of the crazy things they do. Dirty Bingo anyone?
Shannyn Leah has done it again! Sunset Sail by Shannyn Leah is captivating from the first page to the last. I love sassy, snarky women characters and Ms Leah has delivered! Emma and Grayson's story was such fun to read that I read it all in one sitting. The characters in this book are well developed and my favorite thing about the book. Ms Leah has added plenty of humor, drama and spice to round out this fantastic story. I loved reading Sunset Sail, the humor was outstanding, and I look forward to reading more from the talented Shannyn Leah soon. Sunset Sail is part of The Caliendo Resort Series and By The Lake Series but can be read as a standalone. I suggest reading the other books also so you don't miss any of the fun. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I received a copy of this book for review purposes.
** ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. **
Shannyn Leah has done it again with another book hitting my elusive 5-star rating! This time instead of the drama and mystery surrounding the Caliendo file room, the will-they or won't-they or have-they-already cat and mouse between Emma and Grayson takes place on the high seas during a three-week business/vacation cruise. I laughed so hard throughout this book my throat burned and stomach hurt. Two words, no, make that two sets of two words, can easily summarize this book. Silver Fox. Naughty Bingo. And both will make you overheat.
Loved it! Though, for me it kinda ended abruptly and I found myself wanting to read more, like how the rest of both of their families reacted to Emma and Grayson being together. But, I guess we'll find out in the next book? :) Naughty Bingo was my favourite and I think I'll have to be playing that with some of my girlfriends.
Still wish Samantha would have been thrown overboard, but hey that's just me. I'm interested in when we finally get to Melissa's book. Because I can't stand her ass and I enjoy not liking her :) Looking forward to the next book Shannyn! It was a great, fun read :)
What makes a man become a playboy, the king of one night stands? What can make him change & settle down with just one woman? Shannyn Leah gives you a story that answers those questions in Sunset Sail, book 3 in The Caliendo Resort. Emma Caliendo thinks she is the quiet, boring one of the family. After all, when she was in college & tutored Grayson Cohen, he really didn't try to do more than flirt. The Caliendo & Cohen families were working on a deal that would involve the Cohen cruise ships & the Caliendo resorts. To announce it, a journalist & a photographer are going to be on the same cruise that Emma & Izzy & two friends are going to be on. They are looking to interview both families.
Grayson Cohen has always been attracted to Emma Caliendo but doesn't think she'll agree to his terms. He doesn't feel he deserves happiness or an HEA after he lost his mother when he was younger. He refused to leave with her after his parents fought & before they could talk about it, she died. After that, his father changed & slept with everything in skirts. Grayson is following in his steps. After marrying someone while drunk, Grayson caught her sleeping with his dad. Now he doesn't trust any female. So what's so different about Emma? Why does she get under his skin?
Even though this book is book 3 in the series, I really feel it could be read as a stand alone. Each book seems to give you enough background to figure out the players & the story. Emma comes across as quiet & retiring but once she knows you, she's anything but. Her personality comes across as sweet but she is more than that. Her interactions are fun, reading, flirty, sarcastic & funny. Grayson was easy to dislike in the beginning. He seemed full of himself & arrogant. After a while you see that the attitude is due to his hurt & distrust. I really enjoyed watching him realize that he deserved to be happy too & that Emma could be trusted. I can't wait to see what the next book brings.
A merger with mysterious, Grayson Cohen (The Cohen Cruise Line) and one of the best secretive families out there, Emma Caliendo (Caliendo Resort) then add into the mix, Miss Izzy who just keeps getting more spitfire as we read this family series and you will want to be Sunset Sailing right with this clan on the ship. Most may want to steer clear of the Cohen men; however, these Caliendo girls are hilarious and give the Cohen’s a lesson as well. Know it’s a little vague, but you aren’t getting spoilers from me. You will get to see a side of Grayson that others do not, you see a twist that almost is similar to the Caliendo on the Cohen side (jaw dropper) and we see a side of Emma that you don’t get to see when she is all serious at the Resort or with her family. See I told you some things. LOL The cruise that would sound claustrophobic to me since I’m fearful of cruises (although I really would love to try it, but to chicken so this is as close as I can get to a ship) is anything but, with all the things to do on that ship you would think you were on land. Crazy, but fun. There is not a sibling that you don’t admire and fall in love with in this series. I can say that I have been patiently waiting for Miss Izzy to get a story cause the man that she lands is in for some real work cause her spitfire and spoiledness is a handful, but cannot wait to see reality set in with her. Gotta say we are starting to see a little mystery in Melissa. Why do I feel like there’s a story with a brother coming on?
Emma Caliendo was on the Cohen cruise line for three weeks as her family's resort was going in business with the Cohen's Cruise line. Emma, her sister, Izzy, Abby, and Emma's friend Melissa were on the cruise too. Grayson Cohen is Brock's son and the family owns the cruise line. Grayson and his father are both known for going from woman to woman and not having any relationships. Emma and Grayson were at university together where Grayson started his womanizing ways. Emma and Grayson had a conflicting relationship. Emma told Grayson what she thought and Grayson loved to make her mad. They are attracted to each other even though they seem to fight all the time.
Grayson had some terrible things happen to him that made him not trust woman. Emma has always been quiet and not wanting to be in the limelight which was the opposite of Grayson. I enjoyed seeing Grayson open up to Emma and show her a side of him that he didn't show others. There are misunderstandings that make for some tempers flaring. I enjoyed the story and loved reading about characters I met in previous books. It is another good book in the series that I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily read and wrote a review.
“Walk away from me. Do it for yourself and find the man who says I love you back ……and means it.” Grayson Cohen has it all, good looks, a sexy sinful behavior, a wealthy business and he can have all the women he wants. Emma Caliendo is a quiet woman that shies away from the cameras and all the press surrounding her wealthy family; the Caliendo. She is simple, beautiful and stays away from complicated relationships.
They met thru their families but never been closed. Life always brought them together at family functions and galas but they looked at each other from afar until their family decided on a merger that would be beneficial on both side. Emma and Grayson have to work together for the press image but can they resist each other and keep a platonic friendly relationship or is their attraction too hard to resist..
Emma tries to play it cool but can she let loose and have meaningless fun for a few weeks? Can Grayson get over his past and finally let himself open to something more in his life?
Shannyn Leah once again brought it all out in a wonderful story. I can’t put any of her books down; once I start one I have to keep going till the end.
Fun, Laughter, Love, Betrayals, Loyalty, Family, Friendship, Lies and Deceptions; bring it all !
This is the 3rd book in the Caliendo Resort series but it could be read as a stand alone. The Caliendo Resort is merging with the Cohen Cruise Line. The two founding families are on a 3 week Cohen Cruise to finalize the merger. Grayson Cohen is on board and is the face of the Cohen Cruise line. Emma Caliendo is on board as one of the representatives for the Caliendo Resort. She and Grayson have a history and it’s not a good one. Emma has a very low opinion of Grayson but is still fighting an attraction to him. Grayson is not interested in happily ever after, he has serious issues with trusting women, but he sure is interested in Emma.
I loved Emma, she was not afraid to speak her mind. There were moments in the book that were funny, lots of sexual tension and some great dialogue. I enjoyed this book along with the others in the series. I would recommend this book as well as the others in the series.
Emma seemed like the quiet Caliendo sister who is perceived as being stuck up. Grayson, has known Emma forever and is a part of the Cohen Cruise line. Caliendo's and the Cohen's are merging and Emma has been invited on the cruise line to get the full experience before they merge. Unfortunately, Emma thinks that Grayson is an arrogant, ladies man and has been pursuing her as another notch.
As soon as Emma boards the boat, her sister Izzy encourages her to wear a hot, red dress and become less "frumpy". Grayson immediately spots her and the sparks fly. Grayson and Emma have this hot banter that bounces back and forth between them. As she gets to know Grayson, she realizes that he's not as he seems and is actually quite nice. Of course, she noticed that he was hot!
Of course, it's not all smooth sailing but its a fun ride between Emma and Grayson and I really enjoyed this book! A great series!
Emma gets dragged to the launch of the Caliendo and Cohen cruise lines so now she will have to deal with Grayson the womanizer. Ever since college he has hounded her and she has given it right back but as much as she insults him he loves it. When Emma’s sister Izzy dresses her for a dinner with the families Grayson can’t take his eyes off her but Emma is smart as much as she wants him she is not gonna be a notch on his bedpost. When they agree to be friends Grayson can’t believe how she makes him feel but he knows she deserves better than his love and leave relationships. They decide to just be friends but neither wants just that as they decide to do friends with benefits but old ghosts show themselves and Emma and Grayson will have to see how much they let them haunt their relationship. I love this story and how the families have their secrets and how they resolve them. I am really looking forward to the next in the series because you can’t not love this family.
I loved Emma and Grayson's story. Emma Caliendo likes to stay in the background and not be put into the spotlight so she is not sure why she has specifically been asked to board a three week cruise on the maiden voyage of the Cohen Cruise Line's newest ship in order to secure a merger between the cruise line and the Caliendo Resorts empire. All of the Cohen men are considered womanizers. Emma wants nothing to do with any of them but especially Grayson who humiliated her when they were in college. Grayson, however, keeps pursuing Emma and wants them first to be friends and then "friends with benefits" but he has told Emma that he is only interested in a fling and nothing more. Can Emma handle that? Can she stop the feelings she is beginning to have for Grayson and can Grayson overcome his feelings of betrayal by his father and his ex-wife and learn what love is really all about?
Emma Caliendo and Grayson Cohen don't really like each other much or so they think! Everyone else around them can feel the sexual tension around them. The are together on a three weeks cruise to initiate a merger between Caliendo Resorts and Cohen cruise lines. He is scared of relationships and is a fling kind of guy. No baggage, no attachments, no feelings. She has a crush on Grayson but is not a one night kind of girl. As the explore there friendship things get messy when she suggest friends with benefits and feelings start to surface. The secrets, lies and photos all add to the chaos. Can they survive? Loved Emma and how she spoke her mind about everything and anything. As for Grayson who doesn't love a reformed Bay boy?
Grayson is my new favorite player! How Ms. Leah is able to make each of her books "new" in emotion and dialogue is beyond the pale! I mean each one and especially this one is so full of excitement, romance, miscommunication and the whole total package and the reason I read romance is extraordinary! You can never go wrong picking up Ms. Leah's books as they exceed what you are expecting and fill you literally with joy and happiness...well after a little angst that is! This is part of a unique series and I am so fortunate to be gifted with one and I voluntarily review them because I want everyone to know of her extraordinary talent with storytelling!
Another great book of this series. I especially liked this book in the series. Each book in the series can be read alone; but you will miss a lot if you don't read the whole series. Also it is quite helpful prior to reading, "The Caliendo Resort" series that the "Willow Valley" series has been read. Because all of the characters continue into the next books in the two series. In the previous book there was talk about the merger of the Caliendo Resorts and the Cohen Cruise Lines. This is Emma and Grayson's story. There isn't as many twists and turns as in the previous books. However there are some surprises that will definitely knock your socks off.
Another great read in the Caliendo Resort series. This one revolves around the merger between the Caliendo Resorts and the Cohen Cruise Lines, and the frenemy to friends with benefits relationship between Emma and Grayson. This book had me laughing hysterically with the new version of Bingo and also had me in tears when the real reason for Grayson’s avoidance of love. Can two people who start out hating each other finally find love and a HEA? Shannyn Leah once again does not disappoint. I cannot wait for more if this series.
I received and voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book.
Grayson has always admired Emma hoping to get his chance with her. Emma has always avoided his playboy ways. When the two are forced together for a business deal between families things start to get interesting. Will the two be able to work together for the greater good or are there too many variables that stand in their way?
As with all these books they are truly stunning and fun in so many ways.
This is one of my favorite series yet! Every book keeps getting better. Emma Caliendo is an independent woman that doesn’t put up with anyone crap. Her family was invited to go on a cruise to see what they thought for a business deal. Grayson Cohen is the son of the owner of the cruise line and has lots of ghost in his past. When Emma and her sister go out for some fun she runs into Grayson. She has to figure out a way to deal with him for three weeks and boy is it a fun!
Book 3 of the Caliendo family. Emma story. A wonderful light contemporary romance book. Emma is the quiet sweet sister, who is sent on a cruise for a merger between the Caliendo and Cohen family. With her sister izzy, friends Abby and Melissa there is always fun loving trouble following them. .looking forward to reading izzy's book sunset flare.
A great addition to the Caliendo Resort series, this book will make you laugh, cry, scream with frustration. Great characters, well written plot, with lots of twists and turns and undeniable chemistry between the hero and heroine. Steamy without being vulgar, this story will keep your interest to the last page.
This is my favourite out of the series so far, though I can't believe that everything changed so much and was all HEA in just 2 weeks but it was a good summer read.
The thing that annoyed me the most about this book was the amount of spelling & grammar mistakes. There was very few chapters where I didn't spot a mistake.
