From the novel, Wishbone, we have Reflection, continuing with the lives of Chelsea Hodges and Derek Huntington in book two from the Game On trilogy.
When her passionate, white-hot, no strings attached relationship turns serious, Chelsea’s tragic past self-sabotages her future, propelling Derek on a voyage of discovery to win her back.
With her spiral of emotions dragging her even deeper than before, will Derek make it to Chelsea in time before it’s too late?
There is more to Chelsea than just being the party girl that changes men like others change their underwear. Derek, although at first OK with a casual fling with Chelsea, realizes that she is more to him than just a quick fling. Trying to convince her is a different story. Unknown to even her best friend Chelsea has suffered a tremendous loss and she is afraid to give her own happiness a chance. With Derek not giving in so easy there is tug-o-war between them that leaves you wondering of who has the upper hand. Just like book 1 this is a page turner. Its a reminder not to judge a person by their actions but instead look deeper and understand. Another great read by Lisa Sommers. On to book 3 in this series....
Lisa Sommers once again you managed to let me glued to my kindle, because once I started reading this book I couldn’t stop. I had wanted to read the story of these characters when I finished reading "Wishbone", because they were one of the central characters of the plot and was worth having waited. "Reflection" is the story of Derek and Chelsea, a very intense story with a lot of feeling to the mixture. Chelsea is the everlasting party girl, the one who wants to have fun, who just wants one night stands without attachments, but something is behind that way of living and only when you read the story you will understand why. While Derek is the handsome, the baseball player who fell in love with Chelsea, who want something more but she is not willing to give. Each chapter we read we have the story of their lives, emotions, struggles. What should we do when we begin to question the purpose of our lives? When we started to wonder if what we ever wanted was the correct? Does the pain of the past can shape our future, prevent us from being happy? On the other hand we want to forget everything and everyone and be happy, but then the pain obscures our minds which prevent us from achieve happiness. How far can our hearts endure so much rejection? To what extent can we expect to find and wait for our soul mate? The emotion level of this book is very intense, love and friendship are highlighted. Sometimes we need to take the risk because if we don’t we will never know if we can get what we want. I hope you are prepared for an avalanche of feelings because every word will touch your soul. Lisa this book comes only reaffirm what I told you when I read "Red Roses", you are a brilliant writer with the world at your feet. The level of feeling that your works transpire is something indescribable. I'm lucky to have you in my life because in every book I read i learn something more about this immensity that is unconditional love and friendship.
Oh this story, Derek and Chelsea are a force to be reckoned with. Such a beautiful story of love, how love so deep can pull you out of anything. Love so passionate it won't let you go no matter how hard you try and deny it. Chelsea was never one to commit. Her past has scarred her so deep that the facade she gives just to survive, is to be the fun girl. Nobody knows the scars behind the smile, behind the need for companionship without commitment. Can Derek pull her out? Will he show her that she is all that matters and make her understand? I cannot say enough how much this story got to me. It pulled me in from the first page, it made me teary, it made me angry, it made my heart soar. Find out how this story affects you.
I have to say that this one was a little bit better than the 1st. It was very emotional, I cried like a baby. I can't wait for the third one to come out.
