Rachel lives in New Hampshire, a place secretly known for its supernatural creatures. When she's not in her writing lair, she's partying with her husband and four children. Her love for storytelling began as a child when the moon first possessed the night. For when the lights went out, her imagination painted a whole new world. And what a scary world it was…
Escape from Eden was a great sequel ! The thing I’m enjoying the most about this series is the pace. There is never a full moment and it keeps the reader engaged. This one did slack a tiny bit in world building but that’s my only complaint. I was caught completely off guard with the plot twist , it was unexpected and I really like when a book surprises me. These books are simple and clean but have a really neat story line with awesome likable characters. Its definitely been a fun and exciting reading experience.
Omg.....I love this series!!! Rachel did it again, I couldn't put my reader down. This is a keep you on the edge of your seat rollercoaster ride. Sage and Max are safe in Eden, but Sage needs to get out. Besides not knowing many on the island, her heart is still on the mainland. When Tank shows up looking for information, one of the older Originals shows it to Sage. Sage with her photographic memory has the plans to a compound where Originals are being kept, but there is one person there that Sage needs to save...her Mother!
WOW!!! I am amazed with this story. The book is so good and the author weaves a world together with her words that makes you feel like you are there experiencing it all. Rachel McClellan are amazing! I love this series and I'm desperately waiting for the next one.

Escape from Eden is the second book in the Original trilogy, and it gives a nice in depth look into Eden and the way the originals are treated by the rest of the world.
The way Eden was written gave me Jurassic Park/ Attack on Titan vibes, with its high walls to keep the monsters of Purgatory Island out and the wilderness of the plants that grew there. Still strong with its Agenda 21/2030 ideas the second book is a bit more of a slow burn and sees the developing love interest between the main character and her bat winged love interest. (yes I forgot his name to, leave me alone!)
Her father who I (up to this point of the series) believed to be secretly serving the enemy is still shady as hell and I have to admit I didnt trust him at all for most the story.
There is a couple of what I would like to call shock moments in the story which if you dont expect it... will suprise you but, I kinda had a feeling about it anyways.
So book two starts off 6 months from where book one ended with Sage and her little brother safely on the island with the other pure blooded humans.
She’s itching to get off and when her friend Tank from book one if dropped onto the island on a mission this is her chance. She had to leave her brother behind as he’s young and not a fighter, and she gets to reunite with her love but it doesn’t go as well as expected.
She finds out her mother is alive and goes on a rescue mission to save her. When she finally finds her and they embraced by her she spilled her guts telling her mother everything, even when she never spilled under torture. Then her mom backstabbed her by giving all the secrets away to the bad guys.
Eden was no longer safe and the bad guys were attacking as soon as they got there lots of people died and were taken including her brother again.
Book 3 will be them no only trying to rescue their loved ones but also destroying the system

This second story in this trilogy - begins to ask this question. At the start of this part of the story - Sage & Max have made it to Eden - but Sage feels trapped and wants to know how her friends outside of Eden are surviving.
Then the action begins - they have a surprise visit from an old friend. With this comes a plan to continue the fight.
Have to say I still like Sage - although she did have a bit of teenage angst and self absorbed moments, overall her actions and attitude was all about saying those she cared about.
Huge ending warning: this most definitely ends in a massive cliffhanger with a bit of HOPE shining through.
I read Escape From Eden immediately after finishing Escape To Eden and both books took me 2/3 days to finish.
You cannot put them down.
This book was insanely good!! The pace is so fast, the action and drama, love and betrayal and everything in between is unreal!!
You fall in love with the characters. I found myself holding my breath to the end of chapters. I realised I was punching the air in glee. Crying. Laughing. All the emotions.
Sooooo excited to read Saving Eden, but already devastated it’s the last in the series.
DNF (31%) Good GOD. Is it just me, or did we skip a whole interesting chonk of time. Escape to then immediately escape FROM. Why is it just constant running in this story. I was hoping for some world and character building… but we pop in and are expected to just accept that little bro is a totally different person and that the elusive world they worked so hard to get to is just meh and passé? The part of the story I wanted - the unfolding of this place. It just made me annoyed and exhausted. I’ve resolved to just say no to finishing. The author isn’t giving what was promised by the 1st book. And that always drives me crazy.
I found the beginning boring and grey and it lacked the imagination that her other writing has, but it soon picked up followed a very interesting storyline with good character development, it was so hard to put down! You feel all of Sage's triumphs and heartbreaks, and its cool to see her using the skills from her training with her father mixed with her own spirit. I just down know how McClellan has all these amazing interesting ideas, every book blows my mind and stretches my imagination further!
Sage has been living within Eden's high walls for several months now, but an unexpected visitor has her scrambling for an escape. She must get back to Colt and the others no matter the risks.
But the outside world has changed, as have the people, and not necessarily for the better. Someone close to Sage has committed the ultimate betrayal, and to stop them, she's going to have to go back to the one place that nearly killed her.
This book was tense. Straight onto book 3 for me lol
Im really enjoying this series. this is the 2nd book in this trilogy. Sage leaves Eden to try and find her mother (who she thought was dead all this time) She obviously goes through alot to get out of Eden and then to get into where her mother is being held she learns that they have ALOT of security. One of the things to get past security is to get Ebony's DNA. To get this DNA Sage decides to go back into the institute. Long story short Sage ends up finding her mother, yet her mother is actually with the institute and what they believe in and Sage ends up telling her mother the location of Eden before she finds out that her Mother is actually NOT on Sage's side.

This sequel was even better than the first book! Right away I found myself lost in the story and wondering what was going to happen. From the title, I thought that most of the book would take place at Eden’s location, but it doesn’t. Regardless, one big surprise drives the whole story from start to finish and although some of it was predictable, it didn’t take away from the story. Once again, Sage shows remarkable courage throughout the story. Her inner monologues and thoughts can get a little funny at times, giving some comic relief to an otherwise serious story. Overall, I thought the story was very good and it left me wanting to read more.
Eden may not be for everyone and Sage yearns to make a difference rather than hiding in the shadows. This book is filled with revelations, betrayal and battles, so many times Sage is putting her life in jeopardy to save the people she cares about. There are losses in any war and some betrayals she does not see coming yet you admire her spirit and ability to keep fighting despite the tragic losses.
I would like to write a spoler but i should not. The actions of the main character does not make any sense close to the end. The most important thing that she should have said immediately she did not. Plot, i get it. But any human in real life i think would have said it as fast as they could. But anyway good book.
Didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first, as I felt there was a lack of world-building, but I was still completely engaged with the characters and in the narrative. The pace of these first two installments so far has been phenomenal. Not a dull moment!
What an amazing sequel! I mean all the creatures in this epic story are so cool, the good and the bad ones. I am more in love with Colt than ever and with the development of every character in the story. I strongly recommend it if you are a lover of science fiction. I really don’t want the story to ever end!
4.5 so far I am loving this series. The plot is fast paced, exciting and keeps getting better. The world it’s set within continues to expand. I’m excited for the next book. It’s labelled a romance but I really wouldn’t call it one. This book is free with audible so if you are thinking of reading it don’t hold off, you won’t be disappointed.
Quick read. 2nd in series. Few new characters. Lots of fighting. Lots of Sage disregarding everyone’s advice and warnings and running into peril.
Good YA series… little more romance drama in this one than the first. String female characters and strong themes of do the right things for the right reasons in terms of the fighting.
Seriously having such a great time with this series and this was a great sequel. That plot twist??? Wowow did not see it coming even though I felt that character was quite suspicious. I am really liking the pace of these books; doesn’t feel rushed or slow just the perfect pace. This one lacked some world building but it was still great and easy to understand.
What a great Book 2!! So much excitement, unexpected twists, and characters I can't get enough of!! I love this series, can't wait to read the next book as I've already downloaded it! Rachel McClellan is now in my fave author category!
Exciting fast paced story that just keeps getting better. Sage fights.to save the world. With some major.twists.in this.book and.more.secrets unravelling it truly grips.you and.won't let.go
I really like all the characters and the plot is really well written. Sage is your typical heroine, but this series is unique. Good versus evil, but with a few twists, turns, betrayals, lies, deceipt, manipulation, you get it !!! LOL
What a fantastic second book. Sage needs to get off the island. There is someone she must save. By trying to save the one person who matters the most, she has now damned another. She will rise. She will fight.
As in the first book the second book is awesome. The story continues to unfold. Many twists and a lot of intense moments. Excited for the third book in this series.
This book is as great as the first, it’s fast paced, well written and the characters are believable. This series is the best I’ve read in a long time. Cannot wait to start reading book 3.
The first book was fun and suspenseful with good characters — this one was very mediocre by comparison. I also wish these books had had a better editor that knows the difference between “then” and “than” and how to use apostrophes.
I still love how this writer is telling the story. Quick and to the point no fluffy extra. I do often get very frustrated with sage and her inability to be a part of the team. Her selfishness and thinking she can do it sometimes causing more problems then helping.
