It was great fun to re-read this one, especially now that the anime has aired. :P We have a game to the death (RIP those guys btw), Kanna who does some very interesting things to her best friend (though sadly for her gets pulled away before doing anything), we meet a new dragon (and I just adore her simplicity and hunger for all the things nom), and much more. I laughed so much. I definitely need to get the next volume, I want to know who the new girl is.

...please stop being lewd with the children. Lucoa, stop flashing your oversized tits at the little boy. Author, I don't wanna see Kanna's panties. Why is the new character dressed like that?! Also, with this art style, I couldn't tell that the character from Tohru's story was a girl, let alone an adult. And why do all these characters want to be maids?!?!

I honestly don't get this series or why it's so popular. But I'll admit, it's not half bad when it's serious and kinda funny when it's not.

Again, a good volume.
The only thing I didn't like was the introduction of the Lucoa's"master" where the author loads in the hetero fanservice.
Other than that, it was great. Highlight as Kana and her friend are gay together.

I thought Tohru not knowing anything made for the best moments. But in this volume, the unfettered jealousy makes for some ridiculous situations. The box lunch battle had me in stitches as did the dodgeball tournament. It’s really soothing to watch these interactions as they unfold in their absurdity.

Elma going to work is so ridiculous. The girl knows absolutely nothing, but the growth curve of settling in to her new role played really well with the rest of the tone. Plus it’s a neat way to establish the tenacity of dragons.

I feel like the relationship between Kanna and Saikawa was a bit too much given that they are children.

The only reason why I'm giving this 3/5 stars is cause I like the story and I am/was hoping for an actual WLW relationship... but I can't with the way these characters are depicted. I need to re-evaluate if this is worth continuing out of curiosity despite how icky this is making me feel.

I decided to read the Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid manga because I was curious to compare it to the two seasons of the anime—which I liked a lot despite being uncomfortable with the way Lucoa sexually harasses an elementary school student—and I was a bit surprised to find that, unlike the other anime where I've read the manga or light novel source material, that the events are fairly scrambled. Things tend to happen in fairly different orders in the anime and the manga, and some events in the anime seem to have been created for the anime, while some bits of the manga are left out of or changed in the anime. Honestly, I think I prefer the anime, but it's interesting to see the source material, too. Hopefully the movie that came out in theatres this year will come out for home viewing, too, soon.

Being that I've read all of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Elma’s Office Lady Diary, Vol. 1 and just getting into this series is a little weird because I already know what happens to some extent.

We finally got Elma's introduction my favorite character and in this she's very toned down, her addiction to food and wanting Tohru back, are very subdued in this. I still quite enjoyed it but I felt this was a little longer than the first two, aside from the Fafnir bit there wasn't really any comedy in this.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
While I had found Kanna’s dynamic with her school friend cute and amusing due to a one-sided crush, it now has taken a rather unsettling tone since this volume showed more… mature undertones.
That new element aside though, I really enjoyed reading this volume. Some new and unique characters got introduced, and Tohru briefly became jealous at Kobayashi’s attention turning elsewhere (and it absolutely wasn’t romantic in the slightest). I’m very curious to see what happens in the next volume since things ended on the reveal of a new and potentially threatening character.

Manga is always a fast read, so it was nice to get through something so quickly again.

I enjoyed the parts that I've seen in the anime, nice and cute, but there's some really graphic parts in this volume in particular where you can tell that this was made by a man for other men.

The amount of nudity could be reduced by a fraction, and the very last panel wasn't needed at all.

A personal favorite, was Kobayashi standing and dressing like a well groomed lesbian despite herself just coming into it herself and the few panels we got of Fafnir with his hair up talking about Hatsume Miku.

This manga is growing on me.

I'm starting to enjoy this more. A lot of stories start off slow, for several reasons - the author hadn't found their muse yet, the title was originally a one-shot or mini-series, or just because. Regardless, it's always a good idea to check out the 2nd volume of a manga that you weren't particularly impressed with. It often times takes the author time to get up to steam, & fully set the templates for the story & characters. Art, rough yet good. Dialogue, kind of silly, but good. Characters, likeable, & some adorable.

(This was originally released in 2013!)

Added more depth to some of the other characters. We’re almost introduced to everyone in the main anime! I think the anime goes out of order because we just meet Ilulu at the end of this volume and they made that for season two! It’ll be interesting to see how the flow is different than the anime. Still pretty comic looking but it’s getting more detailed and more artistic over the chapters. Now I get to read from the color chromatic version for some of the chapters!

I do like we get more on Tohru and the rest of the dragons even if Kanna's relationship with Saikawa I find a bit disturbing because the fact that both are young children. But the rest of this volume is quite funny with my favorite part when Tohru is scared of Kobayashi and Saikawa's sister. But it does end with introducing a new dragon into the cast which seems intriguing as this volume does move past where the anime ended.

Super cute as always with some obvious lewdness as well. There really isn’t too much I have to say about this volume. It all felt like a bunch of gag jokes with a bit of development here and there mostly just with intent to add more girls. All in all though, we got some spotlight for the majority of characters in this volume and everything felt fairly equal with the main pair being the obvious main duo.
This is a fun little distracting light read.

Another fun volume! I really enjoy reading these as I initially discovered this property through the anime adaptation. It's cool to read the source material and even though I've already "seen" these stories I always end up chuckling aloud frequently while reading the stories I'm already familiar with. Very excited to acquire volume 4!

This and previous volume is very much older teen borderline adult due to some of the details in the drawings of body parts. The story is fantastic, I just wish the fan service calmed down. Otherwise I think the characters are well thought out and funny. I would be hesitant to add this to YA but I would not mind adding it to adult.

I don't know why but I really feel like this is just a cute fun series. I like the characters and the plot. It has a good pace. This volume was enjoyable over all and I look forward to the next volume.

The hijinks ensue as Lucoa takes up resident at Shouta's place. Oh poor Shouta. At the same time Tohru reflects on her past a bit and soon discovers a mystery is afoot. Things are only made worse as Elma arrives and tries to make Tohru pay for her crimes. Unfortunately, she has to get a job first.

The manga gets better by the volume. I don't know why they didn't add more of manga material to the anime. Can't wait for volume 4 to come out!

It's so funny and cute. And it slyly mixes in cool dragon mythology and realistic pathos.

well, it's nice how much this series feels like a doujinshi - like the author is just doing whatever the heck they want!

Sigue siendo super adorable, y por in llegamos al contenido que no estaba en el manga; pero la parte del echi con Kana me da bastante repelús.
