In this poignant and charming short story, a daughter yearns to connect with her absent father through the letters they exchange. She is not put off by his pedantic corrections of her writing, despite the slow reveal that he is less than perfect himself.
Not sure how one can be so drawn into a set of characters, and get so emotionally effected, within so few pages. That's a testament to some great writing. Oh but why did you have to leave me feeling like this......
This story comprised of a daughter and her father writing letters back and forth. It glimpses the girl growing up into a teenage girl. The writing style was pretty interesting and the story was even more so. I do wish there had been a bit more context and story to the story, but it was very heartfelt and beautiful. I loved the underlying message in the story as well. Fully recommend.
A bittersweet story told through a young girl's correspondence with her absent father. Well told, these letters will make you smile and tug at your heart, only to give you a gut punch ending you won't see coming. A heart-rending but rewarding read.
Bridge Gate by J.T. Lawrence was a good quick read. A daughter who wants a relationship with her father connects to him through letters. I really enjoyed reading this short story.
This short story was affecting and poignant. While it might easily be expanded to something longer, this tidbit packed a real punch and the ending changed how preceding events were perceived.
