A young independent woman being faced with an arranged marriage and encounters a hot single dad? Yes please. Chasing Fire was on my radar from the moment I realized what this book was going to be about and I was more than ready for this dramatic sexy showdown.

Chloe Ryan has always been proud of what she does for a living. As a pediatric ER nurse, nothing is more important than her job and having her independence. But what happens when one of those things is threatened thanks to her family? Never one to bow down and be quiet, Chloe decides to take a stance against her family and by doing that she meets a man who has the power to turn her entire world upside down.

Colton Fisher loves being a dad to his six year old daughter. She's become the bright spot in his messy chaotic life and he would do it all over again if it means getting to see his daughter smile everyday. But his personal life is a mess and he has no more room for complications. Or so he thinks.



I really liked the flow of the story in the beginning and I loved that the heroine was so fierce!! This woman knew exactly what she wanted and she didn't cower in most situations which I really admired about her. I felt that the story was too fast paced for me and I didn't get to feel the connection between the main characters. Everything came together so quickly that I eventually gave up blinking because I didn't want to miss anything else. If things were slowed down a bit more and the characters were spending more time together one on one, there's no doubt that I would've enjoyed the story much more but that didn't happen.

Overall this was an okay fast paced quick sexy read and if you're in the mood for that, then you should definitely give this one a try.

Chasing Fire was an engaging, fast-paced read that was time well spent. This was easily read as a standalone even though it was book three in this series. I quickly fell for Emery Jacobs style of writing as this was my first read by her.
Chloe Ryan is the daughter of a former Senator and their relationship is made of way too many expectations instead of love. When she finds out he’s arranged a marriage to the son of a family friend, she’s infuriated. I was so happy when she fights back instead of begrudgingly going along with his plans. In the process, she meets Colton “Fish" Fisher. He is a single dad, struggling to make ends meet and fighting a vicious ex. These two couldn’t be more opposite yet their chemistry is off the charts. He’s a tattoo artist that also runs an art studio. Their true love was a fire that consumed them, getting her pregnant in the process. Should she marry a stranger and make her family happy or forgo a miserable future and spend forever with her soulmate?
I loved these characters so much, especially Fish's delightful daughter, Gemma. This story kept me on the edge of my seat wondering who would win in the battle of wills between Chloe and her family. The angst was just enough to make my heart happy. I will definitely be reading any future books by this author. I highly recommend this book. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

This was a quick read and the third in a series. I haven’t read the other books in this series but I have read other Emery Jacobs books and they don’t disappoint. In this one we meet Chloe who is dealing with her rich family. And Colton aka Fish, a heavily tattooed, hard bodied, single dad…yes please! These are two people who wouldn’t seem to work but they do in this book and the chemistry is off the charts! Lots of steam in this one! Chasing Fire is an enjoyable quick read to get lost in!

Emery Jacobs is a fairly new author to me and I haven’t read the previous books in this series so I can honestly say Chasing Fire can be read and loved as a stand-alone, although I will be playing catch up as soon as time permits with the previous books. This is single dad Colton (Fish) Fisher and Chloe Ryan’s story and let me just say this is a book you will want to read.
Chloe is not happy to go along with her fathers wishes and she tells him straight she is not going to marry his best friends son, what follows is a battle of wills as her family insist on continuing with the wedding plans. Looking for an escape she ends up in the arms of a man her parents would hate, a man with his own problems and that’s a single dad who goes by the name of Fish. What follows is an emotional yet entertaining story about two people finding love when they least expected it, they come from different backgrounds but no matter how many times Chloe’s family drag her home she always finds her way back to her soulmate…..
I loved both Colton and Chloe, I fell hard and fast for him and I adored how she wouldn’t buckle under pressure from her family. I loved the way they supported each other, the way Chloe built her relationship with an adorable little girl called Gemma who loved tea parties and honestly that little girl stole my heart. Wonderful story with great characters and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.

5 star Review of Chasing Fire (Twisted Fate #3) by Emery Jacobs

Emery Jacobs is a relatively new author to me and I am surprised that I have not read more of her books. From the first chapter to the last I was hooked on single dad Colton (Fish) Fisher’s story and the woman who captures his heart and soul, Chloe.
There were times my heart almost broke for Chloe and the position she finds herself in. Torn between doing her duty and what is expected of her by her family and her love for Fish and their unplanned pregnancy.
Complicating matters is Fish’s ex’s including the mother of his little girl, Gemma. I loved Fish and Chloe separately but especially together. They are two halves of a whole and the connection that lies between them is deep and true. Fish’s little girl Gemma, what an adorable and determined little girl she is, I loved her and she almost stole the book right out from under our couple.
Will Chloe’s family tear her away from the man she loves and the future she is desperate to have with him and Gemma? Or will she find the courage to follow her heart? One click and find out.

Chasing fire was not what I expected! Chloe Ryan is a series kick butt heroine! From the start she was a fighter and didn’t settle for what others thought she should be! She stood her ground when needed and even encouraged others to go for what they deserve!

Colton! Now this hot mess of a man was a broody bad boy 100%! The thing though is underneath he had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help those in need!

I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two and hope it’s not the last of them!

What a beautiful, fast-paced, and totally fated love story. This book flew by and before I knew it, it was over. This book for me was a very emotionally fuelled story, one that sweeps you off your feet. Colton and Chloe make for a really great story. Helped along by the cutest sidekick that Colton could have his little girl, Grace.

This book moves really quickly but it doesn't seem rushed, it just seems natural. From someone's selfish actions, this book takes a turn that neither Colton nor Chloe expects. But I think it was another step that means they were fated.

This book is a great read, I totally recommend it. I really enjoy this author's style of writing.

4.5 'Destined Lovers' Stars!

I loved this sweet, emotional, and steamy romance! Chloe and Colton come from two very different worlds but were both drowning in circumstances beyond their control. Chloe is from a world of wealth and privilege, and is being bullied by her father to marry the son of a family friend. Colton is a single Dad, struggling to make ends meet, while fighting his selfish ex from taking his daughter away from him. They meet just when they need each other most. Although the way they meet isn't under the best conditions, the sparks fly between them. As they find ways to spend more time together, and Chloe connects with Coltons' daughter, they all fall fast and hard for each other. But there are those that conspire against them, making their lives even more complicated. Is their new love worth fighting for, or is it best to walk away before more than just their hearts get broken?
Chloe is so strong, and brave as she fights her family for what she wants. Colton is so sweet, loving and protective, and totally swoony as the perfect little girl dad to the completely adorable Gemma. They made a beautiful family that felt honest, and real, and made me cheer for their HEA! I loved the twist at the end, and the epilogue made me very happy! This story had so much emotion, heart, and sizzling passion, and I loved every moment!

Swoony, Heart - Touching awesome ride ahead 😍😍

This one is definitely the favorite book of mine from this series with how Fish and Chloe had me so into their story.
Right from page 1, AHH, I was in love.

Chloe has a family that's super rich and powerful and famous but are also equally selfish with no regard as to what their kids want. As Chloe is told that she'd be marrying Chase Ashbrook, son of a family friend, just for political gains.

Even when Chloe keeps on putting forth her not wanting to have to do anything with the engagement or the marriage part. Her father just keeps on threatening her. Fed and stressed, Chloe roams the street in her haste to flee never have imagined that she'd find herself on the doorstep on a man who'd end up saving her.

Colton 'Fish' Fisher works at the Southern Stain as a tattoo artist and also is a painter with his gallery slash living space. He's had a not so good history with his choices in women, especially his on and off girlfriend, Brandy. Then there's the mother of his daughter who is just a very annoying woman. But he adores and loves his daughter, Gemma.

Fish and Chloe meet in very unusual circumstances and even though Fish tries his best to stay away from the attraction he feels towards Chloe. When a small accident lands his daughter in the ER with a minor injury, he never thought he'd find the woman who sends him into a tailspin and his daughter taking an immediate liking to her.

AHH.. There are just so many things are made thoroughly enjoy this book. The moments with Gemma and her Sweetness, and when they have their tea parties. Gemma is such a smart and lovely child. Also, the swoony moments between Chloe and Fish and just seeing two people so far away in status come together and become one. AHH.. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Chloe comes from an affluent family, but they're absolutely dysfunctional with the way they try to control her life. She's been told that she has to marry a man that her father picked out or she would be cut off, and man, it was just messed up like you wouldn't believe. As she's going through this, she ends up on a man's porch when she's hammered, and her life takes a new turn. Colton is a single father who has some issues with a couple of women, one who won't leave him alone, and the other is his horrible baby mana so yeah, he's dealing with some drama of his own. When he finds Chloe on his porch, his life takes a better turn despite the fact that he's going back & forth in his head about her as she keeps popping up. They have amazing chemistry, and since it's undeniable, it's only a matter of time before it goes off & explode it did. However, she ends up pregnant with his child which makes things more complicated, especially with her family. Will they be able to weather the storm together or will they finally crash & burn?! I LOVED this story a ton, and I believe y'all will as well after you hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Chloe and Colton come from completely different worlds. Raised in a very privileged family, Chloe has always had everything she could want for. But with the political fame surrounding her family has come a huge cost. Her parents have essentially pushed her sister from the family, and are now giving Chloe and ultimatum surrounding an arranged marriage.

Despite nearly constant refusal to be forced into marriage with an older man to aid his political aspirations, her denials fall on deaf ears. Meanwhile, a chance encounter leads her to single dad Colton, who is facing his own set of obstacles surrounding custody of his adorable daughter Gemma.

Chloe have an instant connection despite their disparate backgrounds, and seek comfort in each other's arms. The chemistry between the two is palpable from the outset. The question is - can they find a way around the obstacles that may seem insurmountable.

This is my first read by Emery Jacobs, and while Chasing Fire is part of a series, this can easily picked up as a standalone. I'll be going back to read books one and two - so this caught and kept my interest.

Chloe I love her straight away because we see her as a child and then a adult. She is brave, headstrong & she will not be pushed around. She a child nurse and her parents are elite rich people a.k.a jackasses. I love her Bestie Laney , they are friendshipgoals

Colton is a talented single dad with 2 very very crazy ex's. One ex redeems themselves so I won't hate her as much...no spoilers
He is a tattooist & talent artists with his own gallery and hosts other artists too. His daughter Gemma 6 years old but acts like a teenager her one liners 😂 I loved him straight away because his Gemma comes first.

I just LOVE the ending because a safety coin brought the together and fate helped them with a drunked night and a small injury...no spoilers

Chasing Fire is the third book in the Twisted Fate Series and follows Chloe and Colton's story.

Chloe is a strong and independent woman. She is a pediatric ER nurse, loves her life and is proud of what she has achieved. When her parents decide they can dictate a very important part of her future, threatening her independence, she refuses to submit to their demands.

Colton is a single dad to 6 year old Gemma. His life is currently a complete mess. He is trying to do everything he can to stop his daughters mother from taking her away from him, and has just broken up with his longtime on/off girlfriend for the last time. He doesn't need anymore complications in his life. Well, that is until Chloe ends up at his house one night.

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was fast paced and I loved the characters. The chemistry between Chloe and Colton was amazing and their connection went deeper than they remembered. And I absolutely loved Gemma. She was super sassy and so freaking adorable!

Colton "Fish" Fisher is a single dad just making sure his own life doesn't fall apart, but when he meets Chloe he feels an instant connection. However, does he have time to add another woman to his messed up life?

I like that these two work on solving their own problems, but all the people in their lives who make them difficult are horrible human beings. However, Colton's little girl is adorable so she makes up for those awful people.

A 4.5 read overall.

Quite a Bit Packed Into a Few Pages!

With this being book three of the series, I wasn't too sure what to expect from it, however Chasing Fire read nicely as a stand alone.

Emery Jacobs packed a lot of punch in a few pages and I appreciated that. We got right to the gist of it and she did a great job fleshing out the characters as well. I was a fan of both Colton "Fish" and Chloe, as they were faced with a few awkward situations. Chloe had some major family issues and Fish seemed to be juggling a few women, however things aren't always as they seem.

While the premise was serious, there was some funny and sexy, with a little bit of angst to complete the storyline. Chasing Fire is well written with a nice epilogue to wrap things up.

Chloe and Colton was an amazing awesome story❤❤

Chloe was feisty and was no pushover. Especially when her father arranged a marriage for her. She was not going down easy. So on the night of her 'supposed' engagement she meets single dad Colton 'Fish' Fisher.

Colton is a single dad to an adorable little girl Gemma. And his trying to get tolerate her mother... And dealing with a crazy on again then off again ex...Then he meets a drunken Chloe on his front porch and even though he wasn't that nice to her seems like fate kept on putting her in his path...

Sweet, feisty, drama, hot and so much to this story. I loved what an amazing father Colton is and Chloe was a feisty character who not only stood up for herself but was totally a champion for others. I haven't read a lot of this authors books but I definitely enjoyed it all. Looking forward to reading more🥰

Chasing Fire is a heartwarming story about two people who are from different backgrounds and meet by chance. Colton and Chloe have an immediate connection, share a lot of chemistry and are perfect for each other. They are two good people who deserve a HEA and I was pulling for them to be together. Unfortunately, there are people who try to keep them apart.

This story pulled at my heartstrings and I immediately connected with the characters. Colton and Chloe are easy to like and I enjoyed all of their encounters. This is a satisfying read from start to finish.

This was an intense book for me. I was drawn to this one because it's a single dad romance. There is a bunch of nasty characters that I want karma to go visit especially Chloe's parents. How they created such a caring daughter, but she's defied them to not be like them. Colton is a grumpy guy, but he's a great dad. You can tell how much he loves Gemma. Gemma is such a cutie pie and bright light in this book. I really liked Chloe and Colton together, but Chloe's dad is making her life a living hell. Then of course life takes another curve ball for these two. They go on quite the journey, but the epilogue is so worth it all. It's truly beautiful and a perfect way to end this book.

Chasing Fire by Emery Jacobs is a romance read that will just grab you from the first page with the characters, the story line, and intensely hot chemistry between Chloe and Colton. This author has this wonderful ability to pull her readers in with a story that seems so real and relatable. Chloe is a strong woman that finds herself in a situation with her family while Colton is a single dad trying to give his daughter the best life that he can. And when these two come together, there are sparks, and they just seem to fit like two puzzle pieces in the right location. Despite everything that happens to both characters this story will put a smile on your face.

I'm a new reader to Emery Jacobs but I throughly enjoyed Chasing Fire.

Chloe comes from a political family, and her parents think they can have a say in her life but that's where they are wrong she's definitely one to stand up for herself especially when told who she will marry.

Colton is a single dad to the very adorable Gemma, she's his world even though he dispises her mother. When he discovers a drunken Chloe on his porch he's definitely not the friendliest he could be but soon enough fate seems to keep throwing them together and there's an even bigger surprise to come.

A great story and I will definitely be reading more in the future.

I really enjoyed this quick read. I loved how Chloe stayed defiant to her family wishes even with the threats they threw at her. She was loyal to her sister, enjoyed her job, and knew she wanted something better. Colton was a great dad with a lot of drama going on in his life. Two made a great couple as they helped each other through their issues. I enjoyed the little twist in the end regarding Chloe's "arranged marriage". I recommend this story, and I will look for more in the series.

What do you do when you don't want to marry the man your parents are pushing for? that's the situation that Chloe has found her self in. Her parents are such pieces of work that I would have done the same. threaten to cut her off when she doesn't want to do what they want is one way to handle things. when Chloe meets Fish she knows what she is lacking in her life. it's basically love at first sight and how can you deny that right. I loved this book and don't want to give anything away but OMG how can you go wrong with Fish. swoon

Great little read on the past reconnecting in the present, fiery chemistry terrible family members, and a little girl that would not let go of what she wanted. Chloe has a mega ultimatum in front of her, and it's not even really an ultimatum, when her family pressures her into an arrangement. Fish has his own issues with a crazy on-an-off ex-girlfriend as well as the cold mother of his little girl threatening to take her away from him.
But chasing the fire leads to the hot burning they desire, and the explosion that is to follow.

Emery Jacobs has an amazing way of making her stories so realistic/believable, and this one is right up there as one of her best!

I loved Chloe and Colton (Fish) separately, but I loved them together even more, and after Fish's previously failed relationships, I was extra happy to see him get his HEA. As with all of the books I've read by this author, this one is definitely recommended!

I loved this intriguing romance! Chloe and Colton’s story was a very enjoyable read! Chloe’s family is set on arranging a marriage for her and she’s not having any part of it. Colten has his own drama with dealing with his daughters mother and a crazy ex. Through it all Chloe and Colton manage to start a relationship. They make a great couple. I really enjoyed the twist at the end. Chasing Fire was a great addition to the Twisted Fate series! Read it and I’m sure you’ll love it too!

Life has been a little on the hard side for me. This book reminded me that life is full of surprises. Colton & Chloe meet in an unique way and are drawn to one another like a moth is to light. This book put a smile on my face.
