A good start for kids who show some interest towards the night sky, this book will give them good info covering all major topics of the universe and it's matter and give a guide to further self explore.

I really liked the parts talking about rockets. The pictures of the solar system are really good.

Even though this book is 13 years old, the pictures are fantastic. I love showing the 5th graders the pages where it shows zooming out from the earth as if you are in a spaceship--first you see a neighborhood, then an aerial view of an area, then the earth, then the solar system, then the galaxy, then other galaxies. You can begin to feel the immenseness of the universe.
