I met the author, Michael Simpson, at Melrose Trading Post while I was on a trip in California. He's also an artist, and all of his work is inspired by this evocative and moving book of poetry. The poems interconnect, creating a truly "intense pulse" that can be felt even after you stop reading. Simpson had a special energy that almost convinced me this poetry was uniquely for me. I eagerly await his future work, while I continue praising "Intense Pulse" to anyone who will listen. Thank you for this transformative poetry, Michael, it truly changed my life.
