Denver Diaries #1

Second Chances: The Complete Story

Rate this book
Losing love, real love, can break a man. The pain it causes cannot be taken away, but when that love walks back in, the possibilities of a second chance are too tempting to pass up. Brian Lauder lost a love, the love of his life, when Morgan Cherik walked out two years before. He wallowed in self-pity and alcohol until he tried to get past it, moving on to a new man, who came into his life as a rent boy but became much more.
Morgan’s rain drenched skin couldn’t contain the strawberry scent of him, or camouflage his tears of regret. As Nicolas Perez, Pez, steps aside, Brian takes Morgan back, wondering if he can regain all they’d lost.
It wouldn’t be easy for Morgan to earn his place back at his beloved Master’s feet. Brian was angry and hurt, and the sadist in him put Morgan through paces he’d never imagined. Still, there was a great love there between them, if only Brian could forget Pez.
A chance encounter at a club lets him see what Pez has been up to since walking away from Brian, and he comes back to the house, to the couple he’d allowed to get back together with his leaving. Right away, he and Morgan fight. The hatred and jealousy enrages them, but Brian realizes he wants them both and enlists help to make it happen.
Tensions do not abate easily. The two men are both passionately in love with Brian, but when their own desires for one another ignite, they begin to think that the threesome could work and they could be happy.
Morgan goes back to work, modeling kinky gear for Slutae and Pez’s dream also comes true when he is hired as the company’s marketing executive. With a huge launch at Chaps coming, where Pez has a contract with Travis Walton, the club’s owner, for his staff to wear the company’s products exclusively, Morgan is set to be the star of the show. Who thought anything could go wrong?
Tragedy strikes and strikes again. Brian starts to question his own sanity even as he attempts to help the clients at the women’s prison he works for as a psychologist. His boys feel helpless and alone, but a friend from Brian’s past comes to get him back to the old Brian, dominant and confident.
Twists and turns, this threesome is never sure they can work out. Watch as these men attempt to overcome jealousies, turmoil, pain and loss. Friends step in when needed, and their lifestyle of BDSM gets them through times when nothing else can.
“Each couple in the relationship must have a strong love. It’s a triangle. Brain and Morgan, Morgan and Pez and Pez and Brian being the corners; if they all aren’t strong, then the triangle itself isn’t strong. It’ll buckle.”

I love writing, it's been my dream for many years, and in October of 2013, when my first book went live on Amazon, that dream came true.

Writing love stories that are centered on flawed but lovable characters is my passion. Finding love between people isn't easy, nor should it be. Even in a book, there have to be obstacles for the story to feel real.

I am a mother of three amazing people, and three adorable fur babies. I live in Colorado but love many other places besides my home. One state in particular is New Mexico, the state where I was born has always held a place in my heart.

People and places make my stories what they are. Each character I've written is a part of me in some way. Each place I write is as well. Adventures come in many ways, and each of my stories has taken me on an adventure that I treasure.

Come with me on my adventures and fall in love with my characters, as I have. I promise, you will love the ride.

Long, and enthralling...

Wow, what an incredible story the author has told. But first, don't start reading this until you can devote lots of hours to it. I finally had to give in at 2 am the other night and I was only at 36% of the story - it is a super long book! And although the story is all about Brian, Morgan and Pez, so many others are integral to the story that I felt like I'd met half the citizens of Denver. Lots of possible future tales. I don't believe I've ever read this author and I'm so glad they decided to put the Chaps series on special. Can't wait to start book 2 (of 4) tonight!

Deserving

Obstacles always come along in everyone's life. Hopes and dreams, insecurities and setbacks abound. Second Chances has all this rolled into one powerful book. No one knows where life will lead them but one should never give up. Life is an adventure not to be taken for granted and chances need to be explored even thru its ups and downs, successes and failures but most of all hopes and dreams and believing in oneself and others. This is a story not only about sex and lifestyles but about living out your dreams and always about second chances.

Definitivamente DNF.

DNF Detested 2 out of 3 MCs. Brian was an emotional mess and was a spiteful Dom. He did not practice how he counseled patients at his job. He was unable to appreciate Paz. I did not feel sorry for him at all. Morgan was self centered and did not walk his talk when he came back to Brian. Paz was the only shining star in this trio. Unfortunately, I didn't care enough about the first two to continue.

I have found a new favorite writer, not one to ever write reviews but with this book I couldn't not..
Loved these men especially my Paz , I loved that this book did not shy away from all the hard topic that goes when in a poly relationship, loved to read the interactions between the 3 of them, very sad when book ended but it will for sure be a reread many times..

Soooo long!

Brian, Pez and Morgan each worked my nerves at different times in the book, but I am glad that in this installment things worked out for them.

It was also good to be connected with the characters from Apishipa Creek. I would love to move on to the next book in the series but I need a brake.

This was the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I loved that the book was long and in-depth, that the characters were so well developed and that the story line was so full and nothing felt rushed. And who doesn't like reading about 3 very sexy men. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

Three times the fun

Brian's, Pez's and Morgan's book was great. The three while completely different balanced each other out. The character development was excellent, the plot riveting. I look forward to more from this series.

Chaps

I enjoyed Brian, Pez and Morgan’s story. So much going on in their lives, so much to learn about being a threesome.

Review So, I've never read anything by this author and got the first four of these books when they were on sale recently. WOW! Why didn't I get them sooner?!?!
In this we meet Brian, Pez and Morgan.
What to say about these guys and their story...
To me it felt like several stories that intertwined until eventually they became one story.
Firstly we have Brian's story, the story of his work with the women in the prison, his relationship with his father, his relationship with Pez & Morgan, separately to start and then as a trio, then seeing him figure out how to be a perfect Dom to both of them. On top of this though he has his own demons to contend with too.
Then we've got Morgan & Pez,.,...,, Morgan and his modelling career, Pez and his renting and their love for Brian but, at first, hate for each other.
This story has so many elements, emotions and things in between that you have to take your time when reading it or you WILL miss something. I loved all 3 main characters and the side characters too. Yes, Brian is a tough dom but his punishments, I feel, were perfect and unique for each sub.
At times I did wonder how the three would ever work out, seeing the love/hate relationship between Pez and Morgan but, the way the author wrote it, that it wasn't simply a quick fix or that they feel in instalove was brilliant. Brian had to work REALLY hard with both of them and they all had to adjust and Morgan and Pez both had to realise that their singular relationships with Brian had to be forgotten to make things work as a threesome. I'm also glad that this didn't happen overnight with them and that they still threw what had happened in their pasts at each other.
GAH!! I could go on about other things in the book I read and loved but I won't, suffice to say though that this was an absolutely fantastic read and I seriously can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens next!
Absolutely loved it!!
