Emily Shadowhunter #1

Vampire Killer

Rate this book
Not all Vampires are good. Not all Werewolves are bad.

And not all Teenage Girls awake on their Eighteenth Birthday to find that they are the last in a long line of Vampire Killers. The last of a group known as The Olympus Foundation.

The last of the Shadowhunters!

Emily Hawk didn’t ask to become a Superhero. She was quite content to live out her life in the backwaters of Alaska with her foster parents. It was boring, but it was safe. Predictable.

Nevertheless - here she was, in another country. Surrounded by Vampires and Werewolves.

And the worst part of it was… she was pretty sure that she was in love with one of them!

If you’re looking for a ‘Kick-Ass’ heroine who speaks her mind and doesn’t take any…well…trouble from anyone – then look no further. Emily Hawk is your girl.

An epic Vampire, shapeshifter, werewolves, coming of age, romance. Funny, violent and romantic this series stretches across time and dimensions from ancient Greece to modern England. From everyday people to the Pantheon of the gods.

Another excellent Craig Zerf book. Read it now!

This is another excellent Craig Zerf book and happily it's also the beginning of a great 4 volume series.

Emily is the lead character and is the 18 year old daughter of a couple of former Shadow Hunters. When she turned 18 her Shadow Hunter powers manifested, including increased strength, speed, agility & eye sight. These abilities combine to give her the potential to fight & kill vampires, once she is properly trained.

This book is full of great action and great characters. I found myself fully caught up in the story and really rooting for Emily and her vampire killing friends.

Do yourself a favor and read this book and this entire series, you'll be glad you did!

There isn't a way to give 4.5 stars or I would. I only read books that I can get into quickly and read enjoyably. The author here put enough history into the book and enough of a story. I am a middle-aged woman and I didn't mind one bit that the heroine is 18. It really is a great book you should not hesitate a bit. It is just as good as any other vampire series that I have read and I've read them all. No need to name drop this will be a fantastic series and I'm already buying book 2. And for those who have KU it is going to be a blast because they are included these books in the series! Enjoy and share the news!

Book one meeting friends

This is the second time I have read from this author. He is very good at thinking outside the box for a main storyline, Craig zerf's focus on his writing is for action and mystery and war battles.(a little love interest sometimes)
I think it would be even better if there was more love interest and some banter humour because it's very dark and heavy at times.
This new series is about Emily (I did feel it was another version of Cassandra Clare shadow hunter series but darker, they had Angel blood that made them supernatural) not sure if I like William as a love interest.

A great series to read

I normally don't leave a review especially on a series book as you never know how the series will go. This time I had to come back after I finished reading the series and write this review. Even though its more of the series then just book 1.
Book1 is 5* in my mind as is the whole series. You already can read what each book is a book in the description so no point in going over that so if the description interest you its a great series an I recommend you read it.

Just ok.

If you're a fan of Buffy, Blade and maybe even Twilight and you are looking for something light and fan fictiony then I'd highly recommend this. If you're looking for something original or surprising then maybe keep looking.
Wasn't bad (for a freebie) but didn't grab me and insist I read until I've the series finished. Picks up towards the end.

Note this is not a stand alone. But that said it is a good book. Emily At the age of 18 is drafted into A secret organization called the Shadowhunters who hunt down and destroy vampires But the vampires Are striking back Big time. First book in a series. 4 Stars (I only give 5 stars to stand alone's ☺)

Emily Shadowhunter

A teenage girl unites with a powerful group of people, a shape shifter, a goddess, and a vampire to rid the world of humanity's greatest threat. A clean paranormal romance perfect to introduce young readers to the genre.

Worth the read

A bit overdone with the repeated miracle saves for our heroine, but still a good read. The characters were fairly engaging and believable. A little rocky at the start, but once you get past the first chapter the plot flowed really well.

Suprise Arthurian - Celtic deity story set in modern UK

I originally chose this book as a werewolf themed read. I was pleasantly surprised with it's complexity as the story developed.
I would recommend this book

Loved this book! Emily did irritate me a few times by being a know it all and thinking she could not be beat. William was fantastic and I intend to read the follow up which I don't usually do.

The fighting scenes were well-done. They were understandable even to me and I am normally uninterested in this kind of stuff. That's all I can say about this book.

Nope.

The is a line in the first chapter.
Muscles like burlap bags stuffed with eels.
I kid you not. That is why I threw up my hands in disgust.

Okay

Well written, however, it is very predictable. There is minimal character development. It jumps from frying pan to fire and back.

Different than expected

Different than expected but in a good way. A intriguing beginning to a series which draws you in so that I now have to read it to see how it will end.
