A sorcerer, a rebel, and a whole kingdom under fire...
As the sorcerer's new apprentice, Kia's fiery temper is bound to get her into hot water. Evander is obnoxious, arrogant, intolerable, and undeniably the most beautiful elf alive. Even if she passes his relentless testing, working at his side just might kill her. Worse, her master has powerful enemies inside the palace. When their attacks turn personal, the sorcerer's apprentice becomes the perfect bait in a deadly trap set to destroy the man who has become far more than just her boss. Two lost souls must defend their world, but even if they save the kingdom, they risk losing each other forever.

I enjoyed reading The Sorcerers Apprentice. There was always something going on, never a dull moment. Full of action and adventure. However, there were a lot of elements that made this read like a romance but the romance was lacking. And I'm a romance reader so I was kind of disappointed. We understand Evander and Kia like each other because they are constantly thinking it to themselves but they don't show it very often. I would have liked to have seen more moments that gave reason to their liking each other rather than just being told that they do. We see it a bit more with Evander as he catches Kia in the mirror, admires her ass while she's dusting, and catches his breath when he sees her for the dance. But Kia never really shows why she would be attracted to Evander other than when she's bragging about his brilliance to Gerard, though she tells us often. Hate to pick apart this cute and fun book but the romance is my favorite part :) The ending was quite romantic though so I was able to finish the book with a squeee! With all that being said, I still found it a fun read. It always kept my interest with all the action and magic going on and I think other readers would like it too!
This is one of my favourite books of all time. It's a good job it's an e-book as a physical book would have fallen apart with how many times I've re-read it. Kia is wisked from the school of magic to try out as the apprentice to the royal sorcerer. Even before she can learn enough to prove herself worthy she is attacked by a member of the court, the wife of a rival sorcerer.
This was a fairly short read but thoroughly enjoyable. It has all the best things in it - magic, hairy men and sexy sorcerers. I only wish it was longer.
