From genetically modified foods to human cloning, aspects of genetic engineering (modifying genes of living things in the laboratory) stir up strong feelings and lively debate. This timely anthology presents overviews and pro and con viewpoints on such subjects as genetic engineering in agriculture, engineering of human genes, and regulation of genetic engineering.
There was only one impassioned, quotable, and intelligent article in this book. Having read quite a few books on the subject by now, I have understandably fallen to comparing them. This one, I'm sorry to say, is not high on my list. I wish to learn something new and gain a new perspective when I open these books offering a diverse collection of articles both in support and in opposition to genetic engineering. Nope, nope, nope.
