Her life intersects with that of Lisa Rayburn, a clinical psychologist who has just found evidence that abused women are going missing in the Milwaukee area. When the police inform Lisa that without hard evidence, they cannot open an investigation, she joins TJ on a mission to reveal foul play at work in the disappearances. TJ and Lisa put their lives on the line as they attempt to unearth a devious serial killer.
In the next two books of the series, TRESPASS and GIRL UNDONE, TJ and Lisa maintain their friendship and use their skills to uncover a cold case from the past and a deadly plot by a serial killer against a crime blogger.
Marla Madison currently works part-time doing arbitration for the the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
Hard at work now as an author, she is writing her sixth novel of suspense. Her first series, the TJ Peacock & Lisa Rayburn suspense series, has three editions out, the third, Girl Undone, has just been released. Marla is currently working on the third novel in her second suspense series which spotlights Detective Kendall Halsrud.
At home in Northwestern Wisconsin, Marla lives on Prairie Lake with her significant other, Terry, a beloved shelter-dog, Skygge, and Poncho, an opinionated feline from the same shelter who believes he is the boss of everything.
Some of her favorite things are playing duplicate and tournament bridge, golf, reading, pontooning, and taking long walks with her dog.
Well, i trudged through and was disappointed with the ending and how easy it was to kidnap the kid right out from under their noses. Great idea, costume party so they couldn't recognize the suspect with all that security around. A lot of good it did, waltz right in as Elvis, "thank you very much!". I'll take that kid with me and you can't stop me even when you are pointing a gun right at me. Bang bang, bye bye. I've had all i can take of the voluptuous TJ Peacock. Got tired of the description of every men that crossed her path had to ogle her in some way, boobs, butt, eyes.....whatever. I'm over it and moving on to hopefully better things. If those of you choose to read on, more power to ya! Her climax just wasn't climactic enough for me. Bang bang, bye bye.
Peacock and Rayburn - with their band of investigating cohorts - are an interesting team. Seemingly with nothing in common, they forge a friendship based first on the mutual goal of finding a murderer, which soon develops into mutual respect and true friendship.
Filled with vibrant characters and hair-raising dangers, Madison’s tales will keep you turning pages fervently.
I really enjoyed this series. There were a few gaps in some of the storylines, parts that had seemingly been missed when reading but on re-reading found it wasn't the case. Other then that this series is a great read for anyone who likes mystery and a bit of suspense with a personal life touch from the characters.
i thought this series was just going to keep me busy, but no! i became engrossed in the story. what a wonderful writer. ms. madison knows how to lure you in and keep you coming back for more. highly recommend to people who enjoy a well thought out plot and a whirwind chase.
Entertaining series especially if you live in Wisconsin! It’s fun to have places you’re familiar with come alive in the pages of a book and the storyline is good and characters believable.
Excellent reads from the first three books of the strong female PI and Therapist TJ Peacock and Lisa Rayburn suspense novels. I was so engaged in them I read them straight through! No sleeping until I was finished!
Really enjoyed these first 3 books in this series. The characters are believable and dedicated. Recommend this box set to all lovers of suspense, mystery and twists in plot. Well written. Gave 5 stars because the books were great.
I liked the characters, especially as they interact with each other. I liked the 3 various, though linked, plots. Too much murder. Good writing, holds together well, makes you want to read the next volume!
Good box set of how these two women took it upon themselves to get involved. With teaching about abused woman when a student shows her a graph on the rise of abuse and quickly disappeared. Finding it was true, these two risk it all to bring justice. Well done.
These stories kept you on your toes until the end. Lots of action and suspense. Great keeping up with the relationships and see where they were going. Can't wait to read more of the exploits of TJ Pescock.
In this three book set, women are missing or murdered, and TJ and Lisa work to find out what happened. Other plots occur where their safety is in jeopardy. Figuring out who the evil creeps are is hard work.
These are three great books. They are murder mysteries with plenty of twists. There is plenty good police procedure and the author inserts some very good psychology.
I enjoyed these three books in a boxed set. Easy to read, always with medical and personal details of some sort to be examined and then investigated. Great tales.
Tried to read the first book but found it impossible to follow. Far too many characters, without any seeming input. Narrative jumped around in short bursts. Deleted a d won't bother with the other books in the series.
I love this writing style. Kept my interest without giving away the story. Realistic plot twists. Will definitely look for more books from this writer.
