After a painfully failed marriage, the sting of rejection still aching even a year later, Juliana had sworn off relationships. Despite pressure from her sister to get back out there, she was happy to keep to herself in the little coastal town of Port Charlotte. She focused on improving the lives of her students - if she couldn't do anything to improve her own. That all changed when she met Mark in the most unlikely of situations: at the receiving end of a brutally honest parent teacher meeting. He was smart, handsome, and falling for her, despite his instincts telling him not to. Juliana finds herself struggling between keeping up the walls that she's built to protect her heart, or taking another chance to learn what love is again.
This book was just ok. It was a bit slow. When it finally picked up, the H was such a jerk and then the h was the one that had to do the chasing. I felt like he didn't even try a bit, it was all her doing the running after him time after time. Didn't like that at all.
The story was fine. The writing was a bit sophomoric except the sex scene which was way more graphic than need be. I was able to finish the book, but will not read more in the series.
