"Some stuck up New York reporter coming down here to get all up in our shit...that's the last goddamn thing I need..."

Ella

Lain Abernathy is an arrogant, emotionally stunted asshole. The fact that he's the hottest guy I've ever laid eyes on is neither here nor there - I'm stuck with him babysitting me for a whole freakin' week while I try and get a story on his gang, the Blue Devils MC, and Lain seems determined to make my life as difficult as possible. To make matters worse, this Arizona desert heat makes it feel like I've stepped right into hell...

But when I discover that Brock, the Blue Devils leader and Lain's childhood best friend, has made a deal with Mexican sex traffickers, I know that this story isn't just a puff piece anymore. The deeper in I get, the more dangerous things become, and the more I rely on Lain to keep me safe.

Everything about him is danger...I shouldn't want him, and I don't need him. Trouble is, I just can't help myself...

Lain

As soon as Brock told me she was coming, I knew she was going to be trouble. I don't know why the fuck he invited a reporter down to do some stupid piece on us the week of a huge guns deal with the Chupacabras, but I do know that somehow I've landed the job of babysitting this entitled New York hack.

There's just one problem...she's hot. Curves in ALL the right places and legs that just don't quit. And while her accent is like nails on a chalkboard, what she's saying to me is making me question all my preconceptions about her.

When she discovers what Brock is really up to with the Chupacabras, I know that things are over between him and me. I need to take back control of the Blue Devils, but Brock ain't gonna go down without a fight.

As for Ella...she'll be mine, even if she doesn't know it yet.

***Lain is the first book in the new Blue Devils MC series. It's a full-length standalone romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

This is the  story  of Lain, the vice-president of the Blue Devils MC and Ella, a reporter for the Pout Magazine heart-felt love story with many twist and turns. There were many twists I never saw coming and it left a readers on edge. Ella was sent to Copper Lode, Arizona to write a story about the Blue Devils MC with the approval of Brock, the president of the club. Brock was completely crazy, deadly and money hungry, he made an agreement with the Chupacabra MC to smuggler guns across the borders to a club that trafficking young girls for sale and kept most of the important factor from Lain. Brock and Lain is childhood friends but Lain felt like an outsider in his own club which lead to a division within the club. He was given the job of baby-sitting Ella due to the deal with the Chupacabra coming up. The initial encounter was "you're gorgeous but crazy as h**l only later to lead up to a full blown inevitable attraction. this story had my full attention because of the great writing and storyline. I love Sentinel but this one takes the award now! The interactions and intimacy between these two characters made me swoon and laugh out loud. They both needed each other, at the exact moment in which their paths cross....their lives had a need in it!! I'm so looking forward to the next book in this series.

I was given this book for an honest review. My copy of the book stopped halfway through Chapter 23, so I can only review what I was able to read. Ella is a reporter who was sent to Arizona to do a fluff piece on Brock, the leader of the motorcycle club, and make him look good. Brock is an evil, mean, and nasty. When he took over as president he got the club into drug and gun runn i ng, and he beats the women he sleeps with. Because of a big gun runnig job coming up, he pushes Ella onto Lain, the vice president of the club. At first I didn't like Lain. The way he talked about sleeping with "sheep" who would gangbang the rest of the club just for a hit of crack. He was complicent in the gun and drug running, and the job coming up was to sell guns to another motorcycle club who abduct grade school girls and sell them into prostitution. How could I like such an evil person. As the book goes on though, you find that Lain is conflicted about what the president of the club, Brock, had gotten the club into, and that there was a divide between the motorcycle club members. Lain's love and respect for his mom, and his growing feelings for Ella star to humanize him and redem him in my eyes. Just as the book was getting good, my review stopped partway through chapter 23, so I don't know what happened. Hopefully Lain comes out as the good guy.

Ella is a reporter for POUT magazine, she writes puff pieces despite these sore to be an investigative reporter, so when she is sent to write an idealistic piece about a motorcycle club Blue Devils, and especially its President Brock, she decides this is her chance to launch her career. Lain is Blue Devils VP, and he can't believe that Brock has asked a stuck up reporter to come and write about his club, and especially hates it that he has to baby sit her. When Brock fobs Ella off to Lain, they discover that sometimes things aren't what they seem, and there are other facts to take into account.
Lain and Ella were both enjoyable characters, both with preconceived ideas of how life should and would go. Ashley has done a fantastic job of making the readers connect with both of them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the bonus story just added to the awesome value of this book, but I must admit, for me I'm looking forward to the next installment in the Blue Devils MC series.

Lain is the story of Lain, the vice-president of the Blue Devils MC, and Ella, a reporter for Pout Magazine. Taking advantage of the popularity of Sons of Anarchy, Ella has been sent to from NYC to Arizona to do a sexy, fluff piece on the MC for her magazine. She has plans to do an investigative piece as well. Her timing couldn't be better/worse because the Blue Devils have their biggest illegal deal about to go down and there is tension in the club. Ella nd Lain have an immediate connection, but other than a few amazing nights where can it go? Their homes are across the country, she's a reporter, and he's into illegal activities. Still...

The writing was good, but I woud have liked even more depth. The conversations and events came close, but I wanted more detail, more conversations, more sex, more feelings. The characters were good and their connection was good. I look forward to continuing with the club. I hope Rush has his own story.

Ella is sent to interview the Blue Devils and do a "fluff piece" on Brock the President of the club.
Things in the club are not what they seem and Lain is stuck showing her around and keeping her from asking to many questions.
Brock is a piece of work and is wanting the club to start doing more illegal deals. Lain and Ella have quick chemistry and when Lain is told to take her to the airport he breaks her heart with his words. Ella dries her eyes and decides to spy and gather info on what is really going on with the Blue Devils. What she finds out chills her and she tells Lain that leads to a split war with in the Devils.
This is a gripping and fast read. Truly enjoyed it and look forward to more in this series

Great writing, likable characters, awesome first story in a terrific series! I loved this romance about Blue Devil MC VP, Lain, and reporter, Ella. They are hot, hot, hot! I got very caught up in this book and couldn't put it down. I jumped into book two, Rush, right away, which helped lesson my book hangover. This is the first book I have read by Ashley Rhodes and I am so impressed with her storytelling, that I can't think of enough good things to say. This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys MC romances. I loved it.

When Lain meets Ella, she's blown all his preconceived notions out of the water. She's nothing like the snobby NYC reporter he thought she'd be. She keeps sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and Lain keeps saving her ass. A truly sexy read full of action and twists. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book for an honest review.
Ella is given an opportunity to write a real article instead of fluff for a change about a motorcycle gang. But the timing couldn't be worse.
Lain is the VP to Brock that set up the interview and is now babysitting Ella as well.
Sparks fly and tension rise. An amazing story.
The bonus story is great as well.

A very exciting Read!

Lain has twists and turns and a body reporter to go with all that. I love the strong heroine in this book. She's tenacious, doesn't back down and no is not in her vocabulary. Lain is a confused man who knows what he wants for his club but to get it he has to go against his childhood friend. The bonus book ain't to bad either.
