Two words people...Vote Landry. I know I am! It's no secret that in the real world election season divides people. It's full of slimeball politicians, heated debates and crazy antics but Adriana Locke gives us another side to that. A fun side. A sexy side. A sweet side. Yes, the main character in Sway is a politician and he deals with his fair share of controversy but this book is so much more than that. It has everything; laugh-out loud banter, swoon-worthy moments and just enough angst to make this a well-balanced contemporary romance. Oh, and some VERY HOT moments. I will never look at grapes the same way again. Enough said.

Barrett Landry is the Mayor of Savannah, currently running for Governor. When he meets Alison, he isn't looking to settle down, isn't looking for any kind of relationship. His plate is full with his current duties as Mayor and the election he's involved in. But Alison isn't like the other people in his world. She's not looking for what he can do for her. She isn't all fake smiles, and insincere words. After meeting this waitress at one of his Gala's he can't get her out of his mind. Should be simple right? A dapper politician should be able to get any woman he wants. Except nothing about getting Alison to agree to his advances is easy. Even with their undeniable chemistry, it's going to take a lot of hard work and a little humility to get this single mom to agree to see him again.

I typically fall for the bad-boys, the blue collar guys, so I wasn't expecting to love Barrett as much as I did. I should've known better. Adriana Locke has never let me down. Barrett is all charm and no doubt sexy as hell. He's driven and determined. But underneath is a man with a good heart. A man who wants to be different in his world of fake people and lies. It's impossible not to be 'swayed' by him. Trust me, he'll have your vote too!

Alison has this special quality about her, she's classy but it's understated and never feels pretentious, she still comes across as down to earth. This woman is strong. She's a single mom who has been through a lot but has come out the other side better, stronger, and determined not to end up in the same situation she was in. She's a hard worker and fighting to make something of herself, to create a good life for her son. She relateable and I love that in a heroine.

No surprise that Adriana's secondary characters are just as loveable as the main ones. This is something I've come to know about her writing. She will make you fall in love with everybody. Alison's son Huxley is so special. This kid is funny and completely charming. But the way he loves and protects his mom, the things he's able to see and recognize at such a young age are what gave him a permanent place in my heart. I fell for all the Landry brothers, for the whole family, but I have a small (or not so small) obsession with the youngest, Lincoln Landry. With his smartass mouth, sexy smirk and baseball metaphors... I NEED his book. Like yesterday.

Sway is the first book in what promises to be a great series! I can't wait to get to know the rest of the Landry family. If you're looking for a love story that will make you laugh, make you swoon and just might melt the pages of your Kindle, a lighter read that still makes you FEEL, then I highly recommend this one.

Such a fun, sweet and sexy read with the right amount of angst moments and a little bit of drama! I really enjoyed Barrett and Alison's story! It's a light and refreshing story about a single mother and a politician!
Allison is the kind of character that is easily to like her from the beginning! She is sweet, funny and strong! And Barrett is smart, super hot, gentleman and cocky! I loved seeing how their relationship grew.There was tension and sparks between them! Their steamy moments were super hot! The secondary characters are also nice and gave an interesting note to the story!

This is a new series from a new author to me and I'm intrigued to see what the author has in store for us! I liked the writing and the story line that kept my interest till the end! Super excited for the next book!

I'm over the moon excited about this series. Adriana Locke has set a solid foundation for a family series. There's something here for everyone. A politician, an athlete, a military hero. Need I go on?
The dynamic in a series like this is so important. The relationships that are forged that you hope to continue to witness throughout the series are what keep you wanting more and these characters don't disappoint. If you love a series that revolves around a family you've hit gold with the Landrys!
Alison isn't new to the political scene which is exactly why she wants no part of it. She's been burned before and the stakes are even higher now that she has her son to consider. Getting involved with Barrett Landry isn't in anyone's best interest.
Barrett Landry has a reputation. He's never made apologies for being seen with beautiful women. But with election season upon him he may want to rethink his routine. No one wants to see the governor's mansion turn into a playboy mansion. Surrounded by trusted advisors he's told that maybe now isn't the right time to be interested in a woman with a child. But he refuses to go another day allowing his career to dictate his personal life.

➦Well, this was lovely. I'm going to do a very short review because, well, got ARCs breathing down my neck.
➦I've read the first two books in this series back to back in preparation for
which is coming out in Feb, 2017. Very much enjoyed them both.
➦If you enjoy romances with politicians for heroes then do check this book out. This particular Landry brother, Barrett, is a mayor and he's running for governor. He is in the middle of a very intense campaign when he runs into Alison at one of the events.
➦Alison is working the event as one of the waitresses and she immediately catches Barrett's eye. But Alison doesn't trust politicians and so she flat out refuses his advances. Protecting her privacy and a privacy of her 10 year old son are of utmost importance to her.
➦Why is Alison a single mother and so mistrusting?
➦Will Barrett continue to persue her?
➦So... I usually am not the biggest fan of single parent romances. I often feel like authors use kids to play on our emotions... :D But in the case of this particular second chance story I didn't mind it one bit and it was tastefully done. I might have cried a little. #emo
➦Solid read. Good amount of steam, lovely character development, not drawn out. Me like. Me recommend.

Alison Baker knows how evil the media can be. Knows the lies they can spin and how they can ruin someones life. So she has no desire to ever be in the limelight again. Instead, she keeps her head down, works her two jobs, goes to school, and takes care of her son, Huxley.
Then she meets Barrett Landry and her perfect life starts to seem a little boring and need of some spice. As badly as she wants to take a risk and go wild with Barrett, she has more than just herself to think about. So Barrett will just have to convince her that sometimes taking a risk is the best choice a person can make.
I was a little hesitant to start Sway because I'm not a huge fan of political romances but my friend convinced me that I would fall in lust with Barrett so then I just couldn't stay away. I'm glad that I gave it a chance because I ended up enjoying the story very much and Barrett was certainly the hot piece of ass I was told he would be.
I can't say I was in love with Alison or anything, but I did like that she was so independent. She wouldn't just accept help from Barrett, and instead made sure she was still able to do things on her own. She wasn't afraid to show that she had a backbone and I loved seeing her unwilling to back down from doing what she thought was right.
Barrett was the main reason for reading this story, and he definitely did not disappoint. I loved how he had this air about him that spoke of authority, and yet he never used it to intimidate Alison into doing what he wanted. Yes, I love my possessive Alpha heroes, but I also love heroes like Barrett, the ones that show their strength by stepping back and allowing their women to do as they please without being all growly about it.
Not only was Barrett really likable, his whole family was. I can already tell that this is going to be a great series since the characters are so interesting to me. I loved that we got to meet them, but they didn't overshadow Alison or Barrett. Instead we got just enough hints about them to keep us on the edge of our seats, waiting for the next book.

I love reading series that center around families and I just know I’m going to love this Landry clan! Barrett Landry is a politician, and he has siblings. One is a soldier and one is a pro athlete (I can’t wait to read those books, too!) and I loved all the Landry clan!
Alison is a single mom who doesn’t do drama and isn’t interested in dating anyone in the spotlight. She’s had enough of both to last a lifetime and she doesn’t want it for her, or her son Huxley. She works hard, goes to school part time, and does her best. Then she meets Barrett Landry. Barrett is enamored with Alison in a way he never is taken by a woman. The last thing Barrett needs right now is a woman in his life. He’s in the middle of a campaign and it’s not something that is going to help, but he can’t stay away from Alison. She makes his life so much better. He can be himself with her.
I loved Alison and Barrett together. I could understand the hesitance they both had, Alison especially, and I really rooted for them to get together and work it out. I listened to the audio book of Sway and it was narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. These two make an amazing duo and feed off one another perfectly.
This book pulled me in and kept me interested all the way through. It was sweet, sexy, romantic, and I can’t wait to read more from this author and the Landry family.

Wonderful book. I love every minute of it. Adriana Locke is a great love storyteller. I already can not wait for the next book about further siblings. It will be an incredible series!
About the plot: The Mayor of Savannah, Barrett Landry is a full package. He is this, handsome and charming politician who is on the run to the gubernatorial election. Everyone wants a piece of him or gain something from him. He is determined, but tired of deceitful and devious political campaign.
Alison Baker is a single mother. She focuses full attention on her ten years old son, Huxley and on building a stable and happy life for them. She works at restaurant during the day and go to school for journalism, also has a second job in catering. On one of these catering job at the event for the campaign, she catches the eye of the mayor.
Barrett would like to know better this fascinating woman, but Alison, despite a strong attraction, do not intend to bend. She was married to a high-ranking judge in Albuquerque, and she knows perfectly well what its means being associated with such a man. It once ended up bad for her and she will not take the risk for the second time, no matter how much would like to.
For Barrett, this also is not the best time for new romances. But he found something in her, what gives him peace of mind and balance, and is willing to risk everything to take a chance with her. Therefore he is not going to give up and performs a spectacular chase after her.
Final thoughts: This book is a fantastic surprise. Smile, excitement, shock, melting heart. These are just some of the emotions that accompanied me while reading.
I finally read about a hero who fights for a woman by all means. He stands firmly against everyone and everything. And also an independent woman who does not give up after the first look and nice words. I absolutely love this moment of the story, in which she is strong and independent, and he have to work hard that she took a risk in him. It is thanks to her independence and his intensity that they create such magnificent heroes.
Of course, not everything went smoothly and waiting for them many potholes. It was all very realistic. From the beginning, the relationship was fantastically built in a very real way. Everything had its purpose and order. They have wonderful chemistry and funny testing and innuendo create a successful storyline. And it's sexy as hell. This already famous scene with grapes! Holly Hell! How? What!? Wow.
What always stands out in the best books are not less best secondary characters. Main, secondary, all have their great role in this story. Mr. Mayor has a real hit siblings. Star baseball, check! Sexy military man, check! Serious bussnesmen, check! Stylish and generous sister, check! Her twin artistic and crazy sister, check! Check, check, check! This book has everything! Before you go crazy big plus for the introduction characters in progressive way. We know some more, others less, thanks to this there is no chaos. Well done! This family promises incredible series.
And I have not even begun to write about Huxley! Each scene with Huxley guaranteed a hit. My heart melts, I laugh to tears. This little guy is perfect! His interactions with Barrett are priceless.
Adriana goes high up in the list of my favorite authors. With a clear conscience I can say that it is another very successful book of her. It could be the imperfect/perfect family. It could be Huxley. It could be this wonderful romantic plot. And it could simply be these grapes... And certainly it all together meant that this book is excellent. Can I ask for another faster? There is no pressure at all!

DNF at 39%. I was on the fence about whether I'd be able to finish this book anyway, but the very first sex scene includes 'bursting' grapes inside her?? Seriously?? First, eww.
Second, grapes are pretty sturdy- they would take a lot of pressing to burst, so yeah, "Thanks for bruising my vaginal walls, jerkface".
Third, how do you get all the grape pieces out? "Thanks for the good time honey, let's stop at Walgreens and buy some douches on the way home"!
Fourth, better grab some Monistat while you're there cause you know that's gonna turn into a yeast infection.
Bottom line, stop sticking food-stuffs in vajayjays...

I really enjoyed this one! It was a wee bit predictable and the drama bordered on OTT, but I didn't really mind because I loved the characters and the romance between them.
Also, before I begin, I have to mention this... I will never look at grapes the same way again! Holy shit that first sex scene was hot...
Anyway, moving on...

He was definitely someone you'd classify as a manwhore, and while I've been becoming less and less thrilled with this characteristic in my heroes, I didn't have much of a problem with it here. His reasons weren't as crass or demeaning as the other manwhore heroes I've read about. Barrett just didn't have time and he trusted very few people. But once Alison comes along, he completely changes his tune. He doesn't try to push her away and he never misses his old life. Barrett completely focuses on Alison. And he even though he's pursuing her, he doesn't treat her like property or force here into anything.
"I won't ask you again. I don't want to pressure you and that's not at all what I'm trying to do. I just . . . is it cheesy for me to say I just want to spend time with you?"
"I have to play this right. She's not another woman in my life that I won't care if I see tomorrow or not. She's the woman in my life."
"It doesn’t matter how you fill in that blank because, like you said, they're just words. And no word could ever fill the spot you take up in my life. So call me your boyfriend or the mayor or an asshole for what happened today, but I'm still yours, however you want to define that."
"Are you happy?" he asks me.Dreamy, right? Barrett was pretty close to perfect for me <3

Alison is a single mom who has been burned by a politician before. So Barrett, the mayor currently running for governor, is the last person she should be getting involved with.
"Once you've been burned by someone, the scars never leave. They become more sensitive to the same type of fire that got you once, tingling when you get too close to the heat. And as much as I'm starting to really, really adore Barrett Landry, the sensation is still there that maybe this is another fire."But she can't help being immediately lured in by him. I will say, she fangirled pretty hard in the beginning (I know a few of my friends are bothered by this), but she does learn to stand up for herself. The second he treats her poorly (by accident, he genuinely didn't mean to be rude and he was so cute apologizing/groveling!), she walks away. She's not petty or playing games, she just knows her worth and I really appreciated that. Even when she starts dating him, she doesn't lay her problems on him. Alison is completely dedicated to being self sufficient.
"I just don't need a knight in shining armor. In my world I am the knight. I'm the one that saves the day."Words can't express how much I loved this line!
This was a sweet, sexy, and easy read. If you're an Adriana Locke, I definitely think you'll enjoy it :) I especially loved how the conflict at the end played out and was resolved. I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know the other Landry brothers <3 <3

5 'Speak as you find' Stars!
I am starting to get why many of my book friends love this series so much! Actually, this is not my first read by Adriana Locke (it's the second! lol) but I already love her writing and the love stories she writes. Her Landry series is VERY much known in the book comunity and now I totally understand why because I've fallen in love with this amazing family!
Sway is the first installment in the Landry Family series and it tells the story of the oldest Landry sibling (a sexy Mayor who is kind of a manwhore and needs to behave himself in order to win the election) and a single mother who is very sassy and loves her son immensely but she also happens to have a lot of that love ready for said Mayor!
“I want a chance to win you over,” he breathes, peering at me. The way his eyes search mine make it seem like time stands still. “Will you let me try?”
This book was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love Adriana's writing style, how she developed the love story, the outstanding characters she is creating in the series and the out-of-this-world chemistry that Barrett and Alison have. I absolutely love series based on families, it gaves me all the feels to see so much love and support within a family and Sway definitely portrays that!

Of course, apart from this fantastic family, the novel also has an adorable kid in it (Huxley) and the main couple (who you will fall in love with!). I’ve worked for this moment with her. For a life. For a future that’s for me and not everyone around me. And I have it. I have her.
Therefore, I am rating Sway with 5 STARS because it was an amazing start to this series and I can't wait to read all the other siblings' love stories! I adored everything and that emotional ending made it even better! Highly recommend this one, without a shadow of a doubt!

Being the Mayor of Savannah,Barrett has been living his political dream. He wants to make a difference and help people and that means being the new Governer of his State. It doesn't hurt that he's rich,sexy and comes from from a good family or the fact that women literally drops their panties everytime he speaks. What more can he possibly want out of life right? He has it all but fate is about to give him something that he never realized he wanted.
Alison Baker is a single mom. Her entire life revolves around her ten year old Hux and keeping him safe and happy is her number one priority. Working two jobs and being in school doesn't leave much time for a social or love life but she's okay with that. Meeting the Mayor wasn't supposed to have a sudden impact on her or her lady parts but you can always expect the unexpected. Barrett wants her and she's made it clear that she wants to be no part of his world. Been there,done that,she's got the emotinal scars to prove it. But Barrett isn't giving up and one way or another, he's going to have her.

I really liked certain parts of this story. Barrett was like a breath of fresh air for me and I appreciated that. He was very charming and he didn't waste any time in saying or getting what he wanted. He loved his job, his family and his able to bring some humor in the most unlikely scenes. I also loved his relationship with Hux. He was very respectful and treated him like a growing adult that mattered.
What I didn't like was the OTT drama and Alison's reaction to it. I felt like she jumped to conclusions waaaay to fast and that pissed me off. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely felt for her and I understood why she would feel that way, but she made it worse for herself and I wished she would've done the opposite.
That being said, this is the first book in the series and I'm looking forward to Lincoln's story because I absolutely LOVED him! And let me just say to Barrett, I will NEVER look at grapes at the same way again! That was one of the hottest scenes I've ever read! LAWD HELP ME.

December 5, 2017I'm DNFing this one, but “without prejudice”. I knew it was outside my wheelhouse when I started so dinging it for turning out to be outside my wheelhouse just seems harsh. The thing is that both characters are very sexually aware and are in a constant state of arousal and desire. Which wouldn’t be so bad, but they’re also graphic, explicit, and, to me at any rate, rather crude.
Which is a shame because Locke is a decent writer and the characters are interesting, the setup has lots of juicy conflict, and the chemistry is there, even if it’s masked by lots of body parts. So even as I was interested in the story and characters, I found myself editing out a constant stream of lust to access the parts I liked.
To illustrate the mismatch, I laughed out loud as the two main characters make an agreement to “take it slow” just before ripping each other’s clothes off. And I even get that they’re talking about emotional commitment and the frequency and “profile” of their being together (for the sake of his political career and her son). Ahhh! This story is a breath of fresh air. Reading was smooth, no bad grammar, no misspelled words. An easy peasy wonderful read. This is my first read for this Author and I love her writing skills. Her characters were well developed and very real. The love story between a mayor and an ordinary woman with a child was beautiful. This is an introduction to the Landry family. This will make an excellent series. I highly recommend this read. There is a couple of hot sex scenes which I loved!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five stars it is!!

This one had so much potential, but I felt like the actions and feelings were forced. The writing was mediocre - flat. The execution was very weak. Of course it had the annoying friend, Lola, that pushed sex at every opportunity.

Barrett loves that Allison does not want him like so many other women for his money and "fame". Allison is not looking for anyone who is known to the public. She already had a relationship like that with her ex-husband who was a judge. Barrett wants Allison, but Allison is leery and so the story starts from there.
I love stories with politicians. One of my favorite series is OFF THE RECORD by K.A. Linde. So I was excited to find this one. Plus, I was excited they did not get together immediately after meeting and that there was some chasing, but it was a flop for me. I really don't understand all the high ratings for this one. I should have checked whether those reviews were ARCs before I picked this one up.

Not another romance with "not like other girls/women" female character shining like a pure diamond among the sea of shallow, "ditzy", harpy-like exes/flings that hero used to go for.
Not another romance with alpha hero, who is in fact not an "alpha" but just your average asshole who thinks he's a god's gift to women when in fact he's more of a blight.
Things that didn't click for me in this book and ruined whatever romance there was to like:
✘ objectifying women - like how about we refrain from hero (and possible future heroes) saying stuff like this:
"Oh, I bet it's so hard to stick your cock in THAT."
She's not a fucking plastic doll, no matter how much effort the author goes to underline how inferior she is to the heroine, so like...switch "that" to "HER/SHE" and at least have the decency to be gross to HER as a human being, not a freaking object.
✘ No more stuff like this, please:
"On a good day she's borderline clingy after a fuck. When she's drunk, it's only worse."
How about - don't be disgusting and don't have sex with her when she's drunk? *steam coming out of ears*
Also...ffs, this was written in 2016, not in 1995, authors, do better, please. Not only when writing how the hero treats the heroine but ALL female characters?
✘ heroine is the most special pure snowflake, all other women (as in exes of the hero) are trash
"I love that she has the confidence to not just be another girl."
I mean...what does it say about your romance and chemistry of the couple if you need to put down all the female characters that the hero interacts with (aside from family/friend of the heroine) or has ever had any kind of relationship/interaction with (and by "interaction" I mean sex) to hype up your heroine and just how special she is to the hero, HOW DIFFERENT?
Like...it IS possible to have a hero who had lots of flings and never had a serious relationship and have him be a total goner for the heroine and make it believable WITHOUT writing all the other women as inferior, suggesting they are somehow "cheap" and basically without having this utterly sexist division of two types of women: Good and Bad or "Only Good for Sex" vs. "Good Enough to Marry"
(you can't see it but I'm rolling my eyes so hard, I can barely type)
✘ Barrett's personality for 50% of this book was basically arrogant + being a playboy, that's it. And I don't mind that the hero or the heroine sleep around, I seriously couldn't care less but he was so...slimy about it?
Like for one, as I mentioned, that was most of his personality and he didn't have much else going on for him, because despite author spoonfeeding me how desirable he is and how every single woman wants him, I was like...WHERE I CAN'T SEE IT
And worst of all, even after he gets with the heroine, he's still being gross/slimy, e.g. there's a scene where he goes into the restaurant and comes across a hostess and he recalls how he fucked her against his car the last time he was at that restaurant and he's being all "well, I would go for it against if it weren't for h" - SO GRACIOUS of him, she's SO SO LUCKY. That was not even the only scene like that, and while I get that monogamy doesn't mean attraction to other people simply dies, that was not even what bothered me, he didn't even come off as attracted to them but this was again some lazy attempt to show how great the hero was and how these women are nothing compared to what he has now.
✘ yeast infection is not sexy! Like...put fingers in your vagina. Put dildo or other toys in your vagina, I'm here for sex scenes like that. But can we please agree that sex scenes with FOOD being put in there are JUST. NOT. IT.
I'm sure it was supposed to be sexy??? But all I worried about as hero was putting sticky grapes in heroine and then popping them inside her was that he didn't even get them out? He just proceeded to have sex with her? We are told she got the grapes out later but...how???!
I don't actually want to know how, I just want to know WHY.
There were other slimy things that probably need pointing out, like:
- Barrett being written as the victim to all these women who kept going to the press with false pregnancy stories etc., I'm sorry, am I supposed to feel bad for this "poor" powerful politician with generations of wealth accumulated in his pocket?
- Barrett being lowkey blackmailed by this Daphne character, which was gross of her, but he fights back with threatening to send her naked selfies to the press (that she'd sent to him) - which is not only gross, I'm pretty sure it's a crime in some states
Yup...so there's that.

I LOVED IT. I freaking loved and devoured every single moment of this book. I can't even. I think this is the first I've ever read that has something to do with politics and Adriana Locke just nailed it. I was swayed and hooked and addicted right from the very beginning. Barrett Landry and Alison Baker were just too perfect together. And then add Huxley and the other Landry family members to the mix and it just goes well above and beyond. I already want to read it again and it hasn't even been two minutes of me finishing the book yet!
Barrett Landry. Holy God almighty, Mayor Landry. Can you be any classier, hotter, smarter, sweeter??? One thing I know for sure—you've definitely, definitely got my vote. A hundred and ten percent. I loved all things about this man. He may have not handled everything right the first time, but who the heck does that? Those bumps on the road just made him even more desirable for me. You'll see how hard he strives to achieve his goals, he does his best to make things happen, he learns from his mistakes, he sets his priorities straight and best of all, he loves so fiercely, generously and so passionately. The way he accepted and intertwined Alison and Huxley into his life is enough to melt even the coldest and hardest of hearts. He may be a powerful member of the community, but with his family, with Alison, he's just another regular man in love. And Alison Baker—gosh, the things she went through in the past was just downright cruel that nobody deserves to experience. All of her fears and insecurities aside, she's still one of the strongest, bravest women I've ever read about. Especially with Huxley. She's had a hard life since she had him, juggling studying and working a couple of jobs, wearing herself down to the last thread. Yet she never stopped pushing and being determined to see her way through for her and Hux. I certainly felt and understood her doubts. And oh my goodness, did I mention Huxley? I love that boy something fierce! I don't think I've ever loved nor adored a kid like him this much. Ever. He makes my heart soar and over the top happy that it wants to just burst into sparkles all over. He's such a great kid. I love how protective he is of his mom. How he's so mature fora ten-year old an almost eleven-year old to understand what's going on and act the way he does. It's like the entire time, I was thinking: I want my kid to be just like this boy. You feel deep to your core how much he loves and puts his mom first and above anything. And that alone is such a huge accomplishment for any mother.
With Sway being the first book in this series, I loved how each Landry sibling was introduced and I truly enjoyed the diversity in the family. The closeness and tight bond they have is just amazing. It actually makes you crave to be one or a part of them. Without an ounce of doubt, I'm already looking forward to the following books after this one. Barrett has set the bar so high up that I'm sure the next ones will be just as great or even better than this. That being said, I'm so excited to know Lincoln's story!

My first read by Adriana Locke and absolutely not my last. I loved everything about this book. It had it all ... it had warmth and sweetness, fun and sexiness and it gave me an overall feeling of loyalty. She covered a lot of bases with this story and she did it flawlessly. I can't wait to devour the rest of this series along with many more of Adriana's books!

I've spent a few days trying to think what my favourite thing about this book was. I mean Barrett Landry is Hot. he's a dickhead at times but we all love a bit of a bad boy don't we? he's sexy yet sweet. He has a filthy mouth and let me tell you, the things he can do with a fruit bowl? almost enough to make me bite my lip.
Allison is the kind of character that could easily have been trounced by Barrett. I loved that she held her own. As overwhelming as Barrett could be, she held up as a strong female. seeing them find a dynamic that worked was lovely. Allison's son Huxley is a perfect addition to the story
a perfect dose of drama and an amazing set of side characters make this another 5 star read.

The writing is confident but not cocky. it's paced perfectly and you really get the feeling that Adriana knows what she wants from her characters. This is the first book in a new series and I'm seriously excited to get more Landrys in my life.

Sway is the first book of Adriana Locke's new Landry Family Series. This book is about Barrett Landry, the oldest of six kids, who is also the Mayor of Savannah. He is currently a candidate in an election to become the next Governor of the state of Georgia. Alison is a single mom who is working two jobs to pay for school and provide a stable life for her son Huxley.
Barrett and Alison first meet at a banquet where Alison is working as a waitress. Pretty cliche right? Rich guy and "making ends meet" waitress meet at a party and fall in love. No, this book was so much more than that. First Barrett was a pretty decent guy for a politician. He was such a gentleman and down to earth. Alison was a very strong woman who always put her son first. After their first meeting Alison is hesitant to become involved with Barrett because of her past. I love that she acts responsible and isn't all over him.
"You make me better. Don't you see that? You make me feel like I can conquer the world, Alison. You make me smile, give me little glimpses of something I'd never considered before."
I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and how Barrett's family, especially his brother Linc was with Huxley. There were some hiccups in their relationship but that was to be expected. Some of them Barrett handled great others not so much. I love the Landry family and can't wait to read about them. I am really happy we are getting Linc's book next. Summarized this book is a great start to an awesome series with amazing characters.

not because it's problematic...it's just unsexy to me. i mean, wtf am i supposed to think while reading that? also, the fact he was a hotshot politician and a huge womaniser, but suddenly does a complete 180 upon meeting the heroine for the first time seemed a bit too cheesy and unrealistic to me. i wanted more tension and character development.

"My son doesn't like girls!" I exclaim.
"Give it time," Barrett chuckles. "They'll be calling your phone all hours of the night."
"I'm not ready for that," I say, feeling a bit of panic.
"I don't even have a gun."

This is definitely one of my favorite books by Adriana Locke! I enjoyed it a lot and I'll continue reading the series for sure!
I loved Barrett and Alison together, I loved Huxley and all of the side characters and I'm really interested in reading their stories! It was an original and well written story, although I'm not really sure how I feel about the grapes... 🍇
I can't say much more other than that I enjoyed it a lot and I highly recommend this book!

I confess I did not really like the hero at the beginning of the story, but he was growing up as a human being and turned out to be a cool guy.
Our heroine is full of issues due to her ex, but she's cool. Cute kid.
