This is the 3rd edition of the first book in the Valhalla series. Recent changes were made so various parts of the interior of the Kansas more accurately reflects the actual interior and equipment of a Virginia Class Submarine.

A modern Virginia Class submarine, the USS Kansas (SSN 799), finds itself drawn into an oceanic wormhole and ends up in the ocean of another planet, named Valhalla by its natives. The wormholes have trapped ships, boats and airplanes over the years, including other submarines, occasionally with survivors. The crew of the Kansas quickly finds out that Valhalla is no heaven. They discover an oppressive society created by ancestors of Soviet sub sailors who arrived from Earth in 1962, right at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Follow the USS Kansas and its crew of 133 men and three women as they battle to prevent the Soviets from returning to Earth to cause unspeakable damage with their Valhalla technology. Fortunately, the crew of the Kansas is not alone; they have help from rebel natives and the Chinese.

Interesting plot

Very good read. My only negative comments would be about the amount of time and words spent in ship moves and firings sequence s. But that's just me.
