This is a hot read from start to finish. Joy and Warren have this attraction that has been percolating for months and is now ready to be acted on. They both enjoy BDSM and his invitation to his club is eagerly accepted.

While the story is a pretty quick read, the author develops a great story and characters that I really enjoyed getting to know. Joy and Warren make a great couple. They are both alphas but she is willing to submit during sex. They both enjoy having their limits tested.

Joy is a smart, strong woman and I enjoyed seeing her portrayed as a woman to be admired. Warren respected her intelligence and did not discount her abilities. I also liked that he stood up for her when needed and gave her room to shine. Warren took responsibility for his mistakes too.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Joy Sutherland was the only one left alive from her old pack and she came to Timmins where she believes she has another chance to make a good life for herself, she was a female alpha with the previous alpha even though they were not mated but now in Timmins she has been attracted to the alpha from day one and she has not made one free in all this time. She finds out that Warren the alpha has made sure that no one has bothered her but it was really because he wanted her but didn't want to have to kill his own wolves because of his true mate, not realizing what he was doing he alienated her from the packed. This is more of a steamy BDSM romantic storyline. Characters are interesting . I received this book as a gift from the author without obligation.

I've been reading Elianne Adams books a while with Kindle Unlimited and to this date she hasn't yet disappointed me in her stories. Take this book for example, it does take a little bit to heat up, but by the end I was more than satisfied with the story.

Joy is a female wolf shifter who was all set to become the female alpha of her pack. She and the pack alpha, while they weren't true mates, got along very well with each other. After an errand for another wolf, Joy returns to find her pack wiped out, so all she has left are memories. So she left, and was accepted into a new pack, but most of the packmates won't even acknowledge her. She fights an increasing attraction to her new alpha Warren, but unless she can get along with the rest of the pack she doesn't see being able to act on it.

Warren has been pushing her, also fighting this same attraction. During their first bout of training, he growled off the other men in the gym who were looking at her too long, and decided that their training should be one-on-one. Joy doesn't realize that because of his warning, the other males avoid her. She finally snaps at Warren during training, and he is hoping that the cause was cause she was attracted to him and asks her to meet him at a certain place.

Will these two be able to work with their passion for each other, or was it a relationship doomed from the start? I guess you will have to read the book to find out cause I have to leave some secrets left to be discovered. I don;t think you would regret picking up the book.

Joy has to join a new pack after her former pack is killed she was a joint alpha even though she wasn't mated to the other alpha. She is attracted to Warren the alpha of the Eryma Pack that she has joined but he doesn't seem interested. What she doesn't know is that he is interested he wants her as his mate but wants to give her time to settle into her new pack before he makes his move. There is plenty of hot BDSM action in this book to keep the pages turning because not only is Warren an alpha but he is also a Dom while Joy may be an alpha but she is sexually submissive the perfect combination if they can just get their act together. will Warren makes his move and claim his mate for ever after

I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review

Thoroughly enjoyable story with likeable characters.
The BDSM was entertaining in that it was part of the story but not the whole and complimented well.
Loved this pack and hope Ms Adams is going to give us more about them in the future. Want to know what happens re the land purchase.
I have read this book previously but have been given it by the author for an honest review.

Joy joins the new pack after the loss of her entire pack and it just so happens that the Alpha of her new pack, Warren, shares Joy's affinity for BDSM. Their attraction is palpable but one of the things I admired most about Warren is the space he gave Joy to heal after her loss. The thing is can his pack ever accept her?

This is the first book I have read by Ms Adams and I am incredibly glad that I signed up for this ARC as I like nothing more than identifying a new author who becomes a must have for my library. The characters are well-crafted and incredibly charismatic and the story line will tug at your heart strings and the chemistry between them burns up the pages.

I enjoyed reading this book it was a quick fun read Joy has joined the eryma pack after her previous pack was killed. Although Warren was interested in joy he wanted to let her grieve and settle in.

The book has a bdsm aspect with joy being sexually submissive as well as being a female alpha. Warren is pack leader and a dom.
The bdsm was tastefully and hotly explored and lent an edge to the book.

I enjoyed this quick read. Great paranormal story with an unexpected BDSM twist. I think this is the first time that I have read a book with those two elements combined. The combination worked. I thought this story had great writing, great characters and a good storyline. My only complaint is that the story ended and I want more with these characters.

Fun short story of Alpha's - Joy and Warren - Joy is a new addition to Warrens pack and they avoided their attraction while Joy recovers from the loss of her old pack. When they do come together - fire works!!! I did not see the D/s coming - but it was fun and sexy - I will be looking for the rest of this series and hope they are not all short stories!!

An okay read.

Fairly well written, but didn't drag me in. I'd read more from the author in the future. Two stars and two wet panties.

*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*

Black Velvet was a short but sexy read and I really enjoyed it. Joy and Warren had explosive chemistry from beginning to end. There was a small element of BDSM involving spanking, paddling and bondage but I think it added a little originality to this shifter book. I liked Joy; she's a strong alpha and I loved how she put Moira in her rightful place. Warren made me laugh with his jealous glares and warning potential males away from Joy.

An alpha wolf who moon lights as a Dom is believable. An alpha wolf who enters into a D/s agreement as the sub? Hmm, lemme think on that.

Black Velvet had some interesting elements. Some worked really well. Some did not fit with what I envisioned.

Overall it was ok. A little too steep in the sexual gratification for a possible stand-alone. Definitely more world building would have gone a long way.

Will it stop me from investing in another Elianne Adams book? Nah. It's just me curious on what else she can cook up.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Black Velvet by Elianne Adams is a stand alone read that would definitely make a yummy series starter. There is no cliffhanger ending - there are just amazing secondary characters that I would love to see again. This steamy and sexy read is Joy and Warren's story and the chemistry between the characters just pulls you into the story. I really enjoyed that Joy is a strong female heroine that knows what she wants. This is a Mature Readers Only Read. (Think a much softer version of 50 Shades of Gray with shifters.) I highly recommend this quick, feel good read.

A she-wolf goes through the horror of her pack being decimated by another one. Not much is said about her grief as the story starts 6-7 months after incorporating in another pack. Black Velvet is a BDSM club. You only see. still somewhat clean, what goes on between the two Alphas (M/F). It's a good story but it seems to be part of a grander picture, like it's a prequel, but doesn't finish in a cliffhanger; it's just missing something.

Black Velvet

This is the first time I have read anything from this author. I was pleasantly surprised. Strong characters, great storyline, but I felt it ended a little too quickly. It would have been nice what they did concerning finding their land, but I guess that gives her a twist for a continued storyline with more fascinating characters.

Sizzling hot! New to the pack Joy is unable to connect with the members of the pack. Is it her ? Even the Alpha, Warren, doesn't seem that interested or is he? Received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I had such high hopes for this story… There were definitely some good parts, but he basically had her alienated from the pack for 7 months and she just lets it go like it’s no big deal. I found that so incredibly frustrating. Maybe if it wasn’t a novella it would have been expanded on.

Even though this is not my type of a book I give kudos to the author. It is a complete book at 83 pages but I will state I'd like to know more about some of the other characters from the story.

Patty Warren and Joy as pack Alphas I don't think you could go wrong. Now that Moira was a piece of cake and I'd like to know if there's a book for her story out there.

SEDUCTIVE AND SINFULLY SEXY !!!
Title: Black Velvet
Author: Elianne Adams
Designation: Standalone Short Novella originally released as part of The Alpha Fever Box Set, NO Cliffhanger
My Rating: FIVE DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING STARS
Wow! This was definitely different than the usual fare from Elianne Adams but I really liked it - a lot! I'm a huge Elianne Adams fan and when she releases a story, I have my one-click finger ready. Anyone remotely familiar with my reviews probably knows how much I love bundles. And just what does that have to do with Black Velvet? Well, I'm glad you asked. It was originally released in the Alpha Fever Box Set released in March 2016. I read the pre-release scene for Black Velvet entitled Alpha's Temptation which was included in the Alpha Heat prequel teaser set and was thrilled to see the new direction Adams was taking with her writing in this paranormal romance. I could hardly wait for the release of the Alpha Heat Collection so I could read the complete story and Adams did not disappoint. I found Black Velvet to be an exciting, seductive, well crafted standalone novella-length paranormal romance with a beautifully written narrative in the third person with both his and her points of view from the two protagonists, Akino pack survivor and newest member of the Eryma Pack, Joy Sutherland, and Warren, the hot as hades and very dominant alpha of the Eryma Pack of Timmins. And when I say dominant, I do mean that statement quite literally since he's a Dom. Oh yes - as in BDSM! Oh my! And the chemistry between these two characters is so hot, it sizzles! But there's so much more to this story than just the hot sex, romance and BDSM elements. There's actually a great plot generously laced with danger, drama, suspense, action and even a little humor woven in as well as an engaging cast of characters. Adams is an exceptionally gifted storyteller who knows how to captivate her reader and spin a tale that is guaranteed to capture your heart.

So, what did I love about this story? How about - everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing but I want more! Personally, I thought the pack's nasty shewolf mean-girl got off too easy. I would so have unleashed a can of whupbutt on her scrawny self but that's just how I roll! lol... Would I recommend this story? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does include some steamy, dreamy sex! *swoon* It was definitely hot! Will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! Was I entertained? Duh....Is this a trick question? Of course, I was entertained! I loved it! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

I actually read the first few pages of this book in the Alpha Heat series, which was 21 sample reads to several stories, I wanted to read Alpha’s Temptation after reading over the sample blurb. Sadly, I couldn’t find it anywhere and had to contact the author directly to ask her. That is how I found out the book was now called Black Velvet…. I automatically pre-ordered the book with Amazon.

Alpha’s Temptation being renamed Black Velvet, is puzzling to me but I figured the author had her reasons even though it will confuse the readers trying to find this book if they were interested in reading it after the little tease in Alpha Heat.

Black Velvet begins just like Alpha’s Temptation, but only in the first couple of page then it is off in a different direction. I was actually looking for that gut wrenching scene with Warren in his office but that doesn’t exist in Black Velvet. I would have loved to have seen Warren's reaction when Max told him Joy said NO and the reason why but it didn't happen. I had hoped to learn more about Joy’s old pack, but there was just a little mentioned.

I understand the sexual chemistry between Joy and Warren but that is all there was to them. Warren makes his intentions known by inviting Joy to Black Velvet which is a BDSM club and of course the scorned EX is there. There was no build up between Joy and Warren, just the sexual encounter. The author tried to develop a little drama with an EX but it was lame. Warren makes sure every male stays away from her and blocks her from making friends for 7 months, what kind of mate does that? What type of Alpha would make a member of his pack miserable? But he was allowed to have sex? Then without build up suddenly they were mates and getting married. Who are the other members of the pack and what are their roles? Who were the hunters? Were they found? Did they have anything to do with the person selling property? Who are Sullivan and Torrin? What is the deal with Nickie? Jamie is related to the ex?

Did I miss something? NO, because none of these questions were answered.

Sadly, I am left feeling more than a little disappointed and robbed because THIS was NOT a $3.00 book, it was a quick read, zero depth and no real story except for the play and even that was lame.

when joy has no real other choice but to leave her old ground because of her complete pack being slaughtered, she ends up with Eryma pack. she knew the first few days were going to be settling in, but when she started training she started noticing that everyone in the pack was avoiding her, not even making eye contact, a hello or a wave. like she didn't exist for them. the only one who finally stepped up and actually worked out with her alone was the pack alpha warren. her wolf is very interested in him but if the pack wouldn't even acknowledge her then why would the alpha?
after a strenuous training session joy can't help but be frustrated, training didn't ease one bit of the stress that was building up inside of her. in the heat of the moment she admits to warren what she really wants. his reaction isn't what she was expecting but when he returns with a tiny piece of paper and a simple request to be there at a certain hour to solve all her problems she starts having a little bit of hope.
when she finally is able to enter "black velvet" her hopes grow even more, when she goes over the D/s contract she can't help but be giddy. Warren is a Dom! could this be the HEA she was looking for?
join joy and warren as they come together as master and servant, see how the battle through their feelings of acceptance in search of that one thing they all want : happiness.

this isn't hardcore bdsm! it's light and easy, rules are discussed and respected! things i very much like to see incorporated when it even hints at anything BDSM related. writing is make belief but for so many people reading a book is like escaping reality into another reality that feels just as real. i enjoyed how they learned from and with each other, boundaries, rules. and then there is the pack to keep in consideration too because warren is the alpha after all.
so many little things that make a simple thing very complicated.
but i really enjoyed reading this book and i can only hope, because we saw a few familiar pack people inside the club, this isn't the last one in this world!

Black Velvet by Elianne Adams
Adult Erotic Paranormal Romance Suspense
It is a very short read but well written. I only found 1 typo, and the story flows well.
I enjoyed it, but I do have a few issues with it.
There are some items that are left unanswered and I can not find a book 2. Which means those questions will not have answers. Anyone who reads this review that knows of another book related to this one, I would appreciate it if you can let me know. I would love to read more about this world Ms. Adams created.
It is a bit unclear as to how Warren's Pack came to be where they are and who the bad guys are.
What happened to the bad guys who destroyed Joy's old pack? That much death definitely gets some kind of attention.
What happened with the bad guys who attacked them in this story? Who. what and why on said 'bad guys' is not given at all.
I would have liked a little more elaboration on these issues.

Joy's old pack all died. Alpha Warren's pack took her in, but he told them to give her time to grieve before everyone goes and swarms her, man logic. She needs to feel pack all around her, but he took them all away. He then became interested in her as a mate and started growling at any man who came by her.
She took up boxing because Warren liked it. She was hoping it would give them something to talk about Then he had everyone band from the area when he was working with her.
He invited her to a club. What type of club was it? Did he have everyone band from there also? I volunteered to review this ARC book using my own opinion.

Joy joins Eryma Pack after her previous Pack was killed.
Warren has wanted Joy from start but after becoming a member Warren wanted her to settle in before trying to see if she's be interested in mating.
This book has a BDSM aspect and Warren is a Dom as well the Pack Alpha. Joy is a female Alpha but also sexually submissive. This book is incredibly hot especially the BDSM parts between Joy and Warren.
Great start to a great HEA shifters story's

Having read a teaser I couldn't wait to read the book, although I felt a bit off kilter waiting for the inclusion of teaser. This is the first Elianne book I have read. I loved the strength of characters, from the Alpha to the Omega, each personality was thought through and perfectly matched to the scene and plot. The story was short but sassy. A great read
