More of Mae Forester’s nephews! Grizzly bear shifters steam up the pages in these swoon-worthy paranormal romances. From trespassers with hidden agendas to curvaceous women who are ready to take a chance, the stories in this collection will capture your heart.
Cross

Cross del Cruz is a former Compliance Enforcer with the Shifter Council. He did his duty. He enforced the Council’s will around the country and even out of the country. Stress the word former, because all he wants now is to be left alone. He’s been living in his cabin on Bear Canyon Mountain Range, overlooking Bear Canyon Valley and enjoying the solitude of the forest. The quiet. The simplicity. The drama free environment that doesn’t involve other shifters. Not even family.
Except now Mae Forester, who has dubbed him as one of her “nephews” has decided she needs his help. He can’t turn Mae down, not when she gave him and his brothers a home during the worst days of their lives.
He didn’t expect Ariadne Fueller. Who could ever expect that curvy spitfire. She flipped his world upside down.
Before meeting her, Cross never would have called his existence lonely—until he met her.
Lance

Lance del Cruz has just finished his tour with the Shifter Council Compliance Unit. Being an Enforcer wasn’t difficult, it was too easy, actually. He’s had his share of hunting rovers and doling out justice for the Shifter Council. He’s going home to the cabin he’s only managed to visit in short spurts for the last four years while he served the Council.
He’s making one stop on the way to the cabin, to say hi to Mae, the one who gave Cross and his brothers a home during their younger, darker days.
Except Mae has a favor to ask him. And there’s this other little complication… A luscious, curvy thing called Mac—short for MacKenzie. Damned if he can resist her.

Judge

Judge del Cruz followed in his older brothers’ footsteps, serving in the Shifter Compliance Unit. He never thought much about returning to the mountain range where he spent so much of his teen years. Those were the happiest days of his life, but being an Enforcer allows him to stay too busy to dwell on any of his past.
But the call to return to Bear Canyon Mountain Range is too powerful. So he packs up, ready to see his own cabin at the top of the range.
What he didn’t plan on, seeing, the curvy bootilicious Alanna who pushes his buttons, in all the wrong ways—and yet by damn, in all the right ones too!

BBW Paranormal Shape Shifter Romance
If hot sex skeeves you out, you may want to pass on this book.
If freaky, downright dirty sexy talk bothers you, yeah, for sure you gotta pass on this one.
We believe in sex--hot, dirty, delicious sex.
Yup, make it sweaty, too. It's not just sex, it's about the romance.
But good romance has sex, and we keep the doors open! Oh, and the lights on! ;)

Really enjoyed these brothers!

Cross, Lance and Judge...and Griz...and the women who loved them and trained them.
Quick fast stories that kept my interest.
Highly recommend!

Only one complaint...too short!

Elle Thorne's box set Barely After Dark, is part of her Shifters Forever World. It features three orphaned brothers who finally find peace and love in a place called Bear Valley Canyon. As always Elle Thorne has created a mystical world that has the reader longing to escape to forested mountains far from the hustle and bustle of reality. Her alpha male characters are more than a little rough around the edges. Yet, when they meet their forever mate, strong women, who have survived tragedy and are longing for peace themselves, Elle's male shifters, soften ,becoming better men in the process. It's romance at its best! Something Elle Thorne excels at!
My only complaint is each novel is way too short! You just begin to get caught up in the drama, falling in love with her marvelous characters when suddenly, the problem is resolved and the story ends. It's like climbing that last steep part of the roller coaster ride, cresting the top to hang there just a second, before taking the steep fast downward plunge, that ends with an abrupt whiplash stop at the bottom. Oh what a crazy ride but much to quick!
At any rate, Elle Thorne's Shifter Worlds are always a pleasure to read. Most are available in boxed sets which makes them affordable as well as convenient. I highly recommend you read Barely After Dark by Elle Thorne. I am sure you too will fall in love with her Shifter Forever Worlds!

Short stories with little depth but enjoyable. Read through KU.
I pick up this authors books every now and then.
I had read Cross before but didn’t remember it.
Three brothers who all join the SCU. Each has a story to tell.
What I find with this author is the fact you are sort of expected to know who these people are by having read all her previous books.
They entertain me for a short while but are lacking a depth that I like in my stories.
CROSS
Best of the three but a sad story.
Woman on the run with evidence of a murder committed by her fiancé.
Really sad about the person killed.
Special enforcer type shifter helps her.
Liked both the H’s.
LANCE
Lance has his mate and then just left her for FOUR years whilst he went off to do secret shifter enforcer stuff.
Mackenzie is entitled to be angry but after all of five minutes she forgives him.
Dislike the going back in time to show their relationship.
JUDGE
Okay and different.
Not enough depth to the story for me.
Poor Pepper.
Not sure about how these people deal with baddies. Liked what they did with the crazy elemental, swift justice but why not do the same to the shifter who was equally to blame.

First book of the set was the best of the three. I consider it light bathroom reading. It was enjoyable.
The second book had a lot more emotional turmoil for the main characters, however after a semi-traumatic event the female character manages to forgive and forget prior wrongs and instantly gets over all frustration and anger without any need for discussion or explanation. I can suspend my disbelief for many things but the emotional responses of the characters need to make sense. The main female character had been abandoned several times in her life and she is instantly over it!!!!! Come on!!!
The third book started out ok but once again I had an issue where the female character is 7 1/2 months pregnant and no one noticed until she goes into labour!!!!
The plots and characters in these books are not deep or complicated It would not be hard to write a tighter better story. There were a few loose ends never resolved, also lazy or sloppy writing

Not bad for a quick read but did not live up to its potential.

I bought the box set of books 1-3 in this series. If I'd bought the first as a standalone, I likely wouldn't have read the others. The stories themselves were a good concept but they felt very rushed. I read all three in one sitting. There was so much more that could have been done with these stories. So much detail and potentially interesting backstory and action, which was swept aside.
Editorially, all three books could have benefited from another pass through. Characters behaved in ways which seemed unlikely, which interrupted the overall flow. Grammatical errors were overlooked.
Overall not bad for a quick read but did not live up to its potential.

Good

I enjoyed this set. I'm sure I missed some things by not reading Elle Thorne's previous books, mostly names and relationships. With that being said, this series was good. There was a good balance between romance and action. The stories were short, they could have been fleshed out a little more, for more detail, relationship and action. Overall I enjoyed it.

Great set of stories

Another great series, they all did find their mate's but none of it was easy, but the had two helpers that they didn't know was there for them all their lives. I hope that Larson gets to find his one and only mate to.

Okay but

The stories although well constructed were too short and needed more twists and turns

Great!

I really enjoyed this short series. The stories never lagged and were enjoyable. Shifters, family, love, sexy time, action. I finished the trio in a day. A great light read

Nice read!

Great pacing in the stories. The characters are very likable. There is a little suspense, some romance and the predictable misunderstandings. An enjoyable read.

Mating fever...

This set of books is dramatic, action filled and sexy as hell. There are many twists and turns that leave you panting for more. There is a whole saga to this Mating Fever. I'm intrigued enough to read more.
