Blood Courtesans #2

Wanted: Corynne

Rate this book
Welcome to the shadow world of Blood Courtesans... where vampires are real and blood is a financial asset. This is the world I live in.
I don't care about the money I'll make as a blood courtesan. I need the vampires to protect me from other humans. And more than that, from myself. Any time I think about getting revenge against the bullies who've tortured me, the thing I imagine happens. I have no way to control it. And the latest incident has put me in the middle of a murder investigation. I have to convince them to turn me into a vampire. I can't be tried for murder if I'm already dead. Or...undead.

In the vampire world, blood is money and sex is everything. But when my power catches the attention of the oldest, most powerful vampire in the coven, he'll do anything to make me his.

Nash doesn't have to look me in the eye to cast a spell over me. And I don't even have to look at him to know he wants me.

I'll either be Nash's secret weapon--or the downfall of his coven.

Kristen Strassel is far cooler than she’ll make herself sound in this bio. She enjoys spending time with the voices in her head—nudging the characters toward those bad decisions and a happily ever after. When she’s not writing, she’s often still in the land of make-believe—doing makeup for film and television. And when she’s not doing any of that, she enjoys making her house look like a Pinterest board, watching football, and road trips to the middle of nowhere.

One way to deal with bullies is to become a vampire…LOL…she had been bullied to the point of murder and was counting on becoming a courtesan, offering blood and sex, to find a place to belong in this action packed story that filled all my bloody needs.

What can I say I just didn't like "Wanted" from the Blood Courtesan series.

Andrea Davis/Corynne is running from the police. Corynne has unusual powers that can kill people. She decides she needs to be turned into a vampire to escape the police. The only way she can become a vampire is by becoming a blood courtesan.

Nash is over 600 years old an is head of the council and clan of Vampires. He bids at the Blood Courtesan auction for Andrea/Corynne. Nash feels her usual and dark powers and wants them for himself.

Ok the problem I had with the story was it is not cohesive and the plot with Oscar a demented vampire and his clan of vampire who live in a forest was a minute long but was never resolved.

I don't recommend "Wanted" by Kristen Strassel. Bk 1 Reborn was really good. I will read books 3 and 4 because I have already bought and downloaded them. I hope they make more sense then "Wanted"

Very good

I am finding these blood courtesan books to be really good. The stories are wonderful. Onto the next book, I like that it doesn't matter what order you read them in and they definitely hold my interest.

OMG!

Nash is SEXY and Corryn it’s beautiful. This book is hot with a touch of sweetness which brings the romance to the story. I recommend and hope there are more stories like this one.

An Exciting story in the Blood Courtesan series!!

Corynne has a secret - she has a dark power. When she is bullied in high school what she imagines in retribution really happens! Her best friends outs her, and she is glad to finally put high school and the bullies behind her. While working as a barista, her ex-best friend comes in to the shop and begins to publicly bad-mouth her and later ends up dead from a poisoned drink. Now Corynne is on the run.

Corynne wants to join the blood courtesans, but ultimately to be “turned” into a vampire to escape the police. Nash is a 600-year-old vampire who does not normally bid at auctions, but feels the power within Corynne. Nash ultimately creates a long-term contract with Corynne. Corynne makes helping those who helped her upon entering the blood courtesans a condition of the contract. The two vampires who assisted her preparation; Sabrina and Sierra. And the blood courtesan who gave her tips; Olivia. Olivia was in her third auction, and this was her last chance – Olivia is bid on, but at the minimum price, and she seems to have disappeared.

Besides the relationship that develops between Corynne and Nash which is provocative and incendiary, this blood courtesan story delves into the vampire power structure, the responsibilities of turning someone, and the mystery and danger of what happened to Olivia.

Completely captivating read – thoroughly enjoyable!!

Not quite right.
This is the 3rd book I have read in this series I hate to say it but none of the books are getting it quite right like Ms Fox did in Reborn.
This story was okay but I thought Corynne was just too young at 18. Did not connect with her.
Nash, oh yeah, connected with him.
I understood the premise of her "power" but I felt like it was not really resolved. Switching negative thoughts to positive thoughts just didn't cut it.
I think this series is not coming together like I thought it would. Maybe this will change in some of the other books.
What happens to these contracts? Do they end when they become mates? Answers are needed because it is not just in this book it is not explained.
I felt there was no real conclusion but we did find out more about the workings of the Coven
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I've been on a vamp kick lately and was ecstatic when Kristen Strassel mentioned her upcoming release, WANTED. I devoured this story in two afternoons and could have easily done so in one, but didn't want the story to end. Kristen took the century-old typical vampire story and turned it into a fresh story that I raved about to my mother when I was finished. I truly hope that Kristen continues Corynne and Nash's story. I'm itching to know what happens next!

WANTED is part of the Blood Courtesans collection organized by author Michelle Fox and you can bet I'll be picking up the rest!

Attention grabber

I really like Corynne and I hoped she would find her way with Nash. I was really getting into the vampire story and couldn't wait to delve into the storyline. The characters are intriguing and I never knew what was going to happen next. I liked the fact it was a short story because of the way it was written fast and steady. However the ending left a lot to be desired. I was hoping for an ending that would lead to other characters within the coven. That is definitely not what I got! I want to go back and make sure I read it correctly because it left many characters in the air especially with the dynamics of Corrynne and Nash.

Interesting story

So I did like the premise of this story but some things just fell flat for me. Corynne was a character you could feel for but she had her flaws that were hard for me to get over. The whole coven thing and the way Nash treated her was strange and it didn't feel close to anything like love and devotion. So, I finished the book but I wanted more.

First and foremost, I have to say that I felt robbed. Why? Well, the first book in this series ended with a cliffhanger and at the end of it, it reference the new book that would continue to the story and it was listed at book 2. Unfortunately, book two: "Wanted: Corynne" is about a whole different character. That was okay at first because I figure maybe the two stories would eventually intertwine but they didn't and quite honestly, I just didn't care for this second book.

Corynne has strange powers that emerge when she is angry. When her so called best friend betrays her the police discover the girl dead. Now Corynne is on the run and looking to become a courtesan to vampires. She is lucky when she is picked by Nash. He is enchanted by her but also recognizes her for the power she possesses. He makes her his own but not before another vampire tries to take Corynne from him. Quite honestly I just did not feel the connection between Nash and Corynne. There just wasn't any chemistry for me. In addition and despite the short length of this read, it dragged on and on.

I guess I will never get an ending to the first book and I definitely won't be going on to other books in the series. Too many different authors and too many approaches.

I feel like I just got whiplash after reading this book.

Corynne/Andrea Davis has a power that is taking over her life. She's now wanted for murder of her ex best friend. So naturally she runs to the vampires to become a blood courtesan.

Nash is a 600 year old vampire and has been fighting his feelings of loneliness since the loss of his mate. When he participates in the bidding of blood courtesans he bids and outrageous amount on Corynne because he can feel her power and he craves it.

The story just didn't come together for me. One minute everything is rainbows and sexy time and the next Nash is talking about punishing her because, heaven forbid Corynne have survival instincts!

The issue with Oscar is kind of just left open and never resolved. I'm not sure if this problem continues throughout some of the other series, but from reading of the summary's I don't think so.
I also didn't quite understand why she was so determined for Nash to dress like a "college student" when meeting her family. Especially considering they already knows she's with the vampires...??

Well this book started off well enough and Corynne was a bold character who would challenge Nash. Nash is an age old vampire and who is taken with his courtesan and wants to keep her at all costs, so the premise of this story and the potential war with Oscar should have given this tale plenty of bite. Sadly things didn't quite work out that way, there were great holes in the plot, things just seemed to have happened over night with no explanation. For example at one stage Nash tells Corynne she cannot be turned until she can control her power, then in the next chapter she is being turned and we have no idea how she got there. The story then jumps to Corynne after her change and she is now living as a Vampire, there is no mention of her change (other than she was unconscious for a week), or how she copes in her first few weeks after transition. The other thing I found odd is that before she was changed Oscar glamoured her and snatched her however Nah found them and took her back without any fight from Oscar.
Could have been really good but failed to deliver on so many levels.

Nash and Corynne

Nash is the Lord of a coven in NYC, where they hold auctions for blood courtesans. Corynne is on the run for her life after a former friend is poisoned and she's blamed. Her answer is to first become a blood courtesan and to disappear into the vampire world, where she will ask to be turned. When Nash bids on her, she doesn't realize what it means, only that she's one step closer to her goal.

This book provides a different spin on the blood courtesan world than some of the others in the series. It has a more insular feel and, possibly as a result, it never developed an emotional connection.

Wanting to be Vampire

Imagine if you need to disappear from the life that you lead due to the fact that bad things always seem to happen around you. Andrea has been accused of murder and must hide but she also knows that she has dark side to her that she can't control. She becomes Corynne and applies to be a blood courtesan so that ultimately she can become a vampire. Readers should enjoy this book which I would highly recommend as they follow the tale of two people who will have an impact on each others life.

Loving these courtesans

Awesome series love the storyline. Although you can read in any order or just one, it's better to read in order...for me. I eat up series because I love the characters and all their drama filled mysterys, suspense, diabolical enemies and the way they fall hard for each other. Love me some Kristen Strassel. Read almost all her books
This one was tender and emotional.

Vampires

I love this series. Another good book. Corynne and Nash are really likeable. I will say there was a few times she kept asking to be turned that started to get on my nerves. I did enjoy the way the book turned out.

Captivating

A very intriguing book. I was left wanting more to read. I am going to try another blood courtesan book, they are stand alones. I am interested to compare the next book to the first one. I could totally read another book with the original characters though.

Ugh, I did not like this one at all. I can't stand Corynne. Nothing about her endeared me enough to want to continue reading about her. I DNF'd at about 40 something %. Other books in this series were good so I'll continue reading.

Interesting read, not sure what I thought about it, I did not dislike it, but might have to read it again, to make sure I did not miss anything. Characters were interesting and easy to like, the plot or story had me a tad lost, but not that hard to follow.

Left a bit to b desired

This story was different then a few of the other books bc of the auction. Corynnes friends situation was sad glad she stood up for her. The love story was alright it wasn't as romantic as some of the others out felt more clinical than loving.

Good story

I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!

Through our the book I encountered:
Poor sentence structure.
Too many grammatical errors.
I felt is if there was no defined crisis to the story so therefore no real resolution.
