This book was insanely hot. As in "let me re-read that scene again" hot. Lol Caroline and Wash are representing a serial killer and in the process end up finding more than just the truth. I figured out early on who it was but the experience of getting there was still pretty awesome. I liked Wash a lot. I didn't think I would based on his role the previous book. I enjoyed watching him trying to resist the pull from Caroline. I respected Caroline for not settling and wanting more for herself. These two together have great chemistry. The story was well written and the characterization was fleshed and developed well. The plot was interesting with great pacing. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing though sometimes the h has to flirt to get their case going. Neither are Vs. No condoms. No rape but there is the threat of it. There is physical abuse towards the end.

Caroline Montreat is a first year associate at the law firm, Palmer & Granade. She has a fiery personality along with a witty sense of humor and a non-existent filter. Upon earning the privilege to be second chair on the Bayou Butcher case, Caroline works under her mentor but has to control her feelings toward the devastatingly handsome Wash Granade.

“And his words…his words were enough to poof my panties far enough away that they’d send me a postcard in a couple of weeks.”

Washington Granade is known for being a hard-ass but a successful defense attorney. Always focused on his career and keeping personal relationships at arm’s length, Wash doesn’t know how to handle his attraction to his associate, Caroline. With the firm’s strict non-fraternization policy, Wash is put to the test.

“What had I been thinking? I hadn’t, and that was the problem. I’d just been mouth-fucked an associate, and in the office, no less.”

While working on this big case, Wash and Caroline get much closer acquainted. Caroline isn’t above flirtation by dressing on the provocative but professional side to garner Wash’s appreciative eye. Since Wash is sex on a stick, all he has to do is breath and panties melt, so needless to say, the sexual tension between Wash and Caroline is palpable. Once they surrender to their attraction, it is hot!

“When you do ask me to kiss these perfect lips” –he rant his thumb over my mouth—I’m going to do a lot more than that. I’m going to take all of you.”

description

As we learned in Bad Bitch, Wash’s past affects how he views relationships but with Caroline, he cannot stay away. Caroline’s humor and easy way offers balance to Wash’s no-nonsense approach to life. As their investigation and case preparation continues, Caroline proves she is an ally with a keen legal mind. Hot on the trail, Caroline discovers key information that could absolve their client, but puts her in danger.

Hardass is definitely an entertaining read. Within the first few pages, I wanted to be friends with Caroline and get to know Wash carnally. Lol. For an employee-employer romance, the angst level was toned down which allowed me to really enjoy the sexual tension between Wash and Caroline. Additionally, I savored how well Caroline and Wash worked together and found that to be quite stimulating. The alternating POVs really added to the character development and added dimension to Wash’s inner struggles. Lastly, this author’s style of writing reads succinctly and effortlessly.

Overall, Hardass is a solid blend of romance and suspenseful action. In each book from this Bad Bitch series, we meet one of the Granade brothers and they are a trio of hotness. I recommend this series.

'Hardass' by Christina Saunders is book two in the "Bad Bitch" series. This is the story of Caroline and Wash. This was another hot book by Ms. Saunders....it was definitively a one read sitting book!
Wash is a defense lawyer and has Caroline starting to work for him. Wash is very attracted to Caroline but has tried to not to act on it but he is not winning in that fight. Caroline too would like not to give in to their attraction. But it was nice to see how their relationship went. I like that Wash was very protective and how Caroline was with him. This I thought was so far the best book in the series. It has everything in this story!

This was the first book I read from Christina Saunders ... I thought ;) I already read 2 of her books written with the pseudonym Celia Aaron. I loved those books too and still have to read the third in the Acquisition series. .

This was an easy, fun, entertaining read with wonderful characters as well as a great gay best friend ... I want one myself! Besides a romance there is a suspenseful story about two attorneys defending a man accused of being a serial killer... Wash tries to keep their relationship professional but hey, guess what ... He fails ;) You could feel their chemistry.

I give this book 3,5 stars and would love to read the remaining books in this series...

I wouldn’t have minded a bigger epilogue.

I'm going to be honest here, and possibly a tad shallow, but the hero's name is what gave me the urge to read Hardass. Washington Granade. It called out to me.

description

Here we have a man who ticks all the boxes when it comes to being alpha. He commands the attention of all who meet him; the clients he represents as a defence lawyer, his peers, the authorities and Caroline Montreat, one of Palmer & Granade's associates and the chosen one to assist him on the trial of serial killer, The Bayou Butcher.

"...my dick didn’t care one way or another; it was just happy to see her."

Caroline has had the hots for her boss from afar since the first time she saw him in action in the courtroom. Known as the class clown amongst her peers, she has a tendency to speak her mind without putting her brain in gear. She infuriates Wash, but the chemistry between them burns bright immediately. And leads to some very steamy action.

description

This was the perfect balance of sexy and suspenseful. I loved Wash and Caroline together; they bring out the best and worst in one another, set the sheets alight, but maintain a mutual respect for one another professionally and that I appreciated. Add in Wash's surprising gentler side and the murder case, which did hold a nice twist, and you have a heated, easy, enjoyable read. My first time reading Christina Saunders is unlikely to be my last.

I'm not usually one for stories about lawyers (unless written by Sawyer Bennett!) but this one was surprisingly good--and hot!

Once again I'm reading out of order (although I have requested #1 and #3 from Netgalley--anxiously awaiting...) but it didn't affect my enjoyment--just a few minor spoilers were revealed.

The hero--super studly hot shot lawyer with the lawyerly name of Washington Granade--that's "Wash" for short--is the "Hardass". He's a young (31) partner in his law firm, and ends up working on a big case ( defending a serial killer known as the "Bayou Butcher") with a recent fresh out of law school associate--the beautiful and ballsy Caroline Montreat. Time is ticking on the upcoming trial and Wash and Caroline are desperately trying to find some kind of evidence that will exonerate (or at least cast some reasonable doubt for) their client.

What I liked about this book? I thought it was well-written--there was actually a well thought out plot and some lawyerly maneuvers (it helps when the author is actually a lawyer). It's got suspense, some nice twists and turns, great dialogue, and unfortunately a TSTL moment for our heroine, but it was nicely executed just the same.

Did I mention that it was also hot? Yesss, some serious forbidden kind of chemistry between the H/h. Forbidden in the sense that there's a no fraternization policy in the firm that Wash can't seem to abide by...God, these two were hot. Of course Wash has some 'issues' that complicate the relationship, but nothing that hardass-in-her-own-right Caroline can't help him overcome!

If there was one thing that bugged me is that the story seemed to end abruptly. Which would've been fine if we had gotten a nice juicy epilogue. But the epilogue was short and just sort of...meh. I wanted more! I really liked these characters and wanted more!

Oh well, younger brother Kennedy's book (Total D*ck--don't you love these titles?) is next, so maybe we'll get a little more about Wash and Caroline.
A nice solid 4 star read

I loved this book! Not only do you have a hot couple in Caroline and Wash, but this was also a suspense novel. Wash, short for Washington is a named partner at his firm and he takes on Associate, Caroline to help him clear their clients name who's accused of being the Bayou Butcher. There is a no fraternizing rule at the firm so Wash and Caroline's attraction is forbidden. Add in the thrill of these two investigating a serial killer and you get a steamy read that keeps you on the edge of your seat! I highly recommend this book and I learned at the end that the author, Christina Saunders also writes under the penn name Celia Aaron. After learning this, I'm not surprised I loved this story since I love Celia Aaron's books as well.

"Hardass", is the second in Ms Saunders Bad Bitch series and I loved it! You can not help but to fall in love with these Granade boys, they are sexy, hot strong dominant men and Wahington( Wash) is no different. Wash is a prominent defense attorney who made partner by the age twenty seven, he just landed a very high profile serial murder case, the Bayuou Butcher case and he is going to need an Associante to work with him on it.
Known as a Hardass by the firms associates , they still all want to work a major case with him but the lucky winner is the so called underdog, Caroline Montreat, no fancy colleges or law schools for her , but Caroline is smart sexy and an ongoing challenge to Waah. As these two work the case, Wash resolve to keep his hands off of Caroline disintegrates and sexy times abound , to spite the firms non fraternization policy. Caroline , has had a thing for Wash since college and her college and know current roommate and co worker Terrell Lynch knows about it , but would not mind his own chance at Wash. Caroline and Terrell are great foils for one another and I so hope that he gets his own story in the series .
I digress though, the story itself is a fast paced read with both hero and heroine proving to be wonderfully like able characters , with romance, hot sex and a bit of a murder mystery thrown in to solve. I truly enjoyed Ms Saunders writing style and the Daul POV they story was written in!

Well I’ve really fucked myself now.

I gave the first book in the series five stars. This one is better. So WTF do I do now?

THIS brother. I want THIS brother. If Lincoln was sex on legs, then Washington has a pair of those blades they give amputee athletes. You know the ones. Sleek and solid and hard and look like they could be used as either a sex toy or a weapon.

Wash (God, even his name is sexy as fuck) is the kind of mysterious bad ass you want on your side when shit hits the fan. He is in charge and controlled. Until he meets Caroline and all control he thought he had snaps completely. And then it is all about clothes ripping and shakey touches and teeth clanking kisses and hair pulling and panty ripping and passion explosions all over the place. This man, this controlled man, completely fucking loses it over a woman and it is some of the cutest, most romantic, funniest, hottest shit I have read in a long fucking time. Anyway, Washington ‘Wash’ Granade – sex on didlo-esque blades. That’s all you need to know about this book. Read it.

(ARC provide by author via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review)

LOLJK!!

There are other things in this book as well. Like Caroline who can’t stop the inappropriate things spilling out of her mouth if her life depended on it. I mean, don’t invite her to a Tupperware party but if you need a sister to burn a bra with, Caroline is your girl. She is most definitely not a wilting flower and has no qualms about speaking her mind. Or accentuating her assets. I absolutely loved her.

Also this book has a fantastic ‘whodunnit’ plot filled with quirky characters. And gore and angst and sexual tension and Washington goddamned Granade and his dirty mouth and …Sorry. Where was I? Yes this book. It is another fantastic edition to this series. Fast-paced and filled with humour and suspense. But most importantly, Washington Granade.

If you’re looking for romance that is guaranteed to make you swoon and a plot that will keep you interested then I cannot recommend this book enough.

4**** stars from me

Hardass is the second book of the Bad Bitch series from Lincoln's brother Wash (Washington) and Caroline's point of view, this story was also quite entertaining as the previous i liked the mystery behind the case and had some action in it. The plot had steady pace and the highlights were the very enjoyable and sexy dialogues between Wash and Caroline and their hot sex scenes. As a couple you could feel their connection and how the one complement the other, it was really funny how Wash tried to resist his attraction to her at first and failed repeatedly. Both characters were bold and quite opinionated which made them even more interesting personalities.

Steamy procedural!
Just to be clear: this one was more than a novella but less than a full length book (in my reading estimation), but still a great little read.

Washington is a hardass and he loves nothing more than to give it hard to his employees. And by that, he works then hard, expects results every billable 15 minutes and rewards very, very few. Personally, he lets no one in and shares little to none of himself with anyone. For Wash, it’s about the work and the win every time. His latest case, the Bayou Butcher is no exception. As one of the best criminal defence attorneys in the country, Wash takes cases no one can win and moves them into the W-column. As the case gets underway, Wash poses a little challenges to the new associates and the class clown and designated mouth of the office comes out on top.

Caroline may have no filter and just may be the class clown, but she knows her shit and she knows Washington is the man for her. She has known it since second year law school when she experienced him in court. Right afterwards, she switched to criminal law and worked her butt off to get a job with his firm. Caroline knows that she doesn’t want to waste this golden opportunity to work side by side with Wash, but she also knows it’s a fine balance seducing your boss and maintaining your professionalism.

I actually liked the procedural part of this story, as most of it was from Caroline’s POV and she inner voice is so snarky and funny, I found myself laughing along with her as she went about the case details. I also swooned a few times when Washington laid down law and took care of Caroline and made her understand that she belonged to him…ahhh…you dominant, gruff, old cogger…Loved them together! Enjoy!

I think I love this book through and through!

I thought it was sexy yet had a dark underlining because of the case and stuff. I loved that the characters did not have insta-love, but they damn sure had insta-hotness!!

While Caroline cracked me up with her dirty mouth, Wash was just added to my book boyfriend list. I don't know exactly why but I just loved Wash, and oh my gosh Terrell! I just love gay guy friends. They are amazing.

The erotic parts were spot on. It wasn't rushed and each part added in the story beautifully. This authors strong suit is writing erotic scenes and distinguishing the different characters.

The plot itself was written well. I thought it had enough of the case interwoven within the story, and it wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't like in your face serial killer. Lol if that made sense ;D The only thing about the plot that bugged me was the ending. I felt the end of the case was rushed.

Overall a great sexy read. 4.5 rating

4.5 Stars

This was the best of the 3 books in the series.

Washington, Wash, and Caroline had amazing chemistry, from the beginning. The forbidden aspect of this story, the partner and associate relationship at a law firm, is possibly not that new, but it is done well.

Caroline was a little harsh and classless in places, but it worked as she was allowed to also be intelligent and attractive. Wash was interesting and appealing and his struggle to keep away from Caroline added heat to the story. The scene at the judge's house when he surprises Caroline...wow.

The story was well-written, the serial killer defendant subplot was engaging without being overwrought and too filled with legal terms. The dialog was realistic, the pacing was also good and the romance and the murder story lines were balanced well.

I recommend this book.

Hardass

The suspense in this second book is a look stronger than it was in the first book. I must say that even though I figured out who it was from the moment they literally walked onto the page I still enjoyed this book immensely. I loved the main characters and quite enjoyed going on this journey with them. I always love when heroes have this harass facade that only the right woman can crack, that's exactly what Caroline did to Wash. I truly enjoyed watching him fall for her.

This is the second installment of the series Bad Bitch and it was a nice story! I really liked the plot and the writing of Ms. Saunders is fantastic like always! This book wasn't just an erotic romance but there was suspense, mystery and a bit of darkness. The story is told by a dual POV and it's really nicely done!

Caroline is an amazing woman! She is brilliant, confident and focus on her job. She has a major crash to Wash for ages but she doesn't act on it. I really loved her way of thinking and her actions! I loved that she was proud and direct! Caroline is a fantastic heroine!

Wash is a hardass indeed! I liked him too but he felt like a Scottish shower, one moment hot and then cold! Wash is a great lawyer and very clever but with Caroline he felt a bit confusing to me.

Their interactions were fantastic! Ms. Saunders writes amazingly hot scenes without repeating herself or being over the top! Ms. Saunders has an unique way to create a strong connection among her heroes and this book was no different!

The only negative point for me in this book was the last chapter and the epilogue. The plot took a turn that it felt a bit too heavy for me. However I totally love Ms. Saunders' writing and I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series especially that I got a small glimpse on Kennedy's character!

I definitely recommend this boo to everyone who loves a good mystery, suspense and erotic romance!

My fellow romance book-loving friends, book 2 of this lawyer romance themed series is the best book of this series. Except for a couple of unnecessary, crass words that popped out of Caroline’s mouth in the opening chapter, this was an engaging, well-written, enjoyable read. So much so it has me somewhat second guessing not finishing its predecessor, book 1. Unfortunately, in that book I couldn’t tolerate the annoying, OTT promiscuous sailor on shore leave type heroine. No, this one clearly stands apart with its credible, intriguing serial killer suspense sub-plot and off the charts chemistry between this defense attorney dynamic duo, destined to be together lovebirds.

It’s a shame the author didn’t tone down the crude/crass heroine in book 1, as it may cause some potential readers to dismiss this whole series. Not to make any promises, but I may decide someday to turn back the pages of that one and give it another shot. Word on the street is the hero does make an honest woman of her. However, I’m fairly certain she keeps her potty mouth.

Wash, the good guy hero here, is wickedly smart and sexy in his alpha role as one of the law partners where Caroline is hired fresh out of law school. It isn’t surprising, after secretly being attracted to each other for months, these two partner up, in more ways than one. This despite Wash’s, at first steely determination to follow the firm’s strict no dating the staff policy he helped create. Well, he’s eating those words now, folks. They come back to haunt me as resistance is futile for both of them. The heart wants what it wants. Caroline is simply too much to resist and vice versa.

You guessed it. There is a whole lot of “we really shouldn’t be doing this, but I simply can’t stop myself”, especially from Wash. You’ll be pleased to know, that while she quickly gave into temptation at first, this self-respecting heroine shows her own steely resolve when she realizes she needs to be more to Walsh than just a steamy, temporary fling. Yes, she begins to push him away. Not to worry though. Wash proves he’s a true fighter. He refuses to give up his girl, and ultimately puts his life on the line for her.

Don’t let the OTT steamy cover and rather crass title fool you. Sure, there is off the charts chemistry/steamy scenes with VERY lusty language, but there is a romantic connection, as well. As a true romantic at heart, this book gets a big thumbs up approval from this NetGalley avid romance book reviewer. Rating: 5 stars.

Title: Hardass, Series: Bad Bitch (Book 2), Author: Christina Saunders, Pages: 219, stand-alone but part of a series, good guy type hero, feisty heroine who more than meets her match, Goodreads Romance Safety Gang safe, no cheating, likeable main couple, no OW/OM drama, HEA, no love triangle, some graphic serial killer murder descriptions, some violence, VERY lusty language/steamy scenes. Book two in the Bad Bitch series by Christina Saunders was definitely a book I was looking forward to. Book one blew me away with the fun writing and awesome characters. Hardass is Washington’s book and I wanted it real bad…really really bad.

Washington is known for his stoic, hardass exterior. He never lets anyone get to close and his job never gets mixed with pleasure. His drive and ambition has made him highly sought after and he’ll be damned if he’s going to let anything get in his way. When he lands a highly publicized case and needs a second chair, he hand picks a new associate to prove her worth. Problem is, that associate is Caroline, the one associate he can’t keep his eyes off of. And soon he can’t keep his hands off her either. The woman tests every limit he’s ever given himself when it comes to fraternization but no matter how much he tells himself it’s wrong, it just feels too right to stop.

I loved how in control Washington was until he met Caroline. I loved watching that tightly reigned control shatter when she was near. The hair pulling, the dominance, yeah he lit my fuse. YUM. Caroline pulled out all the stops to turn Wash’s head. Although her outfits were borderline inappropriate in a professional setting, and she often didn’t realize how her appearance might hinder her when investigating in rough neighborhoods, I did like her. She was spunky and driven and determined to win this case not only for Wash but for her as well. She didn’t let the unknown and the more, unsettling aspects of the case keep her down. She approached everything with that same determination to see it through. I loved their interactions together as Caroline baited Washington and he responded with a leashed tongue and a ticking jaw. Until he didn’t anyway. Then it was all hot and heavy on the top of any nearby surface.

Hardass was only lacking the suspense aspect that played a huge part in book one. There was a bit, but I didn’t feel as if the build up was quite as well executed as the prior book and that’s what made this a lower rating for me. I loved the characters, I enjoyed the sex, I just needed a bit more action than I was given. I am still loving the series though and will be reading book 3, Total Dick here shortly. I am eagerly anticipating Kennedy’s story because I have a feeling his man whore ways are about to come to a sudden end.

I give Hardass by Christina Saunders 3.75 stars!

Okay … first of all lets just chat for a bit. Who in the heck would NOT pick this book up for reason number one the series title alone – Bad Bitch – uh yes. Give me those. LOL! I LOVE IT! Second did you look at the cover --- Right here push play on Jo Lo and Iggy’s song “Booty” -- Do you see it? DON’T LIE! That right there is worth a bunch of stars alone.

On to the book! I really really enjoyed this story. I laughed at the interaction between our two main characters Wash and Caroline. How can you not they were playing games and having fun between the mix of investigating a serial killer and lord what a killer he is. WHEW …. Nasty man. From the get go I was a fan of Caroline’s mouth and her BFF Terell. I hope we get a story on him because I would LOVE to know what makes him tick – he is off the charts awesome!

Between the banter, add in Matt, plus the two brothers and a snarky associate --- this was a super read. You will NOT believe the suspense of the events on these pages. There is one heck of a wham bam hello … what!?!?!?!?! -- I never saw anything like what happened coming. Christina did an excellent job of leading you around and around in circles making you throw up your hands and say I don’t have a clue – CSI needs to step in.

Wash and Caroline both work at the same law firm except for the fact that Wash is a partner in the firm while Caroline is working her way up. Her sassy pants attitude is enough to keep her moving up the ladder or maybe sometimes down.

Im super happy that not only do we have a strong female lead that is smart and can throw her sass around not being afraid to speak her mind but she also doesn’t always follow the rules she is told to follow. This woman is no ones puppet.

So now I have to go back and read Bad Bitch (Lincoln – Wash’s brother and Evangeline’s story –we do see them intertwined in this book) and I wait for Book 3 – Total Dick – yes! LOL! -- Kennedy’s story – the other Granade brother --- Granade, Granade & Granade --- (HAHA! Caroline – yup don’t miss that stream of cant shut my mouth syndrome she has in a conversation with Wash -- )

Thank you Christina and NetG for the chance to review. I loved this book! Cant wait until July 5th for Total Dick!

I really enjoyed this book it took me right out of my book funk and I had fun reading it. Christina Saunders has a way of pulling me into this story, I was interested and invested in the case Wash and Caroline were working on, I too was trying to figure out who the culprit was. The case really added some extra excitement and suspense.

Washington Granade is a partner at his Law firm "Palmer and Granade" he is definitely a Hardass and is looked up to. Caroline Montreat is an associate at the firm and is known as the class clown by all her peers, she is very outspoken and has a case of word vomit sometimes.
Caroline is chosen to shadow Wash on a very high profile case he is working on. The sexual tension is almost immediate between these two. Wash is very protective of Caroline and I thought that was really sweet, you could definitely see two sides of him. While he could be a real asshole at times he was so very sweet and considerate of Caroline.

I loved Washington's brother Kennedy he was so funny and flirty. I would love to read his story too!

I thought that the author waited a bit too long for the characters to finally date, I would have liked to have seen more of a relationship aspect to the story. I understood that they weren't allowed to be together but I think they could have seen each other in secret like they did towards the end.

Reading my backlog!

Quick, smutty, and fun, Hardass is book two in Christina Saunders' (Celia Aaron) Bad Bitch standalone series. Featuring smart, female lawyers who must square off with stubborn, alpha male lawyers, the Bad Bitch series follows smart-mouthed heroines who woo the men they aren't supposed to, turning the alphas into puddles at their feet. Along the way they tackle tough cases and get up to no good with their equally sassy friends. In Hardass we meet Caroline and Washington Granade, a lawyer and his associate who have taken on a notorious serial killer's case. As the two complete their discovery, they fall into a tantalizing office romance that made me laugh out loud and blush, a lot. Hardass is, so far, my favorite of the series. It's off-the-cuff, totally not your normal lawyer romance due to the eroticism and the humor, but it's better for it.

If you love smart characters, but sometimes want your heat to be spice level ten, Hardass is the book for you.

After finishing Bad Bitch and loving the steam and suspense, I couldn't wait to jump back into this
world and travel to New Orleans to meet Washington and Caroline who find themselves defending the the Bayou Butcher and surrounded by corpses and mystery. Amidst all of the sleuthing and mayhem, Caroline and Washington find that they can't keep their hands off of each other regardless of the no fraternization clause at the law firm of Palmer & Granade. Christina kept me completely captivated with the intricate story line and the explosive scenes between Wash and Caroline. Hardass lived up to its name from beginning to end!

Caroline Montreat is hard working, just out of law school, and lucky enough to land a job at Palmer & Granade. When she is selected to help on a case with the handsome, straight laced, hard ass
Washington, she can't believe her luck. I absolutely adore this short skirt wearing, bust revealing siren who has the mouth of a sailor. She has the wit and the sassy sex appeal that beguile and frustrate Washington right from the beginning. They were entertaining, hot, and their case solving skills are off the charts!

After meeting Lincoln Granade in Bad Bitch, I didn't think that I could fall in love any deeper with
another Granade hero but I soon realized that there is room in my heart for more of these hot
commanding brothers. Washington Granade aka Wash has never been a rule breaker, impulsive, or one to give into temptation. He is ambitious and driven as a partner of the firm whose life is all about proving reasonable doubt until this intelligent vixen comes into his life in a whirlwind and turns his world upside down. What is not to love about the intense, smoldering heat underneath that stuffy exterior that makes you want to rip his clothes off and have your way with him?

Christina Saunders delivered an even hotter and more mysterious second book in the Bad Bitch series that has left me wanting more. Hardass offers many twists and turns both in the field and in the bedroom that leave us panting and wondering what danger lurks around every corner. I highly
recommend for a love story that has a plethora of steamy scenes and suspense. Christina brings the
intrigue, heat, and has us falling in love with these smokin' hot lawyer brothers and their feisty, brilliant heroines who capture their hearts. Who knows what Christina has in store for us with the womanizing, sarcastic, dirty talking Kennedy but I am eagerly anticipating another go round with another member of the Granade tribe!

3.5 stars. So I have to admit that this book didn't start off well for me. I found it very hard to like Caroline because of the way we met her. I understand this is the Bad Bitch series, but her attitude came off as over-the-top, and it made her seem very immature. There's no way a fresh out of law school associate acts or dresses the way she does, or speaks with that type of language, esp. in a meeting where they're waiting for one of the partners. All of that being said, Caroline definitely grew on me, and by the end, I actually liked her. She did tone it down and start behaving more professionally as would be expected, but she didn't completely give up her attitude either. I also really liked that when Mr. Granade was being wishy-washy and inappropriate, she called him on it and didn't continue to let him use her, and she didn't let him off the hook easily either. Her strong personality and intelligence won me over, although I do have to say I was surprised she didn't figure out the Bayou Butcher earlier like I did.

As for Mr. Granade, he seemed like an average kind of guy, not the perfect muscley specimen that are typically in these romance books. Again, since it's the Bad Bitch series, the focus was more on a strong woman than a perfect-in-every-way alpha hero, so while he obviously wasn't some flabby, ugly guy, he actually seemed like someone who might be real, which was a nice change from reading about the guy who always has the biggest cock ever or the biggest muscles and perfectly cut abs. His dirty talk ability was my favorite thing about him. My only complaint was what happened with the whole Fawn situation? I know Caroline kind of put things together at one point, but we still never got the full story. I'd really have liked to hear everything from Wash (Mr. Granade), and I'd like to have gotten real closure with his brother.

OMG! And how did I forget about the smokin' hot sex scenes? Definitely worth the read just for those alone. The scene at Trent's house for the Judge's party... one of the best scenes ever!

I will definitely be reading the other books in this series, and I'm really hoping Terrell gets a story as well.

So after reading Bad Bitch, I will be completely honest and say I wasn’t in a rush to read Hardass, the second installment of the Bad Bitch Series. While I enjoyed the first book, I didn’t love it and I was hoping the author would be able to draw me in this second installment. And let me just say, Christina Saunders has worked her hardass magic on this book and has me salivating on this second installment.

Hardass was an all out fun, witty, smart, and sexy love story. I love the forbidden aspect of this office-romance but what drew me into this story line were the characters. They were flawed, strong, and basically a hardass that you couldn’t help but be entertained with. Saunders was able to incorporate a sexy love affair while still providing readers a story that wasn’t overdone and didn’t detract these two from their jobs. All I can say, this second installment was without a doubt sexy, steamy and fun.

How is it possible to get hotter and more intense with each book?! Not sure how, but Christina managed to crank up the heat in the second book of her Bad Bitch series. Washington Granade, other wise known as Wash, is intense, confident and is the very definition of Alpha Male. He is simply put, sex on legs.

Caroline Montreat is known as the "class clown", she has recently graduated from law school and is new to the firm. She has recently earned her way into the second chair on a big murder case, working along side Mr. Hardass himself. The firm has a strict "No Fraternizing" policy, which Wash was very instrumental in putting in place. Can he stick to his own rules?

The heat between those two is approaching the temperature of the sun. I loved the angst between them, I loved everything about these two.

This was a compelling story that had me eating out of the palm of its hand. I devoured it in one sitting, started at 3:15pm and finished around 10:30pm. There were so many twists and turns and at one point I was sitting there slack jawed, as I did not see that one coming at all!

It's not often I mention supporting characters, but I will in this case because Terrell Lynch was perfect! Great supportive friend and super funny! For me, he was just that little bit extra icing on the cake! Loved him!

I absolutely loved this story and I am totally looking forward to the third instalment of this series!

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

OK, it’s Wash’s turn. Whereas, Evan was a Bitch … Wash is definitely a harda$$ … in the office, in the courtroom and definitely in the glutes. But, it’s the Class Clown that makes another muscle stand up and take notice. Not only is she hot but she’s smart, sassy, fearless. Taking on this case could prove to be harmful to a lot of people … especially Wash.

Caroline does not have a filter on her mouth, she can be totally inappropriate and extremely sexy. She’s had her eye on Harda$$ from when she was a Sophomore in college and she is going to use everything that she has to make him notice her. Short skirts, low cut tops, her brains … nothing is off limits.

But, when the real Bayou Butcher gets his hands on her, it’s Wash who comes to her rescue and captures more than the real killer, but her heart.

Hardass meets Smart Ass.

Caroline had a dream of working for Wash after seeing one of his cases. Also she was crushing on him. But, unlike most, she fights back even to the Hardass.

Wash, being the Hardass has delt with his shit and holds some grudges. But like miss smartass, breaks his walls down.

One thing leads to another and they keep saying they are done, but when that attraction is there in full force, that wall crumbles.

And what they are doing is totally against the company's policy....

Awesome book. Way more mystery

This is the second book in the series but it's easily read standalone. Wash Granade is a ruthless defense attorney and his always in control attitude makes him perfect for his current client. That control is being tested by his newest associate Caroline Montreat. She's feisty, sassy, and sexy! His no fraternization policy is being tested daily. When she earns the right to work on his new high profile case with he, try as he might, he can't stay away from her. And when the case turns deadly, he'll do anything to keep her safe!

Definitely a recommended read.
