"I believe that a person needs the power of the Holy Spirit to maintain deliverance. From the testimonies of those whom I have prayed for, it is rather easy to maintain deliverance with the help of the Holy Spirit once the demon has been expelled." (Doris M. Wagner, How to Cast Out Demons, Page 36-37)
Jesus said in Mark chapter 16, verse 17: "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons." Demons are real and God has shown us through His Word how we can cast them out. We cast them out through the name of Jesus and by the authority of God.
Demons are behind many sicknesses, diseases, infirmities, addictions, psychological disorders, etc. Therefore, more than ever the minister of the gospel requires to be equipped with helping people be free from these demons; firstly in their own lives and then in the lives of others.
The author of this book spends over 2 hours counselling with those who may be oppressed by demons and has them fill out a form letter, questionnaire and legal waiver before ministering to them. These are all included as appendixes in the back of this book, and the author gives you permission to use these for noncommercial use in your own ministry.
The author takes you through the details of the questionnaire and how to cast out demons based on how the person has answered each question. The author dedicates much time to demonic influences that can come into a person's life through the religion of Freemasonry. I am thinking she did this because she herself had battled with some demons that came into her family line through this cult.
I do not think this is an exhaustive book on deliverance. It missed many demons mentioned in the Bible. For example, Jesus cast out demons of blindness, dumbness, infirmity, foul (dirty) spirits... The epistles also mention deceiving spirits and other demons.
I particularly liked Chapter 11 that dealt with mental and emotional problems and Chapter 13 and 14 that dealt with lust, sexual bondages and addictions.

This is a great book to use as a handbook for any Christian who wants information on Deliverance ministry. I found it to be a simple read without deep theological language that couldn't be understood.
Deliverance ministry can be real messy if you don't know what you are doing, this book is written by someone who has expertise in this area.
I found this to be a resourceful book, especially the "rejection tree".

April 24, 2012This is a liberating book for anyone involved in a deliverance Ministry, cleansing, or spiritual warfare in their private lifes. Ms. Wagner lays a basic plan to see if one is in bondage, how to identify the snare and/or bond, how to gain freedom and how to maintain that state. This reads like a self-improvement book but its focus is on the most important part of our lives - our spiritual life. This is an incrdible book that I read a couple of years ago.

This book gives enlighting revelation and spiritual insight on soul realm strongholds; it offers excellent deliverance prayers to incorperate in setting yourself free by the power and Blood of Jesus.

I use it a companion guide when praying for someone especially when I am working with someone who suffers rejection. Her ‘fruit of rejection tree’ diagram has been very helpful. Her book is a step by step check list for understanding the work of deliverance.

It's interesting and useful guide to be able use some of the teaching, praying for yourself as well as praying for others.
