When wildfire strikes we can feel helpless. It’s destructive force is so pervasive, it’s unremitting advance so lethal, that we feel at a loss. In an average year, there are more than 100,000 wildfires across the United States. Wildfires stretch the capacity of the Fire Department to the limit. Men work to a state of utter exhaustion, risking their lives to contain the monster. They do their best – but sometimes the fire wins.

Relying totally on the professional services in the face of wildfire is a mistake. Fire-fighters will focus on the concentration of the fire. Yet the fire moves so quickly that they can’t be everywhere at once.
