Although this book provides a brief intro to watercolor painting, such as preparation, supplies, techniques, as well as basic elements of light and art; this is not a beginners book. The techniques are explained concisely, again, assuming the reader has a previous understanding of the media. The painting’s instructions serve as a window into the artist’s general process, not a step by step instructions. It’s a great book with good insight and beautiful paintings as examples.

Really handy guide on painting intense light and contrasts in watercolor. I've only done one exercise so far, which can be seen on my Facebook site, but I intend to do more, and look forward to applying what I've learned to my own work.
