Rooftop Killer

Rate this book
When Kate is hired to repair a roof for a brand new customer, she witnesses a brutal murder. Four houses down, a man is strangled to death by a masked assailant, and the handy woman of Rock Ridge is the only witness.

As calculating as the killer is, Police Chief Scott York considers this a straightforward case. But when he arrests the wrong woman, Kate won't sit idly by.

Infiltrating a secret drag racing club where young men place bets on the fastest car in the wee hours of the night, Kate follows clues that take her on a twisted trail into the underbelly of her beloved town.

But can she solve this murder while managing motherhood?

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

"Should she have at least told someone where she was going?" Nah lol

I really am tired of "pump and dump".

So this lady goes into people's homes and steals hats, hair from combs and toothbrushes and takes them to the forensics lab at the police department so they can run DNA tests on them. She asks them not to tell her husband who is the police chief. They are okay with that as long as she pays for it. So the DNA in the hat she stole doesn't match the hair on the toothbrush she stole from the same apartment so that somehow clears the lady they have in jail and they let her go. Later the husband gives her a lecture about not doing things "legally". Dude, you have to follow proper police procedure or it will get thrown out in court.

After witnessing a murder on the rooftop a couple of houses down from where she is fixing a roof, Kate implicates a murder suspect on circumstantial evidence. After thinking it through, she realizes she was wrong and proceeds to investigate a very dangerous situation.
On to #15...

I enjoyed reading this story about Kate and her Mrs Fix It business with a side line of solving murders. Kate is on a roof fixing the tiles when she witnesses a murder on a roof a few doors away. She feels the won't person is arrested for the murder and sets out to proove who did do it.

Are these getting shorter? I was a little disappointed in the lack of work in this book and how the conclusion didn't really feel like it fulfilled the mystery. I'm sad to think it might be the end though ;( one more book to go!

Cute

I have read all of the books in this series. They all have the same feel and outcome. I will say that this one had the least amount of misspelled words and incorrect usage of the English language.

yet again Kate saves the day she's repairing a roof and happens to see a murder. Of course knowing Kate she's unable to leave it alone and decides to solve it herself. This book leaves you with more questions than answers because you're wondering about the race shop and the gambling.

Once again the killer comes out of nowhere. I don't understand how Kate's husband functions as the police chief. He's the worst police officer ever. And he's the chief! He is always is so sure they have the right culprit and he's always wrong.

Did not see nearly as many typos or continuity errors as with previous books.
