A great book for children to help them learn colours and dinosaurs

A different coloured species of dinosaur pops out of each egg hatched, but unfortunately that's as varied as this board book gets. It's very, very repetitive, and I feel as though it would have been better at engaging children and teaching them colours if it had incorporated the hatching into more of a story, rather than just repeating the exact same words on each page. That being said, the cut out egg shapes did really entertain our daughter - she enjoyed sticking her finger through the whole on the front of the book more than she enjoyed us reading it to her.

I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. I liked the use of colors and dinosaurs to keep little ones learning, but the rhyme was pretty redundant. By the fourth page on my first time through, I was reciting it by heart.

In this colorful book for the younger set, young readers turn the pages and meet ten different dinosaurs with their actual scientific names as well as being introduced to different colors. The little dinos hatch from increasingly-smaller eggs over the course of the book until a T-rex with many different colors hatches. I'm not sure how scientifically accurate the relative size of those eggs is, but I did like the idea behind the book with all those sizes and colors and nurturing between parent and child dinosaur.
