Some of the stories are getting a little dated. I really enjoyed half, and then I tolerated the other half, hence the 3 rating. I've been carrying around the book for 25 years before I finally just made myself read it.
Wonderful collection of some of the best short-short stories I've read in quite some time. Included are Poe, Bradbury, Tolstoy, Parker, and other prominent authors who are not necessarily known for their short-shorts. The stories included run the gamut of settings and emotions, and many are short enough to read while waiting at a long red light (as I was doing in heavy traffic today).
These can be read for enjoyment or studied by those who wish to write short-short stories themselves. A really great collection of works that might or might not be known beforehand but are worthwhile to peruse beyond the basic required readings for the authors presented.
