She grew up on Cape Cod, and now lives in Los Angeles.

Great interview, not only I am fascinated by Joe, the main character in both books, but I also loved Santino's audiobook narration and wanted to get more by listening to this short interview. It's a free download on Audible, even if you don't have a subscription (I don't have one).

Overall, great interview for those who loved the audiobook version of You and Hidden Bodies.

Initial Impressions 12/6/16: Downloaded and listened for free from Audible
Okay, well this isn't a story but I'll rate it anyway! I enjoyed YOU mostly because of the audiobook narrator, Santino Fontana. I just loved his voice and after searching Audible, sadly it doesn't seem like he narrates a whole lot more, or not a lot more that I'm interested. This interview was fun! Caroline interviewed Santino and then Santino interviewed her. There wasn't much to it -- it's only 11 minutes long -- but I liked how she said how much audiobook narrators motivate and influence a book. She ended up writing Hidden Bodies, well because she wanted to but she also had a motivating factor of Santino's voice for Joe and I think that's really neat! Leigh Bardugo has said before that she's written something for a character (Matthias) and then imagined the narrator's voice and reactions based on what she had written. Even if it's not direct influence, it's neat to really know that audiobooks interact with an authors writing and vice versa!
Also, thank you to this interview for counting towards my Goodreads challenge. It's novella and extra season, guys!

Oh my god it gets to me that I was listening to Santino in other stories because then I looked up what else he voiced and bam I’m here now lol. I originally found him in a romantic comedy Audible story and the coworker did amazing too! I loved their chemistry <3

Fun phone interview between the author and narrator. I had never heard of Santino before, but he's very popular. I truly feel that a good narrator makes the audiobook so much better, nobody wants to listen to a monotone drone for 10 hours. Santino had my skin crawling from the very first line.
