I had the opportunity hear Sheri Riley recently at Women's conference in Atlanta. Though her seminar was about an hour she sowed so many seeds that I felt compelled to want to learn about what "Exponential Living," was all about.

Not only did I thorough enjoy the text, but Sheri gave me gems (9 principles, see book to understand) to how I can be truly be the best me, through eliminated 100% of my time on 10% of who I am.

Chapter 6 entitled, "Happy is a choice, joy is a lifestyle," really spoke to my spirit and the new season that I am currently experiencing. (Happy is in the mind. Joy is in the heart. Grateful is in the spirit. Gratitude is in the spirit.)

Thank you Sheri for sharing this masterpiece!!! I look forward to pursuing my BEST self and being at peace through exponential living.

This book has some good ideas which could be developed further beyond just celebrity testimonials. This book feels a bit too 'Hollywood' (or should I say Atlanta) and reads more like an extended version of the author's resume. What I initially thought would be appealing about this book (the glamour, advice from an ex-entertainment power player) ultimately seemed too plastic for my liking. On a positive note, the author seems like she may be a nice lady.

*Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review*

DNF.

Tried and wanted to get into it, but it felt primarily name-dropping and self serving for how great Sheri was while the actual instructional and informational parts were spread thin. Of course most self help books are repetitive to whatever mantra the author espouses, but this stretched it past breaking.

It's definitely the "HOW" to stop spending 100% of your time on 10% of who you are. It's the "HOW" to pursue peace, choose clarity, and live courageously.

A great premise poorly fleshed out. I don't care about celebrity testimonials, they actually detract from the material here. Would have been a better book with more exercises and no testimonials. I didn't love the religious bent either.

I almost didn't finish this book. It was slow to start, and a daunting task with 9 principles. I'm giving it a solid three stars because there are some wonderful gems in here-- and I read it at a time in my life where my mind was open to some of these items. However, I didn't always find the conversations at the end of each principle illuminating or interesting. It feels a bit conventional in some ways as well, with a heavy reliance on God that some may find offputting (others inspiring). You can really see Sheri's heart and personality in this book. For better or worse you're getting a piece of her... And I'm glad she shared that with us!

The author Sheri Riley, a motivational speaker and life strategist, guides high achievers on how to stop spending 100% of their time on 10% of who they are. In her book "Exponential Living", she introduces us to her 9-principles, that are:
1. Live in Your P.O.W.E.R.
2. Healthy Living Is More Than Just a Diet
3. Pursue Peace and a Positive Mind
4. Have a Servant’s Heart and a Giving Spirit
5. Stop Working, Start Maximizing
6. Happy Is a Choice, Joy Is a Lifestyle
7. Build Lasting Confidence
8. The Courage to Be Faithful
9. Exponential Living
These principles are explained by the author, in her own unique, passionate way, that empowers everyone willing to change to a more fulfilling life.

The quintessence of the book is: "If you chase outer achievements, such as fame, money, rewards, there will always be something missing, but if you make inner peace your goal, everything else will fall into place. Quote of the book: "Exponential Living is about making peace the CEO of our lives. Learning to live in peace today is what empowers us to live 100 percent of who we are. With peace comes gratitude, which marks the end of a mind-set driven by lack, scarcity, and fear. With peace comes the courage to say, “I am enough!” Peace is not a destination; it’s a lifestyle, a moment-by-moment choice. When you choose peace as your priority every day, you gain access to an inner compass that directs you on how to invest your time and attention in every living moment."

One of the best book that I've read recently. More than just inspiring, it is life-changing.

Finished read this after 4 months. I might say its a great book. Rather than focus on the 'peace topic' that this book constantly talking, I prefer the 'God' topic as my favourite ones. I learnt so many things about life, God, and faith from this book. The things that I don't like from the book is about how this book talking about high achiever but those who's mostly work in entertainment industry and already succeeded with a lot of money and peace is the only thing that they are seeking for. It feels unrelatable for me who is just an "ordinary" person. Part of myself feels like this book is like a fairytale where you already achieved so many incredible things but the last you need is only peace. I know that this book talking about high achiever person, but I don't think that all high achiever person will always ended up have a lot money and fame like what this book's subject try to introduced. But yeah I admit that the god topic is really really suitable for everyone because no matter how rich you are, what's your gender, your current title and age, we will always on the same level in God's eyes

Very few books have impacted my life as much as 'Exponential Living'...

I stumbled on Sheri Riley from a marketing email 'Creative Live' sent introducing her new course. A quote in the email hit me in the face - "Stop speeding 100% of your time on 10% of who you are". This was timely as I was working for a big company in the business district of London, but was feeling terribly unfulfilled as my life did not match my dreams.

Sheri's book helped me find clarity, pursue peace and take courageous steps to start living a life in which 100% of my time is spent on 100% of who I am. Thanks Sheri for writing this amazing, practical book.

There was advice I really liked in here, but I'm starting as someone with little to no ambition for anything in particular so the book isn't aimed at me

Also celebrities. If you know or care about people who are famous almost all the examples and anecdotes are from celebrity or media culture. That is arena of the world in which I have a negative amount of interest so I just kept skimming.

I did write out a lot of the exercises and kept some quotes though. The beginning made me think of The Secret but the exercises were more thoughtful.

it's always good to return to books like this every 6 months or so to reset your outlook of life. this book is definitely targeted for an older audience but I'm glad to have read this perspective nonetheless! Riley shares GREAT ways for us to do the one thing we all struggle with: understanding ourselves. I undeniably gained more clarity from this and, at least in this point of my life, I love and aspire towards this concept of exponential living :-)

Peace, perfect peace

In a time where the focus of the culture is to "do" in order to get, this was a refreshing work. Peace really is the real success. Marriages and families are in shambles because we don't live rest "full" lives. Our busyness makes us unproductive, tired and unhappy. Thank you Sheri Riley, bringing me back down to earth!
