"Is there any justice for Soul Reapers in this battle?"

I didn't thought that I will give the highest rating to a volume with Quilge Opie on the cover, but here I am.
THIS WAS ONE CRAZY VOLUME! I did watch all of the available TYBW episodes (I do not count currently airing Cour 3) so technically, I should've been ready for what will happen, but what I remember from the episodes are only a couple of scenes (the shock I have experiences was a little bit too big for me to handle). For example, I did remember Quilge and his battle with Ichigo, but I hadn't remembered how monstrous his full transformation was. I kid you not, the guy looked like he was taken straight up from the Attack on Titan universe! Anyways, as I said, this volume was truly a crazy one and IT'S ONLY THE BEGINNING OF TYBW, guys!
An imperial order from His Majesty to the Sternritter. One of the special threats, Ichigo Kurosaki, is engaging our forces in Hueco Mundo. To all Sternritter. Equip yourselves and assemble at the Gate of the Sun immediately. The Wandenreich will now invade the Soul Society.
THE WAR IS STARTING. The organization of Wandenreich, after declaring a war, made his move, which means that the Soul Society is currently under attack. It's an incredibly bloody attack. According to Akon's informations, a thousand men died in seven minutes. Their bodies were sliced through so easily like they were butter, not humans. They were dropping like flies, one after another. A couple of them were introduced for the very first time and immediately died after. Is it still BLEACH or maybe Game of Thrones? It was a truly gruesome show of power coming from the clearly stronger enemy. It was a horrifying experience in just the manga so you can imagine it happen in the anime, where not just all the sounds are available, but also all the killing happens so fast that you don't have time to properly process it. The Soul Reapers are falling, desperately fighting for their lives despite clearly not standing a chance, while the Wandenreich members are flying here and there will smiles on their faces and talking about purge. For them, it looks like a game. A game they cannot lose.
"I don't feel a thing... Say something... Say anything...! Hyourinmaru!"
My heart broke not only for Hitsugaya, but his reaction was most emotional one. The captains were under an impression that the enemy can seal their Bankai, but the situation ended up being much more dangerous. Can you imagine losing a thing you are attached to the most? Can you imagine losing a part of your soul? This is what happened to the captains in the first minutes of the battle - and the enemies didn't show their powers yet. Our heroes have to shake up quickly after their loss and face their opponents, but can they stand a chance without their strongest weapons?
"No need to take stock. Renji. There's no need to show them pity. These people are trying to annihilate the Soul Society without mercy. They are unequivocally the enemy. Slice them down with everything you have."
It looks like every player had found their match, either named or not named yet. Byakuya and Renji are against a creepy Sternritter named Äs Nödt. Komamura is facing a bloodthirsty woman named Bambietta. And Rose, after finding out that a couple of his subordinates are fallen, has to fight against a guy who looks like a mix of Tousen's Soul Reaper version and his Arrancar transformation (I refuse to believe that his name is NaNaNa Najahkoop, it's just can't be possible). Kyoraku seem to have the toughest battle to win - a battle of swords against guns, where he already had experienced a tremendous loss. I wish I could not see this. I wish I could not see all of my favorite characters going through these fights. These people are so important to me and it pains me to see their pain and desperation and loss. All this had to happen because a thousand years ago Yamamoto didn't do what he was supposed to do :(
"Every time I see a struggle such as this, I ask myself 'Is the sight of the weak dying always so unsightly?' I cannot bear to watch. Die."
The highlight of Volume 56 is definitely the battle happening in Hueco Mundo between Ichigo and Quilge. At first sight it looked like Ichigo had no chance. At first sight it looked like Quilge was superior. But then Ichigo went into a Bankai mode and the power balance started to shift. It kind of amazes me how careless Quilge was through this fight. He was so convinced of his invincibility that he had not only underestimated his opponent, but, what strikes me the most, he completely ignored the fact that the organization he was a part of was considering Ichigo a special threat. A SPECIAL THREAT, AND HE POINT BLANK IGNORED IT. He did pay a price for it, but not before he had unleashed his last attack. An attack that could've predestined the Soul Society's fate.
"You lose, Ichigo Kurosaki! All you can do now is sit inside that cage and watch as the Soul Society falls!"
To be honest, I am afraid to pick up the next volume, because I know what will happen next. One of the my worst Bleach scenes is incoming. The first one was the scene in Ichigo's home when everyone were cut by Tsukishima. The second one is the upcoming one and I truly don't want to see it. It could've been easier to get through it in the manga since there will be no sounds, but Ichigo's desperate face might bring me to my knees. We will see.
Some thing I need to talk about: (as always ;)) - BE AWARE OF THE SPOILERS OF THE WHOLE TYBW ARC!
~ "I have received orders from His Majesty to take you down right here. In other words, you are going to die." - it was really funny to see this now knowing that Yhwach had to already know that his subordinate will inevitably lose this fight.
~ How awfully convenient for the Quincy that they had found a way to use their Vollständig power without losing it.
~ "To the eyes of you atrocious Soul Reapers, the form of us divine executors must certainly appear creepy and horrific!" - it pisses me off how the Wandenreich are acting like they are the good guys while happily killing people left and right.
~ I saw the anime, but I completely forgot that Ayon had showed up in here! Such a shame that he didn't beat the crap out of Quilge :(
~ RIP Kajoumaru Hidemoto
RIP Togakushi Rikuu
RIP Gori Taketsuna
RIP Katakura Asuka

~ The moment where Kira lost is arm is as horrifying in the manga as I remember it from the anime. I genuinely was convinced that it's the end.
~ "I get inspired wherever I look at Izuru. Melodies come flowing out like tears just holding a guitar near him. If Izuru's gone, my flying v and I will be sad." - I honestly don't know how to interpret it, Rose 😂
~ Why the hell did the WWE Sternritter attack Renji from behind?? Dude, have some shame!
~ I'm surprised that Soi Fon of all people decided to use her Bankai so soon in the battle.
~ Why didn't Ichigo took his badge with him while going to Hueco Mundo?? My boy, how could you 😂
~ Akon's offended face expression when he found out that Ichigo was fighting a Quincy in Hueco Mundo was one of the rare moments in this volume that made me laugh.
~ Urahara's trying to find out why Ichigo's Bankai cannot be stolen. I also like to find out - the things I heard confuse me very much. It cannot be true, right? How could it be possible? 🤔
~ Rin's pure believe that everything will be alright now that Ichigo's coming to Soul Society... It pains me that it will be shattered because Ichigo got caged 😢

HOLY SCHEISSE!
Bleach, Volume 56: March of the Starcross puts you through the ringer with your emotions fighting against each other. My poor little heart felt like it was going to seize up from the surging adrenaline caused by my battling feelings. This volume is bloody intense! It takes you from:
This entire volume keeps you on edge with anxiety and tension. The cliffhanger ending has me impatiently counting down the days until the next volume's release. Plus, there a bunch of new hottie shinigami I'm hoping to learn more about next time. Without a doubt, this is one of the best volumes in the series. It is filled with surprising turns, extraordinary battles, and heartbreaking moments. I don't want this series to end!! So freakin' good!

This arc is intense

This volume kicked off perfectly and established some truly intriguing, somewhat formulaic, premises for this new story arc but, towards the end, found some way to really ruin it all with blatant and careless exposition while twisting the whole narrative around Ichigo Kurosaki in a truly inauthentic way. Sure, he's the protagonist after all, but all this happening so suddenly and making him some kind of godly saviour is truly uncanny.
Hopefully, the Vandenreich will be able to stand out as a group of villains, otherwise, I can see how the Bleach franchise can suffer and die from all of this.

Bleach, Vol. 56 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (490–499) of the on-going manga series.
In Hueco Mundo, knowing his opponent is a Quincy, Ichigo Kurosaki has an advantage against Quilge Opie while Kisuke Urahara and Pesche Guatiche save Dondochakka Birstanne. However, Quilge reveals his Vollständig ability in response, overpowering Ichigo before the Tres Bestias sick a restituted Ayon on him. Quilge then stabs Emilou Apacci before using his "Sklaverei" technique to absorb Ayon.
Meanwhile, the Soul Reapers prepare to defend the Seireitei before being caught guard. Captains Byakuya Kuchiki, Sajin Komamura, Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Suì-Fēng face Wandenreich's elite Sternritters, only to lose their Bankai to their Quincy opponents' medallions. Devastated and desperate, Soul Society contacts Ichigo for help. However, just as Ichigo makes his way to the Soul Society, Quilge traps him in a spiritual prison so he can only witness the slaughter.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The Wandenreich continues their attack on Soul Society with powers to nullify Bankai, through their many new techniques that they have learned throughout the years in hiding.
All in all, Bleach, Vol. 56 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.

I thought the 55th volume of Bleach was bloody. No, y'all haven't seen bloodshed like this volume - oh no, it's a straight massacre going on. People are dying in the hundreds and the only thing standing between the Quincies and the death of all Shinigami is a certain orange haired Deputy Shinigami with the impossible ban kai. In a book split between Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, the bodies are falling and every Shinigami is on call to protect their home in the afterlife from extermination.

At this point I think I'm just reading it to finish the series. It's the same plot recycled over and over with a new villain always being stronger than the last one with Ichigo being the only one capable of saving the day. Now Kubo's not even bothering to pretend anyone but Ichigo can save the day which is totally boring and predictable.

This arc is much better than the Full Bringer arc, but I don't like the Quincies. I only like Uryu Ishida.

What an epic volume! This is how you start an epic arc, first we have the Quincy commander Quilge Opie battel Ichigo and he is more than proving to be an adequate match for him and he uses different modes like Vollstandig, Blut and Bankai appropriation to attack Ichigo and gain a hand of him and when the trinity of Halibel come in and even bring their monster, he is able to defeat them with ease as his power knows no bounds. The Sternritters and Iban have launched an invasion of soul society and umm okay the battle between them is epic like super epic. Shinigamis are falling left and right from all directions, captains are getting outclassed and the Quincy who are attacking have such great form but one of the Shinigamis is able to contact Ichigo and Urahara and able to tell them of the situation and they make their way quickly and at first it seemed like Ichigo defeated Quilge only to have the latter trap Ichigo in some prison! This arc was epic and so much is going on, Shinigamis are losing and we still don't know what the Quincies want and so much mystery is there! And Ichigo in the very center of it! An epic arc!

This volume did a great job at illustrating how deadly and unique the Quincy are and how they’re the most dangerous and powerful group that we’ve encountered so far. At first I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with all the new Soul Reaper characters introduced in this volume, until I realized they were introduced just to be cannon fodder for the enemy. As much as I loved the Arrancar saga, I admit that it wasn’t as impactful as the Arrancars were defeated in 95% of their fights, so the risk to our protagonist characters wasn’t as great in certain parts. This arc doesn’t have that problem. We’re immediately shown Soul Reapers brutally killed left and right, and we see how the Quincy kill without prejudice. I loved the brief examination of the history between Quincy and Soul Reaper, and I loved the conversation on war. It was interesting seeing the unique power set these Quincies had considering we’ve only seen Uryū’s growing but limited amateur powers up until this point. This volume does a great job at showing that this is not a mere battle with a new enemy, it is a war against an old foe.

This is better. Where we are going is much better. I think the little arc of the full bring humans was dumb. So dumb. Also he shouldn’t have lost his powers that was dumb only to regain them back and still he too powerful. Like that’s all dumb. Also do the captain who are hollowed still have that hollowfication? Also they better not have killed of Assistant captain Kira!!! But if they did, then that’s dumb bc nobody has died really before and to do so now would be dumb.

This is the part where all worldbuilding and established things go downhill. The logic in things that existed for almost 500 chapters suddenly changes. The backstory getting pushed by different characters feel too heavy. Maybe in animated series they found the way to make it logical and make a natural flow of things, but when you read it almost every week, it feels like this tome and all after it was forced on the author because of huge popularity at the time.

Bleach Volume 56 was rather lame overall but you might not notice from the actual review. It has something to do with how manga stories are told. It is a pattern I see in many anime and manga stories and it is not a bad story telling technique but it does get old after a while. It starts with the good guys suffering a horrible loss from an enemy that suddenly has a new power that no one can defend against. In previous Bleach stories it was hollows with unusual powers or powers that are suddenly more powerful than when previously encountered. It is not good to be a minor or background character in these stories because it means you despite being a supremely powerful being will be mowed down with no effort by the enemy. In your fight to the death you will not harm the enemy in anyway and they will not break a sweat when killing you. The one Quincy that has had problems is the one fighting Ichigo and to show how bad assed the Quincy has become he takes down a few Espadas that required several captains to take down in the Aizen storyline. So at this point the bad Quincies have over many many many pages killed a lot of pitifully confused Soul Reapers. They have managed to kill off at least one popular (or at least reoccurring) assistant Captain. The bad guys have found a way to capture or seal away the Bankai the Soul Reapers use as a release for their powers. The Soul Reapers cannot harm the bad guys even by hitting them with their swords or throwing stuff at the bad guys. It is at this point that the Office of Research starts trying to contact Ichigo without permission. After a bit of comic relief Ichigo is heading to help bail out the Soul Society only to be foiled at the last second and last page of the issue complete with taunting words from Quilge Opie (I think that is the correct name there were a lot of new characters introduced in this volume) the Quincy collector in Hueco Mundo.

UNMARKED SPOILER.
This volume is still on going and the major event for this one was the Quincy was attacking Soul Society. Lots of Shinigami died. Even Captain Commander! Well, the first Captain showed us some awesome moves and power but in the end, he still died cause of that bastard twin or something of that Juha Bach. >:( And so in the latest chapter one or two weeks ago, Ichigo of course would be the one who'll save them again. But damn, Nii-sama is dead too. Kuchiki Byakuya that is. :(
DAMN!!!! WHAT THE HECK?! Such a major drama! Ichigo's part QUINCY?! :O :O :O I need Ichigo's father to explain what the heck does that mean. And if it's true that his mother is a Quincy. Too many revelations that need to come undone. Dammit. And what is that Juha Bach saying to Ichigo,"My son, born in the dark." Dammit. >:( His son?! Ichigo?! Ugh.
HOLY! Forget what I said~! Kuchiki Byakuya is alive!!!! Yay!!! But well... Sadly, Yamajii is really dead. :( And Soul Society is in shambles. Surprisingly it was Kyouraku who said the things Yamajii might say to them. :O Isn't it a shocker? The lazy captain saying things like that?! :P

review:Volume 56 is the starting of another arc in bleach after ichigo(main character) had his battle with ginjo the full bringer. The quiceys(enemies of the shinigamis) declared a war with the soul society, wanting revenge of what the shinigamis( soul reaper) had done to them a thousand years ago.
The commander of the soul society lost his battle with the boss of the quinceys. It was up to ichigo to save soul society since he was very powerful, but he was traped in a cage made by one of the quinceys after his battle with him. At the end ichigo used up all of his reiastu to break the cage and went to soul society to save soul society by chasing the enemies away.
reason for picking up the book: I have read every single volume of this series , and i wanted to catch up and read on of what is going to happen in the series.
reason for finishing the book: This volume contained a lot of actions and battles that i really liked.
recommendation: I would recommande this book to Naruto readers because this book is very similar to the plot of the book Naruto.

This starts a new storyline, which is about the Quincies. I must admit that I am not really as interested in this as I was in The Fullbringer Saga. But, I will be following it.
I don't really like that the Quincies can steal the Bankai's from the members of The Soul Society, no matter how interesting that can make the story. And, I hate that so many deaths are having to take place in this story as well.

However, on the good side of things, Bleach is back to being the action-packed quick-read type of series that I always loved it for being, once again, instead of being so let's-talk-in-depth-about-everything-because-it's-all-so-darn-serious like it was there for a little bit.

The only reason this became a three is because I was interested in seeing what the new Quincy were like. I also wanted to see the Bankai of the captains although it's apparently going to be in the next volume. Damn it! Oh well, the new abilities of the Quincy was nice to watch. They certainly have improved over the time they've stayed off the map (then again it's been 100 or 200 years; there's bound to be change...). And finally all the cockiness of the Shinigami disappeared. I like a lot of Shinigami but I have to admit they've got it coming. They're been almost just as self-righteous. And I have a feeling there's more to the intentions of the Quincy than meets the eye.

Tite Kubo continues in stunning fashion as the Quincies assault the Soul Reapers' homeland while Ichigo faces off against one of them in Hueco Mundo. As some of the books leading characters fall to the onslaught, it is once again up to Ichigo to come to the rescue.
Full of the typical fighting you expect from this series, yet we still have some nice character development missing from the previous arc. One hope this will continue as we reel towards the end.
