Dear Bob Dylan is a collection of letters as a way for the author to express herself in a literary sense, as a scene where she could place her thoughts. By focusing on an enigma, Zaran was able to compose these thoughts in the most rudimentary sense, letter writing. Rather than begin a journal Zaran chose instead to write Bob Dylan letters.

About the author

Lisa Zaran is a poet and the author of six collections of poetry including "If It We", "The Blondes Lay Content" and "the sometimes girl". Zaran is founder and editor of Contemporary American Voices, an online journal featuring some of the best voices in America today. Zaran also is founder and editor of Little Lark Press, a small press publishing anthologies of poetry by poets from around the world. Little Lark Press's first release, The Whole Desolate Day, features poetry on addiction by authors across the globe. Zaran is the author of Dear Bob Dylan, a collection of letters. Zaran lives and writes in Arizona.

Love the concept of this book - a lyrical view of the world and the ups and downs of life. It's a book that can occupy 2 minutes of your time or 2 hours because of the diary-like letter writing - I liked that, it suits my reading style.

I'd recommend this book and will check out other work by this author.

I remember Lisa writing these letters for years, sharing many with me in our correspondence, publishing some here and there. They were damn good and I felt like it wouldn't be long before she'd have enough quality material to publish a book. Bam! Here it is! This is pretty original, creative and talented stuff, so please check it out. Recommended!
