The Engagement
Victoria could not remember a day that she had not already been promised to a man who lived thousands of miles away. She had tried to avoid this day her whole life. She had begged, pleaded and finally threatened to go into a convent rather than marry a man she did not know and did not want to know. Even with the whole estate around her with life, she did not share the same sentiment. As the days got closer to her wedding day, she went to extreme lengths to avoid this preplanned life that had been mapped out by her parents. Even to the point of escaping at any cost, only to be caught in the end.

This is a romantic collection of short stories

About me...
I grew up in Colorado and began to travel the United States at a very early age. Living in many states along the way from Alaska to Maine, my experiences have helped develop and encourage my love for writing. Finally moving to New York City for 7 years, my writing career began in creative writing and journalism. Writing has been a passion and love of mine since I was 9 years old. In 2014 I joined OSL Publishing and am very happy with them.

Currently I live in Chicago and still hold that passion and desire to create stories that make the reader wanting more.

I am sampling several of the Kindle Short Reads Top 100 Free works. This was one.
A short story that did not leave the reader hanging (i.e. not just a preview of longer work) but seemed to make jumps in the plot without basis. An enjoyable style and nice characters, though. Work a look.

Eh

The first story was not well written or researched. I was half through the second story and it's fantasy role-playing. When I got the book I wasn't looking for mediocre, but it found me anyway.
