Rate this book
From USA Today Bestselling author Adriane Leigh comes a passionate contemporary romance about giving in to desire so sharp and sweet it threatens to consume...

Georgia Montgomery is desperate for an escape from the life she’s been leading. The perfect job, the perfect apartment, the perfect boyfriend—all are on the cusp of driving her over the edge. On a whim, she buys a beach house on the North Carolina coast, eager to spend a summer with her college friends. She thinks she’s found the perfect balance, until one pleasure-seeking playboy turns her world on its axis. Georgia tries to ignore the tornado of emotion that sweeps through her system whenever Tristan Howell is near, but just like an addiction, one look, one taste, one touch is never enough.

The chemistry is scorching and it isn't long before the slow burn ignites into a full-blown wildfire that threatens to consume anything in its path. But Georgia and Tristan can't shelter their love from the outside world, and the moments of exquisite passion they share aren't enough to sustain the relationship. When scars from the past resurface--will their hearts meld together as one? Or will outside forces tear them apart, leaving an empty shell where love and passion once thrived?

Note: Sweet Alibi was originally published under the titles The Morning After and Light in Morning. New POV scenes and bonus content has been added. If you're not new to this story, buckle up and enjoy all the angst and sweetness of Tristan and Georgia one more time.

Wow. This book puts a good ol' soap opera to shame.

It certainly has all the right ingredients: love triangle, cheating, lots of angst, melodrama, deception and lies, a perfect setting, unexpected twists, a tragic past, a long lost child out there you never knew about, diverse cast of characters, and an addicting story line.

Oh, and let's not forget an annoying heroine. And her naïve friends. The heroine is a difficult and spoiled diva and her friends are stupid for putting up with her behavior and pampering her all the time. The only character I truly like is the hero who (for some reason unbeknown to me) loves the heroine with all his heart.

Perhaps the best description of the heroine’s character gives us the heroine herself:
I was no good at operating my life; I needed someone to do it for me.

Despite everything, I did enjoy this book because the chemistry between the characters was off the charts. And because just like any other mortal, I wasn’t immune to getting hooked on the drama.

All I knew was in this moment, I felt whole again. This girl filled something up in me I didn’t understand; something I never thought possible and something I didn’t realize was necessary for me to thrive, but there it was.

This book completely took me by surprise and I mean that in the most fabulous way possible! I had heard great things about some of Adriane Leigh’s works but I never had the pleasure of reading anything by her and I am so happy that I got the chance to review this amazing book. It turns out this isn’t a new story by the author. She combined her books The Mourning After and Light In The Morning, which were published back in 2013, threw in a few extra scenes and re-titled this standalone as Sweet Alibi. I will be honest, the first 20% dragged for me and let me tell you this book is seriously long because remember she combined two books into one. I didn’t like the Heroine and I wasn’t sure what was all so special about the Hero either, except for the fact that he was devastatingly gorgeous. But my total outlook and interest in the story changed at that first kiss right around the 20% mark. From then on, all bets were off and I was reeled in, hook, line, and sinker!!

I am a reader who loves angst. The more gut-wrenching, the better!! I felt torn up so many times during this story, I must say that if I didn’t buddy read this, I would have needed a stiff drink or two!! So the author had this reader eating out of the palm of her hand!! There is a love triangle and of course that means there is cheating as well. For me, as in most stories with this trope, I always have my guy picked out, so there was never any question in my mind as to which guy should end up with the girl, and I didn’t feel the least bit bad for the guy who loses her. I am not one to shy away from love triangles, but if this is not your cuppa, I don’t think you will enjoy the book although I do have to say I think you’re missing out by not picking this one up.

Georgia Montgomery has just bought a beautiful summer beach home in North Carolina. She and her two best friends will be spending the entire summer there fixing it up so that she can turn it into a rental property. She leaves her boyfriend behind back in D.C. because he’s a lawyer with a ridiculous work schedule that doesn’t allow him to take a vacation. It’s obvious that something is haunting Georgia and that part of the reason that she chose to spend the summer in North Carolina has to do with her relationship with her boyfriend.

Her bestie ends up bringing along her new boyfriend and his friend, Tristan, who is beyond gorgeous. This guy is known as a player and basically has women falling all over him wherever he goes. When Georgia and Tristan meet, there is something sparking between them and things may start off platonic but will spiral out of control when the two give in to their desires. That first kiss just about knocked me out and I was rooting for these two from that moment on. So much of what transpires between Tristan and Georgia reminded me of THOUGHTLESS, which happens to still be one of my all-time favorite books. I found myself comparing a lot of the scenes, but still this story had many elements that made it unique as well.

Georgia was a heroine that was hard for me to warm up to. It took quite a while actually. I hated her every time she messed with Tristan’s head and heart. She definitely needed a serious ass kicking! I just couldn’t understand why she was so dense. I get that she knew about Tristan’s past with women and was afraid he'd end up hurting her, but it was so obvious who the right guy was for her!!

I have to warn you that Tristan is going to steal your hearts ladies!! He has that charisma that will sweep you off your feet and my god, how he loved Georgia!! It seriously made my heart ache for him. And he is INSATIABLE!! This guy will melt your panties with very little effort. Fanning myself just thinking about him!!

This story will keep you on your toes. Never assume all is well because the author throws in twists that make your stomach drop and question how Tristan and Georgia will ever have an HEA by the time you get to the end.

SWEET ALIBIis available now! I thoroughly enjoyed it and give it my highest recommendation!! To those of you who have a strong heart and love for painful angst, this book is definitely one to put on your soon to read list!!

Georgia Montgomery is a 27 yr. old woman living in D.C. with her lawyer boyfriend. Georgia has a horrific painful past & her boyfriend Kyle has always been her protector & her lifeline during her darkest moments. He's been in her life since she was twelve, & always been her rock. On the outside she has the picture perfect life, but the truth is they've been drifting apart the last few years.

Needing a break & desperate for an escape from her life, on a whim Georgia decides to buy a house on the North Carolina coast. She has some money saved up, so she heads to the beach house for the summer with plans to later rent it out. The house needs some work, so she convinced her two best friends to join her for the summer & help fix up the house. One friend shows up with her new boyfriend & his best friend Tristan Howell. Tristan is single & gorgeous. He's fun, flirty & Georgia feels alive around him.

-There was something about her. Something that said she was...more.

-More everything.

-I couldn't tear my eyes away.

-The one girl I couldn't stop thinking about.

-Fuck she was just as affected as I was. I could see it in her eyes.

-In every move her body made.

-"I want you, all of you, Georgia."

-"I'm going to spend the entire summer helping you come to the realization that you want me too."

 photo 36F43E14-43BE-4374-8217-B49D7BCFFB1B_zpsuc2esxbx.jpg

The more time she spends with Tristan, the more she's rethinking everything she thought she knew. They share this easy connection & she feels at peace with him. She's never felt this way about Kyle. She thought being away from him would be unbearable. Instead she's totally infatuated with Tristan. As much as she tries to fight it she can't stop this pull between them and the electricity that explodes every time they touch. There is something unique and special between them, but she's afraid of these feelings & scared to throw away what she has & take a gamble on Tristan. Tristan just wants her to give them a real chance. He's fallen hard for her & never felt this way before.

This book is full of angst. Like as much angst as Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens, but omg I couldn't put it down. This book completely consumed me. It's one of the best I've read this year! It's a love triangle, & Georgia faces many obstacles & tough choices. She has to choose between her old love & her new love & decide which one will be her future. This book is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend it!

 photo EC122AF5-783C-44FB-B65C-8C17AAAF3522_zpsyisqri5f.jpg

-It felt like he'd unlocked a new and previously undiscovered piece of my heart.

-I craved her love, I craved her mind, I craved everything about her.

-"I feel you everywhere. When you're not around I feel you. I need you. I fucking need you so much."

-Fuck, she'd taken my breath away. Every minute, she took my breath away. Every smile, every movement, every word- an endless array of stolen breaths.

-I felt everything with this girl.

-I was her everything. And she was mine.

4.5 ★'s

Georgia's been with Kyle forever and she's just needing something new, something for herself so she moves to the beach and invites her two best friends and they invite their friends and so on. Kyle, of course, wants no part of it. Enter Tristan...who wants it all.

So, first and foremost for those of you that take exception to this...is there cheating?

description

Tristan is quite lovely although he is a manwhore and he gets frustrated by Georgia's denials prompting him to bring girls back to the beach house. This was the slippery slope to me. I get his being hurt and wanting to show Georgia what she's missing out on but...I still didn't like it.

I did love all the drama though...it was sooo good! If you're a angst junkie, you will definitely love this. And things take a while to get resolve so you will get your fill and then some.

The steamy scenes are hot, hot, HOT! And I really enjoyed them but beware there is a whole lot!

The best parts ~besides Georgia and Tristan~ was Georgia's two best friends, Silas and Drew. I loved all of them together and I just loved how they were always there for each other.

The book is long and the dramas keep on coming. One of my main complaints was how the author handled Kyle, Georgia's boyfriend. He went from kind of okay to a total jerk. I just wish she didn't make him so disgusting...was it even necessary?

description

Another part I really loved...and one of the reasons this book is so long...is that the book doesn't end when Georgia and Tristan get together. We get to see them grow as a couple and handle some hurdles. And then...see where their lives take them. I really LOVED that.

So, two big thumbs up for all the glorious angst and a half a thumb down for demeaning the ex. I'm definitely going to read more from Adriane Leigh!

Sweet Alibi by Adriane Leigh is the first book that I have read from this author and definitely won’t be my last. I will be completely honest with you, I am one of those readers who stays away from love triangles but for some reason I had the urge to go take a chance with this book.

#SweetAlibi

A roller coaster. Ms. Leigh took me on one emotional angsty ride as she throws her readers on a whirlwind romance and journey. While this book highlights a love story, I was more drawn to the story of self-discovery of these flawed characters that Ms. Leigh depicted. None of them were perfect and that is what truly had me enjoying this book. While there were times, I was frustrated I loved that Ms. Leigh didn’t hold back in showcasing these imperfections. She allowed readers to see and feel for her characters. Ms. Leigh slowly stripped her characters bare allowing us to see their vulnerabilities and their true heart’s desire. While this book might not be everyone since there is a love triangle, I applaud Ms. Leigh for writing an unconventional romance that beautifully depicts flawed characters discovering new beginnings and love.

So if you are looking for a story where all facets of emotions are sweetly and seductively interwoven into a story, then I would recommend you give this book a try. Ms. Leigh’s emotional story line brings forth and highlights the different shades of love.

I am an absolute sucker for an angsty romance and I adore characters that are flawed and make stupid , sometimes selfish, decisions. I love when two people are trying so hard to fight against their attraction to each other that it becomes frustrating. I love the feeling I get when it is absolute torture for two characters to be in the same room together because they aren’t able to touch each other or even say what they really feel.

I love when hearts are ripped to pieces because a stupid decision was made. I love when a man is made desperate because he can’t have the woman he wants. I love when a woman is sent into a jealous rage because of the same reason. I love the intensity of a secret affair. I love the eroticism it lends to their hook-ups I love when control snaps and characters can’t go a minute longer without touching the other. I love when even after that their hearts get broken. I love that you can never ever be sure of what will happen until the very last page . I love when woman kick ass. I love crazy friends. I love the colour grey. I love the colour salmon even more.

I love the awkwardness, insecurity, and tension a love triangle romance delivers. I love when a book doesn’t follow a straight line. I love when curveballs are thrown into the mix. I love kisses in the dark. I love filthy words whispered against necks. I love fights that turn into hungry kisses. I love sweaty bodies clinging to each other. I love jealousy. I love lingering looks and stolen touches. I love desperate, whispered please to succumb

I love all of these things because, to me, that is passion at its finest. When everything inside you screams that what you are doing is wrong and yet your heart is unwilling is to listen THAT is what makes it sweet. And all these things, all these intense, torturous, frustrating emotions is what makes the ending so, SO worthwile. And this book gave me all of that. I love this book. Read it.

Originally two separate books, the Morning duet went through a bit of a face lift and became Sweet Alibi. I've gotta say, it was a long book.

Tristan was totally dreamy. In my opinion he was too good for Georgia. She jerked him around quite a bit. He had a checkered past but he became unfailingly loyal to her. I understood Georgia’s misgivings but she lacked backbone! She didn’t have the conviction to make a decision and stick with it; to tell herself it was a good, sound decision. I felt bad for Tristan most of the book.

This book was too long in my opinion. There were quite a few times I found myself skimming the pages because I felt like the book was never going to end. I especially skimmed through the sex, and it wasn't poorly written sex but there was just too much book and then the sex scenes just aggravated me because they were contributing to the excessive length of the book. Another contributor to the length of the book, and my second problem with the read was that everything that could go wrong did go wrong. And not in a 'Comedy of Errors' sort of way. It got to the point where it was just painful for me, Tristan and Georgia. Obstacle after obstacle was thrown their way and these just compounded their relationship problems and insecurities. It's like when a TV show has been on for 30 seasons and they keep ruining your favorite couple because they need SOMETHING to fill in all those season. Then there was this one ginormous non-problem that you get faced with and it's awful and you feel bad and just when you're coming to terms with it you find out it's really someone else's problem. Wth?! I could've gone without that additional unnecessary angst. I understand why confronting that fear was important for their relationship but Georgia's loyalty could've been tested out some other less drawn out way.

So, all in all, it was just too much book for me, and too many problems for the couple, in my opinion. If you don't mind a lengthy book where the couple faces a lot of obstacles then this might work for you. It was well written, just didn't fit for me.

Yay! I won an ARC from Shh Summer Buzz Book Event 2016!! Check out the event details here, maybe you could win something too! https://goo.gl/uqgC3u

Sweet Alibi by Adriane Leigh
3.5 stars!!

“I wondered if this would be our battle. He would always fear that I would leave, and I was afraid his past would forever haunt us.”

So, if you have read The Morning After and The Light in Morning duet then please be aware that Sweet Alibi is both books as one but edited and with 10,000 more words of bonus content. I read both those books nearly three years ago and it wasn’t until I was a fair way through Sweet Alibi did something jog my memory and made me look back and realise. So either my brain has turned to mush or the changes made were good enough to make it read as something new.

Sweet Alibi was one book that was jam packed with drama and angst, at about 40% I could have easily thrown in the towel but I didn’t, I was intrigued. I will say that I found our heroine, Georgia, extremely irritating at times, she had no backbone, was a doormat, was fickle, flaky, wishy washy and whiney and just so damn annoying, but there was something about her that made me want to know what had made her that way. Why did her friends treat her like a piece of fragile glass? Why was she so dependent on the boy next door who is now her long-time partner? What were her ties? Just what made her that way? I soon found out. She does grow a pair though, so don’t despair.

“Kyle had given me breath to resuscitate me when I needed it all those years ago, but Tristan was the rehabilitation necessary to make my life worth living again.”

Tristan was adorable with a capital A, he oozed charm, charisma and testosterone and he was most definitely a lady’s man. Having sworn off women he was a manwhore, one or two girls often frequented his revolving door of a bedroom but he was getting older and wiser and was unwittingly awaiting “the one.” The one came when he least expected it and it didn’t help that the one was also in a long term relationship, the one was Georgia.

“…I can’t stay. I want to stay for you, but I can’t. I can’t stay for me. This is crushing me. You’re not mine to want.”

Yes, this does contain cheating and the flip flop of emotions and the toing and froing was enough to give anyone whiplash. Tristan was always sure footed but Georgia was a whole different ball game. Any other guy would have walked away from the drama, the constant limbo and the mixed signals but this was when I came to believe in Tristan’s intentions. He stayed, he should have run, ran far away as possible.

These two have a lot of hurdles to overcome, a lot of emotions and secrets but this will be testament to their staying power…have they got it? The chemistry was seriously off the charts and it is this that really keeps the reader invested in Tristan and Georgia’s story. Their connection in all ways was palpable and could combust many a pantie. The side characters all had their part to play and made way for some great dialogue which had me laughing in quite a few places too.

“…this beats for you. I can’t live without my heart, and you have it.”

Overall, I loved it, I kept reading but I just felt Georgia in the beginning was a bit overdone and could put many a reader off, however, the woman she turns out to be by the end is a clear reflection on her growth and the emotional journey that she has been on. Tristan was a fantastic influence on her and really gave her the confidence to find her feet and more importantly find herself. Even the coldest of hearts will be rooting for them by the end.

“…I was born to love you.”

Sweet Addictive Alibi,
4.5 stars

This is one of those book where you get engrossed in the characters and god help anyone who disturbs you in those omg moments.

Told in two parts,
Part one, one girl, tough choices, three hearts
NO Regrets!

Georgia was a woman with a sad backstory who had clung to her boyfriend Kyle like an anchor since she was 12. Setting up home in a beach house away from her boyfriend was something she needed to do and destiny sneaked on in and played it's part.
Tristan was a playboy, a manwhore, trust issues were at the forefront of Georgia's fears and decisions but pot calling kettle and all that.

Cheating alert!
Yes there's cheating and yes there's reasons, you have to read it out for the understanding behind it all.

Part two, Two people, one love told in dual pov's

So much detail, sometimes the story jumped, I had the feeling the author could of written on and on about these characters that are so wrapped in each other. Part two was so hot once the dramas of part one had subsided, it was all systems go in the hotness department.

Swoon Worthy Alert!
Tristan what can I say, his words, his actions, his heartfelt thoughts.

Tristan: She's taken my breath away. Every minute, she took my breath away. Every smile, every movement, every word and endless array of stolen breaths.

My Girl Forever.

I was taken on a reader's journey that gives you the feels of anger, hurt, awe and love for the characters.

A story of emotions, hurt, angst and tough life changing choices all brilliantly wrapped up by Adriane leigh in Sweet Alibi.

Georgia and Kyle
Georgia and Tristan
Georgia and Kyle/Tristan

Are you confused? So is Georgia...well and Tristan too.

Georgia has been with Kyle for years...ten plus. They are in an established relationship. They live together. But Georgia bought a house on the beach out of state and has decided to fix it up and turn it into a rental, without talking to Kyle. Now don't get all feminist on me, I'm just saying that regardless of whose money it is, a major purchase would be talked about, right?

Nope, not in this case. Georgia decides to spend the summer fixing her new place and hanging with her besties. But her friends make this summer unforgettable in more ways than one. All of a sudden she has two strangers living with her for the summer- no way that's awkward. Nope, the loud sex isn't uncomfortable either. Not exactly the summer Georgia planned.

She really has no idea how off the rails her summer plans will get. Enter Tristan. Gorgeously sexy, sinfully cocky Tristan. Did I mention irresistible? Melts all women with a slight smirk, yup. Trouble is spelled with a capital T.

Nothing like an irresistible guy to make you see the flaws in your current situation. Flaws, cracks, and genuine dismay... Your boyfriend who has no time, energy, or enthusiasm for you. Or the sinfully sexy guy begging for scraps of your time, who happens to like spending it doing anything with you. Tough decision right?

But Georgia has a unique situation and she feels that her past has to dictate her future. She has trouble with the idea of being alone or on her own. It's hard to be open to your future when you cling to your past. When they collide which direction will she turn?

I have to say I enjoyed reading Sweet Alibi but I was very frustrated with Georgia. Not in a good way either. I really wanted to knock some sense into her. Her indecisive behavior was killing me. I understand it to a point but I had a hard time connecting with her because she was so wishy washy.

It was well written and you get a great sense of the characters. I loved the extended Epilogue and the fun of the interviews with the characters.

Georgia Montgomery is desperate for an escape from the life she’s been leading. The perfect job, the perfect apartment, the perfect boyfriend—all are on the cusp of driving her over the edge. This is one powerful read that will carry you on a wave of emotions-sorrow, hate, love, passion, betrayal, grief, sadness, love, tenderness--- there are so many emotions that it will sweep you along a wave . Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop until the very last word.
This book is told in two parts- where she is with two men- consider it when she is with loser 1, and best man 2 and there are three hearts involved. There are emotions involved and everything is so emotion filled and at the heart of it all is Georgia . She is engaged to Kyle . They had been together for many years. She had a very sad backstory and she pretty much hung to Kyle as a safety blanket. She was coming to the realization that Kyle didn’t love her or care for her like she thought she cared for him. Georgia ended up buying a beach house away from her fiancée/boyfriend and setting it up where her friends could come and hang out. That is where lightening hit, Kama played and destiny slide in and all played their parts.
To Georgia’s beach house party came a man named Tristan. He was a friend of Drew’s. Tristan is a player, someone who is considered a manwhore. Yet when he sets eyes on Georgia, all of that changes. Georgia was afraid of Kyle being left alone back home , for she feared of him cheating on her, yet when Tristan sets his sets on her, then she is afraid she will fall prey to him. Then she is afraid she wants what he is offering. There is this connection, this spark between Georgia and Tristan, more so that between Kyle and Georgia. You have to read this story to understand what happens next but, lets just say, I was completely rooting at this point for them to stay the course and end up together……..and when they didn’t, I was in tears, almost to the point of throwing my kindle.
Part two—The aftermath—and the new course. Told in dual POV. There is so much about Georgia that we will get to find out and that sleaze Kyle happens to try to worm his way back. Lets just say, he is not a very nice person. Tristan is such a man, such an alpha, that you want to help him do whatever. Now there is going to be bumps and jumps in the lovers course to happiness. This is Tristan and Georgia’s story of how they come to be. It is not all happiness and light but it is true and right. I loved the ending and it was fantastic and gave me goosebumps in the most proper way. The sex between them was hot. I enjoyed myself and cannot wait to read another book from this author because she writes such stories that make me feel as if I am right there, in the middle of it all.
My rating: 5.0 stars *****

I have to say this book was a great addition to my read list and I love the new combined format with the extend content and best of all male POV!!

Tristian without a doubt is on my all-time book boyfriends and the comparison between this book and the twisted love triangle in Thoughtless is endless. I had a love|hate relationship with the female costar Georgia and I think I struggled the most with her uncertainty around her life. The sexual tension between these two if off the charts, but the pain they cause one another is unbearable.

It all starts over a Manicotti dinner at a NC beach house and a summer getaway with best friends. Georgia was running away from her past and trying to find herself, well Tristian was just looking for an escape. What he didn’t expect was to find that one girl that would set his world on the correct axis. The chemistry between these two is outrageous, but the pain they cause one another is brutal at best. What can these two be running from and why are they so scared of what could come?

The story of Tristian and Isolda is a bittersweet love journey with more pain that anyone should have to suffer. As the friendship between Tristian and Georgia forms they begin to share small pieces of their true self. The connections between their own journey and that of the love story begin and well the passion is strong the pain is worse. What shouldn’t have even started was over before the end of the summer and then pain grew stronger as weeks passed. Then again the real point of love story might be what saves them each…

Let’s just say that the return trip to the NC coast after hurricane season is worth all the struggles.

Really enjoyed the story laid out in this book. It's a multi layered story with a fantastic group of characters. It's easy to follow even we have flashes of the past in the timeline, Georgia's past is an essential part of the story because it has shaped her present life. I wasn't sure what to think about Georgia at first she seemed confused, depressed and at times closed off to her life with her boyfriend it's as if she's just going through the motions. Tristan is yummy he's a complete manwhore but is he happy? The chemistry between the two literally drips off the page, can two people with that kind of pull stay away from each other. Loved their growing relationship he slowly breaks down any barriers and we learn about her past. I really didn't like Kyle from the start he seemed selfish and so full of his own importance but she gave him that power with her actions. The story moved forward at a realistic pace it didn't jump ahead too fast and it flowed naturally.
Who will Georgia end up with if anyone.

4.5 Sweet Stars

I just finished this book and oh how I loved it! Adriane Leigh's writing is A M A Z I N G !
This book was filled with sweet lies and deception.
Heartache. Lust & love. Oh the lust and love was so damn delicious.

Georgia was living a content life. Dating her childhood boyfriend, Kyle. Had amazing friends.
Life seemed perfect. Yet, she was still being haunted by her heartbreaking past. A past that in some ways held her hostage to Kyle.
Until she meet Tristan
Sweet, sweet Tristan ! He made her question everything! E V E R Y damn thing! His sexy smirk and carefree way living life had Georgia eating up his charm. Hell he had me eating it up too. I wanted to jump into the damn pages and kiss him so hard. I was absolutely smitten by Tristan's character.
But Georgia owned him the second they met. And no matter how hard she fought it, he owned her too. He challenged her. And she loved it.

I loved Georgia's journey to find out what that meant for her and Kyle.

Followed by something better.

This story has everything your looking for in a great read. I must warn you that there are human decisions that not all agree with. Mistakes are made and lessons learned. The depth of Georgia and her story is intense and heartbreaking at times. She has to learn to stand on her own two feet and make choices for herself and her future that has nothing to do with her past. Sometimes we get so comfortable with the life we have and the people in that we depend on it. Tristan is a hot alpha male who knows what he wants and fights for it. He has depth that he often doesn't show others. He hides behind his playboy status and doesn't allow others to get close enough to know the real him. Will these two learn to open up and change their ways. Wait that's not all this story throws down twists in with a love triangle. Who will you like, love, hate and want to know about? Read this great book to find out. ** Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood**

What a well written story about a girl, Georgia who gave her heart away at the young age of 12 to Kyle, only to see years later that’s not who it belonged to. She meets Tristan when she buys a beach house in No Carolina against Kyle’s wishes and plans to spend the summer fixing it up with her friends Silas & Drew. Drew brings her boyfriend who also brings his best friend Tristan and boy do sparks fly between Georgia & Tristan! Can she let go of her crutch Kyle who she’s grown apart from? Not to mention her friends don’t like him! Will she be ok without Kyle in her life? Can she truly trust Tristan?
OMG what a great story about learning to stand on your own again and finding true love! Adriane wrote a beautiful story for these two characters I enjoyed the book and I highly recommend this story! 5 bright shiny stars for this one!

There were certain aspects of the book that just didn't do it for me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and as for mine it just wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't like all the screwing around then for the characters to run back to one another as if it were perfectly fine. Just didn't agree with it. :(

Sorry to burst the bubble but this was not nice in the beginning. The lead characters were really bad. I HATED Georgia so much for her choices. She was so scared of being alone forever that she stayed in a destructive relationship and refused to see the light even when all her friends pointed out that fact.

She was in such bad state that she couldnt tell the difference between the good guy and the bad. So she cheated on her boyfriend, refused to leave him after that or come clean and tried to justify her actions initially by the fact that it happened ‘just once’... Apparently cheating is ok if its done under certain circumstances..? WHAT. THE. HELL??

Of course she felt guilty that she hurt the man who was there for her all her life, and who was cheating on her as well throughout the years. Yeah that is a great reason to be in a relationship with someone... And not to mention the I love you’s they were throwing at each other like they were so happy. No self respect at all... Nada.. Definitely not a heroine to look up to or want to know about...

As for Tristan, he was 20 % likable and 80% a dickhead... His side of the story was much shorter than Geirgia’s. He was so mature and proper when he kept screwing around in order to hurt her when she was not choosing him. And he didnt stop after one time either. True love right there...

This went on for the whole duration of the first part of the book which was published first alone.

Then for like the last 3% at the end of the first part the heroine comes to her senses because of Tristan and Isolde’s tragedy... And all of a sudden she cannot stand Kyle and she is ready to face a life alone..!!! She didnt give Tristan a second thought when she was sleeping with her boyfriend and then she was in love with him. Tristan also stops being a man whore and is waiting for her to come back to him... Even though he knew she was always going back to Kyle.

If I were to read this without part 2 I would just want to tear the book apart and burn the pieces... So its a good thing I read both in one go.

The second half was like a different book completely. Both characters were magically healed and were at the same page finally. Ready to grow up and face their reality in order to make it work. Aparently they had something to make work. Surprise Surprise... They were taking it slow like normal people with real lives...

In the end it left a good feeling but the duration was plain torture.

I would only recommend it for the steamy scenes (if you exclude the ones between the heroine and the boyfriend and Tristan’s indescretions) and the happy ending.

***If you are not into cheating, dont bother reading. If I listened to my gut I wouldnt either.***

I really loved and enjoyed everything about this book. Georgia and Kyle have been in a relationship for years and everything seems perfect, but she’s still haunted by her past. She needs a break, and on an impulse she buys a beach house in North Carolina and convinces her two friends to help her fix it up. One of her friends shows up with her new boyfriend and the other shows up with his best friend, Tristan. Tristan is gorgeous, single, and flirty. The more time she spends with Tristan the more she feels a connection and at peace. This book was fantastic , it’s filled with jealousy, cheating, angst, great characters, amazing chemistry, and love. A definite must read.

I would’ve given this book three stars except for the fact that the heroine drove me crazy! Honestly, I just wanted to shake her and scream in her face that she was being an idiot. And now, I expect to feel that way for a small portion of any romance novel towards the end; at least one of the main characters always does something stupid to break them up. Standard. But Georgia frustrated me for at least 80% of the book! Ugh, I just feel so mentally drained. Otherwise it was an enjoyable storyline and Tristan is incredibly swoon-worthy.

This was my second read from this author and although I had mixed feelings after ready her latest release, Revel priest, this book blew me away. I developed a soft spot for Tristan. He was such a patient and sweet character.

I really enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend it.

Only weak point: some parts if the book were a bit slow and I wish we were given a few more pages on their life together once they reconnect.

Main characters: Georgia and Tristan
Supporting characters: Silas, Drew, Gavin, and Kyle
Silas was Georgia's gay guy friend. Drew was her best friend. Kyle was her boyfriend. Gavin was Drew's boyfriend. Tristan was Gavin's friend and business partner.

Georgia bought a summer house to fix over the summer and invited her friends to help. Georgia's boyfriend stayed in DC while she spent time at the beach.
When Gavin showed up with Tristan Georgia knew she was in trouble. Tristan was going to be a difficult temptation that was hard to ignore. Especially with having to listen to the Gavin and Drew in their bedroom.
Georgia continued to remind herself he was a playboy and that she had a boyfriend back home. Tristan was reminded and warned that Georgia was off-limits. Even with all the reminders as to why being together was a bad choice it still felt too good to not give in.

Georgia and Kyle had a very forgiving relationship. Georgia relied on Kyle for comfort and support. Kyle was the bond she needed to get through her past.
Georgia and Tristan blossomed while spending quality time at the beach house. The love, comfort, and emotional connection that grew was electric and full of a commitment that meant more than just a summer fling. Georgia and Tristan began an unconventional fling into a crazy turbulent whirlwind of love and pain.
The story was driven by several topics: the reoccurring nightmare, choosing between two guys, and moving on. Georgia held onto some deep dark secret that Kyle, Silas, and Drew were privy to. Georgia stayed with Kyle out of comfort for him helping her cope with this secret. Torn between two men. One man was a risk offering uncertainty to his one night stand way of life and another man who offered comfort and stability with little attention.

There were a few common elements to the story Thoughtless by SC Stephens. First the character name Kyle, the D-bags were mentioned, the morning coffee sessions, being torn between two guys, and the questionable womanizing ways of one guy. Although, I'm biased since I've read Thoughtless, I felt these two stories shared common elements with some differences that still made for a great read. For awhile the similarities were uncanning. I appreciated the similarities because it allowed fond memories to filter thru.
The story focused on the many different ways these characters showed love and the many different coping mechanisms to eradicate pain and loneliness, and the varied bad choices that led to a variety of different outcomes and consequences. To the very end poor decisions were made.
I'm not sure I needed so many incidents to prove the love these two characters had for each other. It had a tendency of dragging on a bit too far with the endless amounts of poor decisions that continued to plague the bounds of love.
Georgia may have made poor decisions but when faced with life altering decisions she became indecisive. Rather then make a decision she either ignored the situation or fell back to her safe place. It was a tug a war between resolving issues between each past mistake and overcoming them altogether.
