At first, this book intrigued the heck out of me. I fell into it reading like a mad women because the plot. Then it came to a part that made me put on the brakes, big time put them on. It changed how I looked at the hero completely. It didn't make me hate him, but I really took a step back and reevaluated him as a character.
The whole plot twist in the book was amazing. I gave up on actually reading it for the couple, romance part and read it just to see the outcome after the bit that threw me. Overall, a 3 star read. If you're okay with the spoiler bit, I'd encourage you to read it because it really was that good. Just realize if you decide to dive into it, it's not a "perfect romance" by any means. (No real romance is, they are always messy!) The romance bit is something I can see happening closer to real life, to be fair.

I give this 4 cranky stars.
This is the story of an introverted bitchy writer and an online matchmaker company partner. Each has a rocky past.
When Alexandria and Arsen meet it was the proverbial sparks fly. It was also almost literal when she pulled a taser on him. Like I said she was cranky and didn't like to be touched.
Both are dealing with past issues Lex was a bit more complicated. The story starts with Lex losing her crap in an epic way when her manager wants her to sign a 12 book deal she doesn't want to write.
Arsen co owns a matchmaking service, think Millionaire Matchmaker, they developed a computer program that uses deep psychology to match people. He was coasting through his life just happy making others happy and volunteers to guest speak at a college course on love.
This is where they meet again and once again he knew her from somewhere and she didn't understand why they clicked because Lex doesn't believe in love and Arsen makes his living on finding people love.
At first I thought ok this book is good, but not sparking for me. Then I started noticing little clues and then I caught the answer. I was interested to see how this played out. It was different and the twists were rollercoaster worthy.
A few spots I wanted to strangle Lex but I got her mentality after all was revealed. Arsen was a major jerk at times and was stubborn. With a cast of quirky friends and family this book works. A few sad moments and a few funny. Like her witty coffee mug collection and Ren and his nut scape (it may or may not be what you think).
With a nice epilogue to wrap it up in a pretty bow this was a good read.

C.L. Bond’s “Insta-Hate” should be titled “Insta-Love”!
I loved how Bond captured Alexandria—a writer born under the sign of Gemini with some deep issues. The woman was highly opinionated and not easy to please. Then we learn there’s a very real, very tragic reason for her behavior.
I’ve read books about authors writing a novel as part of the plot. This was the first time I read a story about an author who had issues with being an author. Alexandria wasn’t sure she wanted to continue writing. A lot of authors want the traditional deal—a big publishing house offering a fat advance check and promotion for their novel (the reality is a post for another day). She wasn’t sure she wanted that anymore. Furthermore, she had an agent (another thing some authors wish for) and she parted ways with her. Alexandria had doubts about herself, and wanted a break. I think we can all relate to that on some level.
I loved the character of Arsen. At first I agreed with Alexandria, he was just a pompous, arrogant bastard. Then we learn how his story and Alexandria’s intertwine. You can understand his behavior, even sympathize with him.
I didn’t know what to make of Alexandria’s sister Meg. Her actions were to protect her sister, but I wonder if she could have found a better way to go about it. Things might have gone easier for Alexandria and Arsen, if she had.
This story was pretty awesome. It wasn’t just a boy meet girl type of tale. “Insta-Hate” was about love, but it was also about family and self-discovery. When Alexandria reconnected with her past, she found her passion as an author and learned what was missing in her life. Arsen was a successful businessman, but he, too, had a hole in his life. Once he filled that missing piece, he found his joy.
“Insta-Hate” is a wonderful novel with a plot twist. I highly recommend it!

I didn't actually pay all that much attention (if any) to the blurb before I decided to grab myself a copy as I really, really liked the cover and the title alone made me want to give this one a shot. And now that I read the blurb.. I think it's kind of off. Or at the very least I think that the story should have a slightly different blurb where there is at least some focus on the fact that our heroine happens to be an amnesiac who has no recollection of her life before her 18th birthday.
I liked the story, but nothing really popped for me and I can't say that it will be my all-time favourite as I'm pretty sure that I will forget most of it sometime in the future. Just like our heroine forgot all about her life before the accident that made her lose her memories.
Most of the time I liked our hero Arsen, as I did our heroine Alexandria. With Arsen I was mostly bugged by his "No, I do not want to your explanations" kind of attitude toward the end, but Alexandria bugged me even more because I felt that she didn't really want to remember what happened to her that made her lose her memories. I wish that she had had the guts to go to her mother (who she avoided for some reason) way sooner and make her tell her everything about her past. I was given an ARC of this book, and I can't begin to tell you how incredibly grateful I am to Casey for allowing me to read this story.
I honestly thought it would be just a light-hearted contemporary romance, but it's SO much more. What Lexie goes through in her life is horrific and saddening. But how she comes out of it is heroic and applaudable. With two hilarious sidekicks in Jillian and Ava who spit out lines like "Do I need to cut a bi**h?" they bring levity to the very serious layers that unfold in this story.
Arsen is absolutely delicious. He's successful, handsome and pining for his high school love. He makes a living matching people for love, but can't forget the one who got away. He's a very wonderful character. Not too over the top alpha, but not perfect in every way either which makes him great.
This book contains some very sensitive topics, and Casey does such a fabulous job of writing them in a very respectful way. There are no explicit scenes, just the implication of what occurred.
Lexie and Arsen's story literally brought out all of the feels, and at one point my chest literally ached for the characters. I wanted to skip everything to get to the end to find out what happens. I'm not going to tell you, but I will say there's no cliffhanger!
If you are looking for a beautifully written story that will make you think and feel, I strongly recommend Insta-Hate.

Holy wowzers, this one really is a doozy. I would cry harder than a 5 year old who just got kicked in the shin by their best friend one minute, spit out my coffee laughing the next, on this roller coaster ride. I can honestly say this book haunts me, in a good way. I try to stay away from books that seem light hearted but end up going deep and dark, but Casey Bond has this way of tricking me, even though I know none of her books are light and fanciful, they are always raw and emotional. Somehow, maybe it's the beautiful covers, I get suckered in every time. Insta-hate isn't just your typical second chance at love after having your heartbroken Nicholas Sparks love fest, it's absolutely heartbreaking and their are so many terrible secrets that people are hiding, it's hard to pick one out as the tipping point. I will say that there are some slightly disturbing events referred to, though none are detailed in their description, so just read with a sense that it's not bunnies and tootsie pops throughout the book. I loved the addition of a romance author not believing in love, that seems like something that you would actually come across. Beware of spontaneous laughter, snorts and eye rolls (thanks to a certain hairy fella usually.) You just need to read this one to experience something real. GO ahead and grab it today!

I have been wanting to read a Casey L Bond book for a while and seeing Insta-Hate's cover and blurb, there was no way I was passing up to be able to read this one. I'll probably be the first to say it took me a few chapter to get really invested in the characters, I was a bit confused, however, that didnt last long and now looking back the beginning makes a lot more sense to me and I loved how it was presented. CL Bond was very detailed in her writing, once I Arsen was presented, I was hooked. He wears his heart on his sleeve but he's probably one of the most stubborn book boyfriends out there, yes I have declared him mine. LOL Alexandria is in a slump and wants to start fresh, but whats really fresh when you can't remember anything? Arsen brings emotions, Alexandria isn't ready for, however that might just be too late for someone who can't remember her past.
This is def one book you will want to read over and over again, Im glad I waited so long to read Casey L Bond's book. Insta-Hate was well developed and the characters were just epic. Casey Bond will tear your heart out and put it back together in just a few short hours of reading this book.

Wow! What to say about this amazing book? When I read the blurb I expected a book about an author and the Hollywoodish style book I've been loving lately. But it was so much more. It was hilarious and emotional. I laughed and cried and related to Lexi and swooned at Arsen. If you're looking for your next addictive read, look no further. Loved it!

As a huge fan of C. L. Bond, I knew I was going to devour anything she put forth into the market. While I've been an avid fan and reader of her YA/NA material, I hadn't taken the plunge and devoured a piece of her contemporary romance literature as of yet. When granted the opportunity to check out Insta-Hate, how could I refuse? Could it live up to the Bond name and legacy as her other works did?
It's true Bond, that's for sure!
I'll go ahead and get the negatives out of the way for this one. While I enjoyed the novel overall, my biggest faults came within the plot of this one. Bond has always captivated me with her twists and turns and unpredictable endings, but this one really fell short of that I was expecting in the end. Now that's not to say it wasn't a good read, it was just far to.... convenient. And honestly unbelievable at points. While I definitely appreciated the landscape of the characters and their plights, there were several times within the story that I found myself feeling less than excited by the sheer predictability of the plot. At times, it really read much like a soap opera, which is a phenomenal compliment in some aspects, but for a reader who is extremely picky with his romance reads, this one missed the bar for me.
I truly hate to criticize the works of an author I respect as much as I do Bond, but in terms of plot, Insta-Hate really didn't do it for me. Now, that being said, Bond excelled in several other aspects of the novel.
When it came to the characters, I was impressed from page one. Bond really did an incredible job weeding out the imperfections in each character and really allowed them to come into their own throughout the story. In the end, I was thoroughly impressed with the development we saw within the sub-characters, even if I wasn't particularly thrilled about the plot at times. I was particularly impressed by the development of the character of Lexie. Her development throughout the story really was a selling point for me. Again, at times it was a bit confusing, but by the end, I had developed a great appreciation for the message Bond conveyed through Lexie's development. Arsen was a great character, but I really didn't see the development I was hoping from him by the time the novel ended. In fact, a few of his actions had me really questioning his maturity at times.
I'm a little conflicted when it comes to the theme of Insta-Hate. It's by no means a 'light' novel, but it isn't exactly 'heavy' either. There were several opportunities within the plot for Bond to push our emotions to the edge and create that lasting impression we often see with NA Romances, however, as gripping as the story was, I never really felt the extreme emotional pull I was hoping for. I do believe that Bond touched on some huge themes in Insta-Hate that will resonate well with its' readers. Themes such as adulthood, facing your past, life, death, family, and love will leave you pondering your own life long after finishing the novel. Hopefully in a more positive light than our characters in Insta-Hate at times! New adult romance readers will be thrilled by the way Bond wraps up the ending to this novel in a nice perfect, happy package. It's one of those stories that left me feeling warm, even if it wasn't a favorite of mine. It's a true testament to the talent of Bond to transcend the boundaries of writing by publishing in multiple genres and managing to excel at them all.
While I didn't find Insta-Hate to be my new favorite Bond novel, the writing was solid and the characters were written extremely well. While the plot left a bit to be imagined for my tastes, I still found it to be a worthwhile read worth of praise for fans of the genre. That being said, I am granting Insta-Hate by C.L. Bond a 4-star review. Being the first in a new series, I am confident that my issues with book one will be addressed in future installments as Bond finds her footing in this new adventure in publishing. I recommend this novel to any fans fo NA Romance or contemporary lit. Add this one to your TBR today!

Well, I've read a TON of books, Romances, Thrillers, Suspense, Sweet, but it's pretty rare when someone's writing style (and skill) impress me enough that I want to go purchase her (or his) whole backlist. Reading Insta Hate pretty much sealed the deal, and quickly!
Alexandria is having a hard time of things lately. She's a bestselling author and the overwhelming need to write to what her agent wants becomes too much for her (that sounds very whiny, but it's not like that in the book, promise!). The agent actually makes my fingers itch to slap her, but alas...so, Alexandria takes a break from the real world for a minute, traveling with her friend to paradise and signing up for ONE college course.
Little does she realize her first meet up with the professor of said course will throw her for more than a loop.
I won't go into much detail of the plot b/c I don't want to spoil this when you actually read it, but, needless to say.....TWISTS are coming!
Arsen is a hot corporate mogul of a dating/matchup company. Very professional, very successful and very hot. He's a brilliant character and I loved their interactions, even at first when it seemed that their mutual like factor wasn't there, but it was...confusing, I know. Just read it. :)
This is a romance, and yes there is a steamy scene, or two. This is the only complaint I have, I would have liked more romance (not necessarily sex, but just a little more flirty, steamy stuff). I understand exactly what Casey is doing in writing this way, and b/c of the plot, it makes complete sense and ends a little abruptly, but other than wanting a little more connection (romance wise) between the h/h, I have NO other complaints and would purchase this book again. The writing is flat out HILARIOUS and a few times I laughed out loud. Casey's writing sparkles and if you haven't bought this and are wondering if you wouldn't enjoy it...ignore that little voice and purchase it b/c you won't regret it!! :)

When I heard that Casey had a new release coming out I knew I had to read it!! I wasn't disappointed in the least! This is the first book in this genre and she did a great job!
Alexandria is a best selling author that decides she needs a break and decides to take a class called Psychology of Love which leads her life to take a total turn into something she wasn't expecting at all.
Arsen runs a business that helps people find their perfect match, so he's asked as a favor to teach a class at Columbia University...the same exact class that Alexandria is taking.

I loved Alexandria from the beginning. I loved that she had spunk and didn't let anyone walk over her. Arsen was stubborn but I believe it was mostly because he didn't want to get hurt again. Ava was such an amazing friend and I loved Cody too!
When I started this book I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but this story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. There were quite a few twists that I never saw coming!

Alexandria is a best selling author that decides she needs a break and decides to take a class called Psychology of Love which leads her life to take a total turn into something she wasn't expecting at all.
Arsen runs a business that helps people find their perfect match, so he's asked as a favor to teach a class at Columbia University...the same exact class that Alexandria is taking.

One word comes to mind after reading this book. Pageturner! It held my grip until the wee hours of the morning. I was enthralled, gripped, inlove, teary-eyed, happy, sad, entranced, and so much more. An emotional rollercoaster of a novel! I had no idea what would happen at the end but could only hope it would turn out how I had imagined it. Plot twists were abundant. The characters read as if they were people I could imagine knowing. I felt connected to them immediately. I was amazed at how well written the book was and how easy it flowed that I could envision the story within my own mind. It tugged at me from the beggining. We all on some level have a feeling of love from someone. May it be a family member or a friend. But for someone to not feel love on any level in a point in their life is disheartening. I giggled at the jokes within the book or when I passed up the quote "from the windows to the walls" and my own head went straight to the song only to notice the next line to read the character had went there too. So many things within this that I just wanted to give her a hug, hold her hand and help her through the upside down turmoil of her life. I hope that noone goes through what she went through even though I know that it's impossible because of some of the human scum that takes up space and air. Abuse mentally, physically or emotionally is never ok. Please let a friend or someone know to help support you through those times. There is always someone to lean on when you think there isn't.

INSTA-HOT and totally addicting! I read it in one sitting, because I just couldn't put it down. This book had me rolling on the floor laughing. C.L. Bond writes some of the most hillarious lines I've ever read in a book, but Inst-Hate had so much more. I cried (real sobbing, sloppy crying), laughed (side stitching laughter) and also got darn right mad (throw your kindle mad). This book had everything and just when I thought I knew where the author was going with the story, she hits me in the head with a 2 by 4, and the most unexpected series of events happen.
Alexandria is a romance author who just doesn't believe in love. I guess with an ex-boyfriend like Ren who cares more about his genitals than anything else, it's easy to see why. In a rut and needing "something" more, Lexie enrolls in a college course with the advice of her BFF Ava, on love no less. She has no idea that this one decision will turn her whole life upside down.
There is so much to the plot, the author has weaved it perfectly and flawlessly, that I can't possibly say more without spoilers. With that being said, I will just leave a few of my favorite quotes and suggest you grab a copy and get ready for an amazing ride.

This is the first book in the Instant Gratification series. It does stand alone (no cliff-hanger), but, of course, I want to continue reading the series.
I was emotionally bi-polar reading this story. I want from laughing hysterically (good God, may I never receive a selfie like that one!!), to bawling like a two-year old denied their lollipop, to happy giggling tears, with a lot more laughing sprinkled between those tears.
I absolutely loved this unique story and all of the (often-times dysfunctional-ly) real characters. For example, Lexie is an amnesiac, but the accident was years ago. She has learned who she is and has built a life since then. In fact, she has a dream life as a popular, successful, romance author. She is so successful that she is being crushed by the needs of publishers and her agent, plus dealing with her sister’s post-partum depression and a mother she would rather avoid. She also has a when-he’s-in-town narcissistic lover. Yep, her plate is full, just like any real life.
C.L. Bond writes in a style that captured my heart and my funny bone. This is the first book I have read from her, and I definitely want to read more.

This book is such a great page turner and I read it in one setting last night! This is such an emotional coming of age tale but it is also full of twist and turns. Sometimes you can meet someone and feel hate instantly but not be sure why. Maybe hate disguises itself as love.
C. L. Bond works on just that premises on this book. This book has several mature scenes so I say it is more new adult to adult reading. But I highly recommend it for these audiences. When you start it you will want to finish it.
The characters are so authentic that I'm really said that I cannot meet and hang out with Alex though complex she is someone I can see myself befriending. The writing is fantastic as to make me feel the emotion of the book. I love books that make me bond with the characters.
So grab it, read it, and love it!!

Insta hate Is one of the best books I had ever read! I giggled and laughed, I cried, I gasped, I cursed... I exhibited partially every emotion while reading this masterpiece!! Casey Bond outdid herself with writing this one! The storyline and plot was AMAZING. The characters were great, and relatable. The dialogue between characters was contemporary and whole hearted! There was some suspense and intrigue in the first half of the story then the pieces just came at me in the middle and I ended up binge reading to find out what happened!
So much emotion went into this book and so much emotion came out of this book! I truly enjoyed reading this story and I am so so anxious for more!

I did not know much about this book before I started reading it and I insta-loved it! I am originally from the North and spent a lot of time in New York and felt like I actually knew some of the characters....although the names had been changed! It was like riding a roller coaster when you really love them! There are highs, lows, and twists and turns! The funny parts had me cracking up and people looking at me while other times I had to look like I lost my best friend. So very well written!

Lexie, I want to be her Ava, or her bestie. Arsen, I wanted to smack some stubborn out of him, although it came from pain.
I've read this book twice in two days. Twice!!! And I do not read contemporary romance, ever. It's too sappy for my taste. But Insta-hate? Was worth every second of my time!
You must read this! Everyone of you should read this!

I don't even know, not sure if I liked this book or hated it... it was so good and dramatic but then I found myself so angry at some points.

I picked this up in a whim & a few hours later, was still on it & before I knew it had gobbled it all up! Loved it, early Lexie was more fun than later Lexie (same as Arsen actually who had wildly extreme behaviour), and I wished we could have continued with the teaching part of it but those are small-ish quibbles considering I wasn't expecting much from this.
Will definitely be reading more CL Bond

I loved the witty characters in this story! Oh my gosh, there were so many one liners that I was crying laughing at some points! Seriously, I loved the storyline and the twists and turns that this book took me on. Talk about a roller coaster ride of an emotional journey! Grab this one and give it a try!

How can you pass on a title like Insta-Hate? The cover was intriguing and so was the synopsis, so I knew I had to check it out!
The storyline hooked me immediately. The tension between Alexandria and Arsen was palpable and it quickly became a page-turner, as I was eager to find out what the big “secret” was. I liked the characters, they were well developed and the history and familiarity between the two, even though Lexie didn’t remember it to start with, made for a story that you couldn’t help but root for them. The story is told in a first person perspective from both characters’ points of view.
There were certainly some surprises along the way, but the angst between Alexandria and Arsen got to be a bit much, especially since the characters are in their mid to late 20s. While I did enjoy the book, it wasn’t without its problems. The introduction of too many characters at one time left me a bit confused at times and the dialogue was clunky, several times you’re not sure who is speaking. I actually had to search characters’ names at times just to remember who they were, and then when I remembered who they are, they were so minor and trivial, they probably could have been edited out and no one would have been the wiser.
In summary, I did enjoy the book and I would recommend it to others, I just wish perhaps it was a little bit better edited; it would have made it easier to read, for sure. This is my first read by this author and I would definitely check out her other works.

There are better books on which to spend your time.

I couldn't put this book down for the first half. There was a huge twist, like wow, wasn't expecting that, but unfortunately, part of that killed the romance aspect of the book for me. Chemistry was there, but more steamy scenes were needed.
