Banks Sisters #3

The Banks Sisters 3

Rate this book
Just like any dysfunctional family reunion, loyalty, love, and good times soon turn to bitterness, regret, and promises to never see one another again. At the end of the day, the Banks sisters are no different than any other family in the city of Richmond--other than the fact that they are rotten to the core. Sure, the girls are bonded by D.N.A, but they're also tied together because of their past of robbing banks, extortion, drug dealing, and even cold-blooded murder. However, that bond means absolutely nothing to them. When it comes down to it, it is every sister for herself, even if it means throwing her siblings underneath the bus to avoid the consequences of their many crimes. Sisterly love be damned; this is survival!

Nikki Turner

After Nikki Turner read The Coldest Winter Ever by Sistah Souljah she was dismayed that there weren't other books like it. "I wanted to write the kinds of books I wanted to read," said the bestselling author, whose 2002 debut novel, A Hustler's Wife, would go on to sell more than a few 100,000 copies.
While Nikki Turner's first two novels were published by a small publishing house in the Midwest, in 2004 she signed a 2-book deal with One World, an imprint of Ballantine Books, which is part of The Random House Publishing Group. After publishing the first book under that deal, The Glamorous Life in 2005 as well as a short story collection edited by Nikki, Street Chronicles: Tales from da Hood, One World quickly signed Nikki up for three more Nikki Turner Original novels and negotiated a deal with her for her own book line, Nikki Turner Presents. "I want to give new authors the same kind of opportunity I was given," said Nikki. "I want to produce authors who will be household names."

I see a number 4 in the future.... I'm looking forward to reading the next installment with the new developments revealed in this book. Miss Thalia made me proud this episode. I enjoyed the introduction of Wolf and Rydah, I'm hoping I don't get my feelings hurt in the upcoming episode regarding this Wolf fellow. Things definitely got sticky in a couple areas and got my interest piqued to see what's to come.

I love this series. These sisters do the most!! I (by mistake) skipped the 2nd part so now I will go back and read it.
This series is almost as good as the Rev Curtis Black series.....ALMOST (smiles).

I rate this novel: 3.5 stars. This was a first time reading a Nikki Turner novel. Although several novels had been suggested to me, I stumbled upon this book at the library.

I enjoyed it overall. The Banks' sisters are definitely something else and just as close as they believe they are, they each hold their own secrets.

There were quite a few grammatical errors throughout the book as well as background sections that were repeated I suppose for emphasis.

I definitely think there will be a part 4. Who doesn't want to know what happens of Rydah, Simone, Tallyah...and now BUNNY?! And how loyal truly is Wolfe if the allure of power, fame, and money are enough to test him?

Amazing

I've loved this series of books. Each one I gets better by the moment. I can't wait part 4 comes out. I think the author should release 4 and 5 at the same time. Lol definitely worth it you will be satisfied.

With the ending of book two and a strong start with Rydah’s story, I had high hopes for this book but ended up with more questions than answers. For starters, Rydah was a great character and Diedre selling a child made sense, but why wasn’t that fact mentioned in the other two books?? Why did Rydah know about her sisters but not the other way around? I really loved Rydah’s story but it was almost like reading a new book and Tallhya and Simone were just accessories. We don’t find out what happened to Ginger, we don’t find out what happened to Pastor Street, and Simone is barely in the book, yet we’re getting whole new characters.

Tallhya living broke in a motel and attempting to rob another bank was so odd. With everything the girls went through to get the deed to the house back, why live in a motel? The house was as much hers as it was Simone’s, and the failed bank robbery was never mentioned again. Also, her randomly being into tech and being able to get tracking devices on Abe and Princes phones was outlandish. Considering Tallhya was barely in the second book, there was never any mention of her being able to do stuff like that.

There was mention in the book that Buffy set Rydah up because Rydah denied her relationship advances but that made no sense. Rydah never mentioned that Buffy tried to date her and the carjacking was actually set up by Jaffey, Buffy was just a pawn in his plan so why was the failed attraction even mentioned?

Chase being assigned to the Case in Miami was another odd thing. Of all the detectives in America, they assigned a random detective from Richmond, VA to a high profile case in Miami??? It just didn’t make sense. And after all of that, Me-ma’s house is just sitting empty in VA? Also, Bunny ending up being an informant was off the wall and out of character. We find out in the last few pages that she was actually alive.

Lastly, what happened to Ginger!?!?!?!?!? I wanted to scream when the book ended without mention of it. And why are we getting back story on Ivy which wasn’t important as opposed to finding out about the main characters?

All in all, this book left me with more questions than answers and it doesn’t seem like there’s a 4th book to finish it off. If this book was about just Rydah’s story I think it would’ve been better but the story lines weren’t cohesive and left too many loose ends.

This book was interesting enough to make me read it within a days time . There were parts of the book where I thought , ok where is this going, but at the end it all ties together . If you like an action packed book and like things to repeatedly jump off , this book may come off a little boring to you . As a writer myself , I pay great attention to details and somethings seemed strange to me or didn’t add up . Some things seemed like the author rushed them and didn’t go into much detail as she should , especially in book 2. Also I must mention the new sister , rhyda. I think she could have did better in introducing this character and it’s almost like she had a change of mind of how she wanted this character to be . At first rhyda came off as very mean and stuck up but as the story progressed she seem to be the nicer and calmer sister or the 3. Like I said something does not add in in this book , but I think this is common in series book . The author forces another book from the series causing somethings to be fabricated or hard to believe . SPOILER !!! How is it that Bunny is still alive ? Did they not identify the body after learning of her death ? Did they not have her a funeral ? I don’t understand how her and Chase was able to basically fake her death ! Weird

This book was crazy good. I can’t believe I took so long to read it. However I don’t think this will be the last of the Bank Sisters. Nikki never disappoints me!! Wolfe had the perfect name in this book he truly lives up to his name. And I wonder how much does Chase know about his wife & her sisters involvement in the bank robberies. And would he do if he knew about her involvement with the armor truck heist?? So many unanswered questions makes me only want more. Those government files are going to cause more harm in their possession than good. I hope Ryder knows what she’s doing...their is a Wolfe on to her scent!! A MUST READ to understand what I mean by that statement.

Series continues with 2 of the 4 sisters dead and the remaining sisters trying to make it. One of the sisters discovers she has breast cancer and has to use the bank robbery money for her treatment. The other sister fresh out of a psych ward has no money and tries to rob a credit union and fails terribly. The sisters find out their grandmother had a secret account of money that is theirs and they discover they have another sister living in Miami. The sisters meet and their bond is great. Many tragic events happen which sends the sisters into robbery again only to find they have gotten involved into something way over their heads.

The last book ended abruptly.
I'm not sure where you can kill off a main character in a few sentences at the end of a book. But, that's what happened to Ginger at the end of part2.
Part 3 introduces a new sister.
While a little more cohesive... I don't know. You find out about a sister. But none of the living characters express their reactions? I did like the Buffy story line.
If I heard anything else about their grey eyes? Once the author tells you about a characters looks and or physical attributes, why is there a need to remind us on almost every page?
It's a fast read.

My review in 6 words: the stranger in my bed

Wow. Just wow. It is definitely going to be a Part 4. This book introduced us to a new Banks Sisters that we didn’t know about previously and she is a heart throb. I am still shocked at the ending, like wow....y’all both carrying secrets into the relationship but the secrets connect. I can’t wait for the next part to see how it unfolds

Lawd these cliffhangers

The beginning was a bit puzzling but it all falls in place. Even though she moved on I really wanted T to get at Walters butt for being so disrespectful. Great read can't wait for part 4.

Wow that ending got me. These women can’t trust anyone not even there own siblings. I thought Wolfe was a straight up guy but after that ending he’s not to be trusted either and Chase is a low down dirty dog for what he did to Bunny. Good series but book 3 was the best.

Hopefully it will surely be a part 4. Book 3 was one of the best installments of the series.
