A former Army major and CNN's Gulf War military affairs analyst examines the planning, the buildup, and the execution of the Allied air and ground attacks on Iraqi forces from both a tactical and operational perspective
Readable and interesting. I only picked this up for research (for my post-apocalyptic series, The PULSE EFFEX), particularly for Book Three, DEFIANCE--and found it useful and enlightening. It's not a political discussion of the whys or wherefores of the war in Iraq, but a thorough overview of the tactics and strategies, from all sides. It fit the bill for what I was looking for. Any military buff would enjoy this book.
Anyone wishing to understand the Persian Gulf War will find this book enjoyable. However, the lack of footnotes and a bibliography reduces its value to a military historian.
