Freunde und Feinde
Blueberry polarisiert. Er macht sich Feinde, die ihm nun schon seit einiger Zeit das Leben schwer machen - doch gleichzeitig findet er Freunde, die ihm in Not beistehen. Beides trifft in diesem Band geballt aufeinander...

Viele Cowboycomics konzentrieren sich auf die breit ausgetretenen Wege der "frontier", des "Wilden Westens" in Goldgräberstädten, auf Saloons und Shootouts in Nothing Gulch. Nicht so Blueberry - die wüsten Gegenden im Südwesten sind es, wo man ihn findet. Pueblos, Apachen und die Suche nach Wasser nach einem langen Ritt verorten diesen Comic anders als die meisten anderen, und ein gewisser Realismus (nur hin und wieder unterbrochen durch die Klischees des "aus-der-Hand-Schießen-der-gegnerischen-Waffe" oder des "Durchschießen-des-Seils", auf die man in diesem Genre scheinbar nicht verzichten kann) hebt "Blueberry" doch von seiner Cowboycomic-Konkurrenz ab.

Man spürt in diesem Band bereits, dass die Reihe eine Richtung einschlägt, die eher auf die Interaktion Blueberrys mit den indigenen Völkern hingeht als auf das Runterrattern von Cowboyfolklore; das gefällt mir gut, und ich hoffe, ich täusche mich damit nicht.

Πρώτη επαφή με τον πασίγνωστο Μπλούμπερι, κάτι που ήθελα να κάνω καιρό μιας και έχω γνωρίσει τον Μοέμπιους σχεδόν σε όλες του τις εκφάνσεις πέρα από ουέστερν. Πέρα από την γενικότερη αδιαφορία προς το είδος, αυτό το πρώτο τεύχος δεν με συγκίνησε. Μια αξιοπρεπής ιστορία άγριας δύσης που έχουμε ξαναδεί πριν και μετά την έκδοση της σε διάφορες παραλλαγές και περιείχε αχρείαστες σεναριακές ευκολίες που στην πραγματικότητα δεν θα συνέβαιναν ποτέ. Αν διάβαζα λούκυ λουκ δεν θα με ενοχλούσε αυτό, αλλά εδώ που έχουμε να κάνουμε με πιο ρεαλιστικά σενάρια από τον Σαρλιέ με ξενίζει. Όχι πολύ, αλλά υπάρχει και είναι σχεδόν παιδική η αντιμετώπιση (π.χ. προς το τέλος που ο κυβερνήτης των μεξικανών ενώ δεν βρίσκεται υπό καμία πίεση από εχθρούς, αποκαλύπτει από μόνος του που είναι η κρυψώνα με τα όπλα, στοιχείο που προφανώς θα παίξει καίριο λόγο αργότερα στην ιστορία).

Ίσως πρέπει να αποδεχτώ μια και καλή ότι τα γουέστερν δεν είναι για μένα. Παρόλα αυτά, τουλάχιστον το συγκεκριμένο τεύχος δεν με έπεισε για την όλη "δόξα" της συγκεκριμένης σειράς. Ακόμα και τον Ζιρό τον έβλεπα μερικούς τόνους πιο κάτω από τα σχεδιαστικά στάνταρ που πολλάκις μου έχει αποδείξει ότι μπορεί να φτάσει.

Continúan (literalmente) las aventuras del teniente Blueberry ahí donde habían quedado en el anterior número con este álbum, que no es más que un eslabón más (el final queda por completo abierto) del conflicto con los apaches y los navajos en la frontera mexicana. Continúa, además, la receta del pasado número: toda la acción se articula entre los magníficos escenarios naturales perfectamente retratados por Jean Giraud (quien va asentando también su estilo en el trazado de los personajes) y el ingenio de nuestro protagonista para resolver los conflictos y desafíos que se le van poniendo por delante.
La gran diferencia es que este número se centra más en los personajes, gracias a que el elenco es más reducido y que se centra en un puñado pero bien carismáticos. Cabe citar que es la primera aparición del bueno de Jim McClure, que se convertirá en un personaje recurrente. Así, hay más humor (ya perfilado previamente), más aventura, más intriga y unos cuantos momentos épicos que sientan muy bien a la narración.
Es de agradecer que Jean-Michel Charlier se toma su tiempo para desarrollar la trama, lo que va dando más empaque y profundidad a las ideas que se perfilaban en los primeros números de la serie.

Avevo un po' tralasciato il caro Blueberry ed è ora di riprenderlo in mano. Anche perché ho qualcosa come sette volumetti da leggere uno di seguito all'altro.

Stranamente, son riuscita a rientrare nella storia senza particolare problemi, nonostante l'avessi abbandonato da un paio di mesi.

Avevo notato anch'io che c'è spesso un deus ex machina che risolve la situazione, tipo i puma che attaccano al momento giusto i cavalli degli Indiani, però per il momento la cosa non dà fastidio.

Faccio un po' fatica con lo stile di disegno, però. E questo mi rende la lettura un po' pesante. Per questo ci vuole lo stato mentale giusto per affrontare la lettura.

Con il prossimo numero si conclude il primo ciclo delle avventure del tenente.

Une fois arrivée à bon port, pas de repos pour Blueberry ! Il repart en mission. Il doit cette fois retrouver le lieutenant Craig parti délivrer un message au président des Etats-Unis.<

Mais Aigle solitaire, l'ennemi juré de Blueberry, va tout faire pour l'en empêcher. A noter, la première apparition de Mac Clure, personnage qui deviendra un comparse récurrent de Blueberry.
