This is a breakthrough concept on dealing with chronic pain. The battle is in the mind. Your attitude to the pain will determine how you choose to deal with it and will either prolong it or speed up recovery.
It is the first time I looked within myself and acknowledged that the trauma one may suffer might not necessarily be physical but emotional, or both.
I recommend you read this book with an open mind and reread it until you understand clearly the work you need to do to conquer your chronic pain. It is definitely in your power to overcome it, hopefully without the need of surgery or long-term medication.

The author prescribes meditation, exercise, healthful diet, positive thinking, and spending time with friends. It's your basic recipe for living a healthy life. If you need specifics such as how to meditate or why all of these things help, you can read the book. Otherwise, this summary covers it and you can save yourself some time and money.

First 3/4 have poignant stories about different ways the same injury will lead to or not lead to chronic pain depending on an individual’s mindset and then clarifies, with scientific studies, exactly what happens in the brain to create chronic pain. Very informative and helpful for indeed conquering your chronic pain, as the title suggests

Interesting perspective. I'm not sure just how helpful it is to me personally, but I can see how others might find it useful.

Several tips to manage chronic pain, but I would debate the use of the word conquer.

This is an excellent and readable explanation of chronic pain. Unlike acute pain, chronic pain changes our brain and can not be cured by treating the "affected area".
A must read for those who suffer and those who treat.
