For fans of Minecraft and graphic novels, an epic, full-color adventure—Phoenix must save her village from the ghost of Herobrine.
This full-color, graphic novel adventure, with over 750 color images, is created especially for readers who love the fight of good vs. evil, magical academies like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter saga, and games like Minecraft, Terraria, and Pokemon GO.
The redstone dust has barely settled after Phoenix’s epic battle against the Defender when word of a new threat the legendary ghost of Herobrine has been sighted in Phoenix’s village, and under cover of darkness, he’s terrorizing a new family each night.
Phoenix and T.H. rush to the village, where they discover a tangled string of clues. Just as the friends-turned-sleuths are sure they’ve unraveled the mystery of Herobrine’s griefing, they uncover a secret that makes them question everything they’ve learned.
And when a new, stronger enemy appears, their hunt for Herobrine is turned on its end once again. Can a ghost be in danger? And could Herobrine cease to be their enemy and instead become . . . their ally?
Fans of Minecraft won’t want to miss this gripping, mysterious addition to the series that began with Quest for the Golden Apple !
I have wanted to be a writer since I was four years old and fell in love with reading. I wrote stories and songs and poems. I wrote plays and scribbled thoughts and ideas in notebooks. I wrote when I was supposed to be doing sports, and sometimes I wrote under the covers by flashlight when I was supposed to be asleep in bed.
I got my first big break writing stories for Sesame Street video games. Then I helped design and create video games based on books, like Bruce Coville's My Teacher is an Alien and Roxie Munro's Inside Outside World. I got my big break when Byron Preiss commissioned me to write my first novel, Dragon School. I felt like the luckiest person in the world because I got to live my dream! That was 20 years ago! Since then, I've written many more books. I write about Paw Patrol, SpongeBob Squarepants, Mickey Mouse and Bubble Guppies for little kids. I write about Fortnite, Minecraft and Terraria video games for bigger kids. I also get to write about cool trends like Fidget Spinners, the K-Pop band BTS, how to record your family history, and a guide to playing Pokemon Go!
None of what I do would be possible without encouragement from my family and friends, the love and support of my amazing husband, guidance from all the fantastic editors, publishers and illustrators I work with, and of course letters and notes from readers like you!
My son would give this a higher rating, because it's Minecraft! For a graphic, the pictures were often too dark to see, and grainy most of the time. Seemed more like a rip-off of someone's Minecraft game, rather than a cohesive story with good illustrations.
I kind of liked this book because It was very exciting. I did not really like this book because I don't think it was as exciting as the other books. I still LOVED this book because I think it was very Minecraft-related.
My kid bought these books at a book fair and now I have to read them to him. The dialog is mundane filler, the pictures are extremely low contrast, and the comic sans style typeface is difficult to read. I'd throw these books away if my child wasn't so enamored with Minecraft.
"Chasing Herobrine" takes readers into the pixelated world of Minecraft, offering an engaging narrative set within its expansive universe. For fans of the game, the very mention of Herobrine stirs up intrigue and a sense of mystery, and this graphic novel taps into that allure effectively. The artwork captures the blocky creativity of Minecraft without compromising on the expressiveness of the characters or the vigor of the action sequences. Each panel is vibrant, and even those not familiar with the game can appreciate the unique visual style and flow of the narrative. The illustrations bring the novel to life and make you feel like you are a part of Minecraft. One of the most exceptional aspects of the book is its ability to weave a compelling storyline that resonates with both Minecraft enthusiasts and newcomers. The character interactions are well-thought-out, lending depth to the narrative and making it more than just a simple chase. themes of friendship, determination, and courage are interspersed with the thrill of adventure, making it a read that's as heartwarming as it is exciting. However, like any adaptation or work inspired by another medium, it's essential to approach it with the understanding that it's a reimagined space. Purists might find certain liberties taken with the myth, a bit bleak , but it's these very liberties that make the narrative fresh and unpredictable. In conclusion, "Chasing Herobrine" is a delightful dive into the Minecraft universe, one that blends the charm of the game with the immersive nature of graphic novels. It's an enjoyable read for fans and a fascinating introduction for the inexperienced. A must read ! I rate this novel ***** (5 Stars) It has great storyline, adventure ,and amazing illustrations.
Among the worst quality things I've ever read. The text content is abysmal. The images are literally just screen caps and they are so low quality and low contrast that I can't parse what's happening. This honestly might have been created in MS Paint. Hard pass.
This book is about how phoenix and his friends try to find out the truth if herobrine has come back from the dead or not. but no matter what stands in there way they will pervail from these new threats.
