A very good book especially for beginners!

I would highly recommend this book especially if you are a beginner. I appreciate the efforts taken to give a complete description of the cards...the card story, the environment and the symbols. I also liked that there are so many examples, one for each spread. The card story is explained from ace to ten and back and the same for the Majors...fool to world and back. Clearly a lot of thought and effort are put in by the author. Its almost as if she understands the mindset of a newbie! Thank you very much for this book and also your you tube videos 😊

Ghare offers a nurturing and accessible approach to learning the tarot. Her tone is friendly, sometimes cajoling, and always supportive and understanding. I learned to read tarot by reading texts by Jungian-influenced tarot readers and experts such as Angeles Arrien, a fine way to learn, but I would have welcomed an approach such as Ghare's to pair with my book-learning. Budding tarot readers who learn from Ghare's book might want to also explore additional primary sources in addition to the secondary sources Ghare offers, mostly on Wikipedia. However, you can rely on Ghare's how-to text to get to know your tarot cards and use them to better understand yourself and others and in readings do the same for others.
