Meat Space

Rate this book
When a deadly Virus sweeps through the virtual space of the Nexus, Kindre is cast back into the real world. Abandoned centuries ago for the electronic dreams of massive computers, reality is cold, hard, and strange. And Kindre has left behind loved ones in the Nexus, particularly his lover, Toby. Kindre embarks on a fruitless quest to find his lover, aided by Marx, a rickshaw driver, and long-time resident of the real world.

Marx loves the real world, the feel of it, the smells, the tastes, all those things that computers don't understand. He introduces his new friend, Kindre, to all the joys that reality holds; food, stargazing, music, and, most of all, love. But when the Virus is stopped, Kindre will have to face the hardest choice of his life...

It took me a couple of pages to get into Meat Space, but once I did I found it a thoughtful and sweet story. I was happy with the way things worked out for the characters.
