I just couldn't with this book. I got just over 50% and gave up in disgust.It wasn't the books theme. I like stories where the hero works in the adult industry, some of my favourite books are this trope. Nope, it's the sheer stupidity and carelessness of the main characters. He is a construction worker by day, a stripper by night and a gigilo after that. He's trying to earn as much money as he can to pay off his grandfather's hospital bills as well as his mortgage. Didn't have issues so far. Heroine first "meets” hero when she rushes into a male restroom by mistake and gets quite an eyeful of his rather large "package". They run into each other soon after and it's LOVE.
This is where the book falls apart for me. It's instant love right off the bat, at first sight. Since her first sight was of his "package", what was it she was falling for?
Another HUGE fail, the night after he meets her, he has a gigilo job with not 1, not 2, not 3 but FOUR women all at the same time. Give me a freakin break!! Talk about overkill!!! And ALL of it unprotected. After this night of overkill, he decides he loves the heroine too much to keep up with his gigilo job. He does think he should get himself tested for STD's (gee, do you think?) and gets it done. But does he wait for any results? No, of course not. He and the heroine have unprotected sex the very next day. Disgusting in my opinion. Disgusting, dangerous and life threatening IMO since unprotected sex seems to be the norm with this idiot.
Another fail, hero and heroine seem to have no reservations at all with detailed talk about their very active sex life in front of gramps as well as others. No, just no.
And yet another huge fail for me, the heroine has rented a cottage for herself and friends while they prepare for the wedding of a friend and they CONSTANTLY call each other bitches. Hey, I recently got back from a week at a cottage with 3 other women and occasionally we called each other that but NOT ALL THE TIME. If I had a print book I would have hurled it but since it's an iPad, I refrained. But that was it, I reached my limit. If I could give less than one star I would so I very reluctantly give it a one.

3 durty stars
Dirty is a story about everyone deserves to be loved. Zane is a man addicted, money, sex, women...it all comes easy for him. After all God gave him the goods to make a living off his body and he lives life to the fullest with no fucks given.
The day Ava walks into his life, everything is thrown off balance. Ava is a strong woman who knows what she wants, she's passionate and pure temptation for a man like Zane.
How could a woman like her want a man like him, especially after she finds out about his extra curricular activities. Ava accepts him for who he is, past and present... She just has to show him he's worth her love.
This was a sexy, enjoyable ride, but I found Zane to be a hard man to love. Told from both POV's you get to be in there head, so you know all their thoughts, fears and desires. In most ways it's a good thing as I got to empathize with them, BUT it also frustrated me and pissed me off. The balance of the good and bad, kept me off kilter and just made my reading experience one that I liked but not loved. Still recommended, especially if yo want something dirty.

3 Dirty Stars
Hmm I liked the book but I didn't love it and that's ok right.. There are some great characters in this book. I liked the cougars.. I am so weird.. but they were funny, and fun. I just thought it was different.
Zane’s parents are in jail, and he needs to make money for medical bills and a mortgage.
So he dances, or I should say strips. But he also hooks to make ends meet.
Only he is having a hard time keeping his head in the game after he meets Ava.
Ava and Zane have the pull toward each other. Almost like the instalove.
Lots of sex, lots of drama, some laughs.
I found a lot of plot holes for me. I was confused I felt like Zane and Ava had known each other longer in some of the early dialog but then later on it was like they just meet. I don’t know it was hard to stay in the story.
The narration on this audio is good, not my favorite. But they did a good job bringing Ava and Zane to life.

An emotional story which shows us what a person is willing to do for family or someone who is very dear to us. That what Zane is doing, he is this type of selfless person when it comes to his grandpa...here we have a totally different hero from what we used to see a wounded, traumatized man who grew up without his parents but his own hero, his grandpa.
He feels very blessed about it but now life plays another game with him and threatens to take away this blessing. It's truly remarkable to see Zane trying so hard to provide anything to his family even doing some really "dirty" things to succeed it. He has create a world based on these facts with so many rules, which now he is about to break for the sake of Ava the girl who man grew up with her parents but her life wasn't a fairytale either. The attraction between them was instant, Ava never expected to find another family in Zane and his grandpa and grew some feelings for both of them. In addition their explicit scenes and their dialogues were very hot and enjoyable.
Generally this story is filled with way too many emotions combined with the element of suspense and the few twists you definitely can't get bored, the plot is unfolding with fast pace and you see how the characters are evolving, so all these good ingredients kept me reading 'till the end without a pause.

Didn't exactly hate it I just didn't like the Hero all that much.
OW ruined it for me. I figured based on the type of story there would be OW but it made me not believe a connection between the main characters. H was never planning to tell the h what he used to do for money until it came back and bit him in the ass in a bad way.
Wasn't feeling this.

After his parents were locked up in prison for murder, Zane's life has never been easy. Every young man his age were going to college and enjoying relationships, while he was doing three jobs a day just to extend his grandfather's life. He wakes up every morning with one goal: Make money and pay his bills.
Growing up in a prominent family, you'll think Ava has a life where she gets what she wants. Nope, not like that. She grew up being told by her senator dad and trophy wife mom what to do. The only thing they weren't able to stop her from is taking up Journalism in a university she preferred.
Coming from different worlds and having different responsibilities in a life that they don't own, will Zane and Ava be able to conquer it all and eventually be able to live happily ever after?
Okay, this book is without a doubt H.O.T! EXTREMELY HOT! When you open the first page, BAM! it's pure sexiness that will welcome you to Zane's filthy world!
I thought I was just reading a predictable love story of a manwhore and a rich girl, but it was more than that. This is something I wasn't prepared for. It's a steamy, yet very emotional read, specially when reading Zane's POV. I love this guy so much!
This is my first HJ Bellus read and I was really surprised with how she made Zane and Ava's story more than what most people think it is.
Just when you thought it's just another Magic Mike book, think again, because as you flip the pages HJ Bellus will give you one experience worth remembering! Hope you're ready for Zane because things are about to get DIRTY!

Ava and Zane are nothing a like, yet there is a pull that is like nothing they have ever experienced. Can the demons of their past be let go? Can these two fight for what it is that they really deserve? Can they move on and find that happiness does exist with a few sacrifices?
I like how this story took us in one direction, tossed in a few curve balls and left me feeling like everything was going to be...okay!!
Can't wait to dive into book #2!!!

I still remember the day HJ Bellus first messaged me, asking me to review her upcoming debut novel, CREE. It seems ages ago and now, almost 20 books later, HJ Bellus brings us a sexy page-turner in DIRTY. Now, when I say sexy, I really mean HOT. The sex scenes in DIRTY will cause HJ Bellus to receive letters from her fans 9 months from now, introducing her to their new babies! Hot. Hot. HOT.
Zane Rivers was SO much more than just a stripper. He was a sweet alpha (something I don’t read often) that did what he HAD to do for those he loved. He went to the ends of the earth, and then some, for those that mattered. He protected them and stopped at nothing to be there for them. Seeing him take care of his grandfather made my heart smile.
Ava’s character was another plus for me. She was so down-to-earth that I had no trouble understanding her and connecting with her. Her smartass and sarcastic remarks made me giggle a lot while reading too. Her and Zane’s chemistry was one of those that sizzled right off the pages of the book.
With funny, angst-driven, hot, and emotional scenes, DIRTY was a well-rounded book that kept me intrigued from beginning to end. Overall a fantastic story with great characters and a book I recommend! Five stars!

Ok H.J. Bellus, I’m hooked, absolutely hooked! I’m going to be honest here; I’m not a fan of the cover to this book, but damn what a story! They say don’t judge a book by its cover and I’m glad I didn’t. I didn’t know what to expect from this book, but it was good, like hot good, like really really don’t want to put it down good. From the first chapter I was both shocked (in a good way), and found myself needing to know more about this Zane guy. Who he was, what did he do, why isn’t he standing in front of me at this very moment...but I digress, that’s beside the point. If you like that construction worker meets Channing Tatum on a stage type of guy, then you need to meet Zane Rivers, and you need to read Dirty! I have to say, when I first started reading I was thinking, full on erotica, but H.J. Bellus gives you a story with plot twists, suspense and of course love. There’s characters you love and others you love to hate, and then there’s that unexpected pull at the heartstrings. Both Zane and Ava’s chemistry is full on sexy, rebellious, and sweet. A definite must read!

We can all take a lesson from Zane's life .. truth is you don't know how good you really have it until you see or become aware of how bad others have it! It's a harsh reality. Zane makes the best choices that he can with the hand that he's been dealt and all the circumstances that surround him. Zane is a strong man who lacks confidence in himself. Ava is an equally strong woman determined to be the person she wants to be. Ava hasn't known love but she fights to show Zane he's worthy of love. Grandpa is endearing. HJ Bellus has created characters that you welcome into your heart and don't want to let go.
I loved the visual that HJ Bellus created with the description of the chocolate chip pancake breakfast for Zane's bday. OMG
The way that HJ Bellus provided the readers with detailed descriptions of the dancing at the club was like painting a picture for us to drool over!
I felt a range of emotions throughout this book and can't wait to read Rhett and Darby's story.

Wow. That was one seriously hot and emotional books. It started off sizzling hot and once the connection developed between the characters the emotional storyline was incredible. This was the first book I've read by Heidi and I definitely want to dig into more of her books now.
Zane was dealt a crappy hand in life. His parents are in jail for murder. He is watching his grandpa die of cancer before his eyes. He does what needs to be done to take care of the only family he's ever had in life. Yes, that includes stripping and being an escort, but he is trying his best to be the man his grandpa raised him to be. He never questions his work until Ava walks into his life.
Ava grew up with her dad being a politician and her mom being the perfect wife. They wanted her to be the perfect daughter that married a man to further her father's career. She is not having any parts of that. Her parents have basically disowned her for not majoring in a suitable career path. She decides to have fun with her girls for the summer. She has no clue her life is about to get "dirty!"

Yes, this book was dirty, but it was deliciously so. Zane and Ava are a true 'boy from the wrong side of the tracks' love story. Their instant and undeniable chemistry turns into so much more and I found myself rooting for this couple like no other. Zane is a construction worker-slash stripper-slash escort trying to scrape by for his dying grandfather. Ava is the rejected daughter of a politician still hurt from her parent's abandonment.
I laughed, I cried and at one point I threw my kindle and shouted 'NO!' The story hooks you from the first page and you fall in love with every single character over and over. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. The emotions ran rampant and the sex was beyond steamy. If you need sweet, swoony, and super hot, this book is it. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

This was a great book to read, it wasn't anything I was expecting. H.J. Bellus wrote a exceptional story here. We had exciting sex scenes, high class socials and hard working locals. We see what some people will do to earn money to protect the ones they love and what others will do to cover their own backsides in government. When I say I was shocked I was! The love in this story is so strong for the two young people and the love they share for a elderly man... I don't know about you but I cried again yup!

This was all over the place for me. This story was so Insta, over the top storylines, love story cliche one after another, yet I kept reading. I'm contemplating why!?!? I own this ebook along with the next 2 in the series and the next 2 in the spinoff MMA series. So that might have something to do with it!?!? I hate to let all these books just sit and rot on my kindle :)
Zane and Ava - instant attraction. Not sure I felt it though. The first 30% is Zane living his crazed life as a construction worker, stripper and gigolo, while taking the week to fall in love with Ava. Like over the top sleeping with all the old ladies of the town and in dirty detail - it read as bad as it sounds. I think Grandpa and all Zane's baggage tossed in is supposed to balance this insanity. I'm not sure it worked. Yet I kept reading. Didn't love Ava or her baggage storyline either. Yet, these 2 loved each other and managed to collect all the plot thickeners along the way - crazy parents who don't really love her and use her for their political gains. His crazy parents who are in jail, the doting fun Grandpa who is dying...hence the turn to sex for money. the ex showing up, the broken trust thing, nobody loves me for me, pregnancy, rock bottom - exhausting list. Yet here I am contemplating starting book 2 filthy....which is basically round 2 of this mess with Zane's BFF who is also the next town stripper and Gigolo. Help me!
Zane and Ava - instant attraction. Not sure I felt it though. The first 30% is Zane living his crazed life as a construction worker, stripper and gigolo, while taking the week to fall in love with Ava. Like over the top sleeping with all the old ladies of the town and in dirty detail - it read as bad as it sounds. I think Grandpa and all Zane's baggage tossed in is supposed to balance this insanity. I'm not sure it worked. Yet I kept reading. Didn't love Ava or her baggage storyline either. Yet, these 2 loved each other and managed to collect all the plot thickeners along the way - crazy parents who don't really love her and use her for their political gains. His crazy parents who are in jail, the doting fun Grandpa who is dying...hence the turn to sex for money. the ex showing up, the broken trust thing, nobody loves me for me, pregnancy, rock bottom - exhausting list. Yet here I am contemplating starting book 2 filthy....which is basically round 2 of this mess with Zane's BFF who is also the next town stripper and Gigolo. Help me!

Hmm... this one wasn't a favorite of mine.
Zane... I just can't get over the unprotected sex with FOUR women the night before he gets it on with Ava. Eww, eww, ewwwwwww. And then when he admitted he'd probably be with Darby & Rhett if he wasn't with Ava (& he was excited at the idea)... *insert eyeroll here*
Ava... She was a little all over the place. I liked how caring she was & how willing she was to forget Zane's past but I'm just not gaga over the fact that it took her forever to finally make her decision on their future. I don't blame her whatsoever for taking time to think about the crap that was dumped on her but the amount of time was killer.
Overall, it was sexy in parts (that final dance Zane did for Ava was HOT) but there was just too much going on in the story, all the way to the 95% mark. And that incredibly abrupt ending left much to be desired.
Curious to see what happens next in Filthy, which features Darby & Rhett! (And hoping we'll get more Zane & Ava too. I need a better wrap-up for their HEA.)

OMG Meet Magic Mike DIRTY Bad boy Zane
This is the first book I have read by this author & I loved it.
Zane will do anything for his only true family his grandpa who is ill. The house bills and medical bills are racking up. Zane work construction in the day & Strips at night with extras for a lot of extra cash but he feels dirty. He won't date because of feeling dirty. Ava enters his life and things are gonna change for Zane but he needs to let people in to help him. He's protective of the people in his life that he loves and will do anything for them.
Ava goes to stay the summer in her parents holiday home with her bff's. Her friends getting married and they want her to party it up before. Ava has already seen the blond hair blue eyed man up close and personal, she's not keen on his asshole attitude. She never expected he was a male stripper at the club they end up at. She's from a stuck-up family supposed to live by their rules but she wants Zane. She will also do anything for her loved ones.
There are some problem people from their pasts in this book who I hated as much as they did. But the people they love will sink right into your heart.
The book has has happy & sad moments, twists & turns & loads of sex scenes.
But will they be able to test out their story and see if it's a true love story with an Happily Ever After?
The bonus chapter at the end for Filthy is brilliant. I can't wait to read Darby & Rhett's story.

Daddy decides to cut her off when she diverts her parents plans and instead goes to college for journalism. She escaped with her 2 best friends Darby and Chloe to a summer house to prepare for the wedding of Chloe. She's not a rule follower so when she walks in on Zane in the bathroom all thought leaves her leaving her with wanting the bad boy who truly gets her.
Of course what's a relationship without trials. These 2 face enough problems with both pasts coming back to haunt them. But the 2 must overcome them and the advice of grandpa in order to survive this crazy world and find theirselves back to each other.

Ava...beautiful, sweet but sassy, rich daughter of a Senator who is rebelling against the dictates of her cold, unloving parents (from her choices of what to study at college, to who she MUST marry) Ava is in town celebrating the last summer of freedom with her besties, Darby and Chloe and basically having a summer-long bachelorette party!

Ava came from a very wealthy and known family, but all that doesn't make a loving family. From birth she never did anything right in her parents eyes. So what do you do, rebel. Zane had a rough life, parents that are addicts leaving Zane to take care of himself the best a kid could. Then one day his life changes, he is placed with his grandpa and he finds love and trust and what it feels like to be wanted. He life turns upside down when the word cancer is spoken. He is determined to do all he can to keep his Grandpa with him. So how to make quick money you work your self to death doing anything even strip or an Escort. Zane never knew you could connect with the opposite sex or have this strong feeling for a woman other then just sex. But when Ava runs into him there is this major attraction. Can two people from totally different sides of the track be what each other's been looking for without knowing they were looking for it. Their pass will come front and center and will they be able to get through the trouble that they will be confronted with to find their Happy Ever After. This was a Fabulous read.

Dirty by HJ Bellus has to be one of the hottest books I’ve read in a while. This story is a true HEA book.
Zane is just a guy trying to the best he can with the situation he’s been handed. Zane’s grandfather took him in as a child because his parents made a poor decision. Now it’s Zane who is taking care of his grandfather. Ava is a girl straight out of college. She’s expected to follow the path set before her, only that’s not what she wants in life. Ending up in a small town for the summer might have been a huge mistake.
I love Zane. He’s an amazing man, who just wants to do what he can for his grandfather and he’ll do it however he has too. Ava is wise beyond her years. She already understands that she needs to live her life and not the one that others think she should. The way these two fall head over heels in love is magical. Not gonna lie, there are parts that broke my heart, but the love and understanding overcomes that hurt. Like all books by HJ Bellus this story will not disappoint.
