Special Warlash preview. Zombie Mutant Genesis--After a mysterious mutilation death baffles police, Warlash puts himself on the case only to discover evidence of an insidious new threat to the citizens of Pittsburgh; the rise of the Zombie Mutants. Also a preview of the one-shot City, featuring two tales of exciting battle action. " Superior" pitts warlash against a genius foe and his cyborg battle-bot. In "The Generator", Warlash attempts to rescue a girl with special abilities from a diabolical villain.
In the issue 0 of Warlash: Zombie Mutant Genesis, we are introduced to a dystopian future, with dirty cops, gangs of drug addicts, and killers cannibalising their victims, and leaving their guts all over the pavements.
With a familiar air of Judge Dredd, I went into Warlash expecting maybe a three star read, nothing too fancy. I was expecting some crude art work, a hapdash story that relatively made sense but was pretty boring, and just all round, nothing too exciting. However, I was definitely wrong.
The art work in this, is amazing. Alek Sotirovski, Ben Olson and Dwayne Harris have all done wonders in this short comic. The art is smooth, not rough at all, and shows a certain little hint of class. The art totally blew me away, I wasn’t expecting it at first, and I read through this twice, very quickly, appreciating the art more than anything the second time.
The story line in this is very intriguing. Although portrayed as the possible start of a zombie apocalypse, we are shown the very start of it. How, things are happening that are strange, people being eaten alive and then killed – and having the bite marks similar to that of a human, but with fangs instead of teeth. There’s so much about this that really intrigues me, and I definitely want to know more.
For once, a #0 issue hasn’t completely sucked. For once, a #0 issue has totally drawn me in and made me want to buy the comic, and I definitely will be. I will definitely be looking into Warlash and finding out much more about it. I will definitely be looking through the other comic series there are for this one series, and I am definitely, most definitely, interested in this one comic line itself. I definitely recommend this to horror and/or gore lovers!
My city... nothing but a killing field. A breeding ground for death. Flesh torn from the bone. Crater-like sores festering on the skin. I can only imagine the smell. It's going to be one of those weeks.
I knew nothing about Warlash before going into this Free Comic Book Day offering from Amazon Kindle. The start was intriguing, a seemingly gritty Pittsburgh police versus a dangerous virus drama, but it quickly descends into a dystopian scene with Warlash, who reminds a little of Judge Dredd, coming to help out.
Also included are a couple of previews for other Warlash stories. All in all it didn't do enough to make me want to dive in any further.
These seem to have quite alot of action in them. Overall the first part really leave you hanging and makes you want to read more look forward to reading the next one.
AWESOME PLEASE READ If you like comics without paying for more money or renting from the library and you have a amazon account them go to this link https://www.comixology.com and enjoy free or just buy good books for a low price.
I got the free sample with kindle, not the whole go l time. but so far it looks good. Kind of reminds me of batman in a robotic suit with a cool scorpion tail. Drawing is really vibrant and well drawn in my opinion. Not hard to figure out good vs bad characters.
Dystopian future with a hero who looks like judge dread. He has a tail like the marvel supervillain scorpion. The bad guys seem to be sewer dwellers who arose after an earthquake. This one will be worth following.
