God knows I hate these bastards, but with their usual skill DK has once again managed to change a boring or (in this case) even slightly repulsive subject into a deeply informative and - yes - even beautiful book. The patterns and color combinations; the different types of eyes and scales and teeth; the various evolutions into desert/jungle/mountain/ocean dwellers…actually pretty damn fascinating.

(Also - and just my own personal observation - I now have to believe that indigenous weavers around the world were heavily influenced by the geometric patterns found on different snakeskins.)

This book is a stunning guide on teaching you how to take care of these amazing animals. It teaches you everything about Snakes, for example it teaches you what they eat, what enclosure they should be in, and even how their different movements mean. The book also tells you about some unique snake facts, one of the facts are "Did you know that there are over 3000 species of snakes and around 600 of them are venomous!" I highly recommend this book to those who love reptiles and that this book is a perfect guide to having snakes as pets.

This is a stunning guide to follow up on the everything you need to know about snakes book from same publisher. This has a lot of snake photos from all the 18 species and it can be easily used with matching cards to learn snake identification. This is more geared towards kids 8 and older maybe but younger kids who are obsessed with snakes like my 4 year old can flip through gorgeous pictures. Me and my husband learnt a lot while reading this to my son

Great book but my son was disappointed not to see a proper entry for king cobra and one or two other snakes that are his favorites. However a fantastic book on snakes otherwise, very informative with great pictures and design.
