What’s better than a really good fantasy novel?? A really good fantasy novel written by a local author ❤️ I really enjoyed this read, especially the characters, and the potential that was created for the next book. I thought the world building was really interesting, and appreciated the pronunciation of names in the back of the book.
I found that the novel got deeper and more complex towards the end of the novel, which I really enjoyed and kept me hooked. My only critique was that at times the dialogue seemed a bit technical and simple, but overall this was a really sweet and adventurous story that I look forward to following.
Update: I keep thinking about this book, the story has been lingering in my thoughts longer than I thought it would have. Looking forward to reading the next book!

This is an awesome book
I really hope to continue this world because it is ponderous and engaging.
The characters make you feel their feelings and son with their sorrow. I actually had years in my eyes when I read one of the deaths. I can't wait for the next and will follow this author definitely.

A first-class Epic Fantasy with perfect pacing...
Author LeAnn Kelley weaves an Epic Fantasy tale with intriguing twists and turns that will easily captivate the reader’s attention from the beginning. The author paints a world of Elves and Fairies in a very vivid and convincing way. In addition, the characters are drawn with great credibility and conviction. It’s a fast-paced novel that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last.
The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘My world is not like yours. It was once peaceful… beautiful... prosperous... Then the Elves came to power. Now, if that’s not enough to get your curiosity juices flowing, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens, you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself! However, I will say it was well worth the read.
The Tales of Iryvalya: Bloodlines had every element a good story should have. An intriguing plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that’s something I look for in a good book. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling.
I enjoyed the story and dialogue, and there were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book and replaying parts of the novel in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a first-class Epic Fantasy with perfect pacing. Not much is as it appears here, which is just the way fans of Epic Fantasy will want it!
I’m a fan of LeAnn Kelley so this book comes highly recommended and gets a well-deserved five stars from me. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from LeAnn Kelley in the future.

After reading all of the glowing reviews for "The Tales of Iryvalya" I was truly looking forward to reading this book. The overall plot for the book was unique and the characters had a certain charm but the story just droned on and on with endless descriptions and little to no action.
In the land of Iryvalya the Elves are in power and they can be vicious and cruel. So, it came as a shock when Nyrieve discovered on her seventeenth birthday that she is an elf and not a fairy. The magic that covered her true form has dissolved and now she must come to grips with her true heritage and that she is the one that was prophesized to end the war and unite the world in peace. That is of course she is able to survive long enough to do so.
There are endless descriptions of people's hair and eye color, pages regarding a special sauce made by the cook, but little to no action. The conflict is certainly talked about but you never really feel it because so little happens. After reading 48% into the book I realized that my frustration with this read was growing with each page. The dialogues and attitudes of the characters especially were childlike rather than that of a teen. In the end, I was happy to see this book reach its conclusion before I gave up on it totally. Obviously, I will not be going on to the other books in this series.

The dialogue was simplistic and stilted and it was like the characters were just going through the motions and not actually experiencing things. I made it to 11% before realizing that what I disliked just wasn't going to improve.

This genre (Fantasy) isn't what I normally read, but it sounded good so I bought it. I really liked the story, though it was slow in some parts. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.

I only read fantasy here and there but this was a great one! It contained interpretations of mystical beings that are different than what is typical. Vivid details and characters with depth will draw you in, even if you are not a fan of fantasy novels!

Absolutely Love Bloodlines!

The world of Iryvalya. I enjoyed this book a lot. Nyrieve Vynlync (half Pyrothian and half Lumaryia) Elf was an interesting protagonist (The Bringer Of Peace). I enjoyed her growth throughout the story. Finding out she wasn’t a fairy from the beginning was astonishing to me even though she grew up with fairies. Nyrieve had a spirit sister named Kaleyna and they both grew stronger throughout the story. Jehryps…. Oh boy… This entitled elf think he can get away with everything. He’s definitely aggravated me throughout the story. (LeAnne Kelley did a great job creating the antagonist). His infuriating actions made me shake my head and when he got best to a pulp from trying to have his way with Nyrieve it made me smile a lot. I love how Nyrieve created a council of different races which I loved. I love how LeAnn Kelley added abundant of races. Nymphs, Different classes of Elves, Fairies, Nymphs, Gargoyles, Satyr, and Mermaids. I was surprised there weren’t any humans in the world of Iryvayla. I’m glad Nyrieve found her love life Kylyan which I’m glad she’s finally happy and not alone.
As a nonfiction reader I found this book when I bumped into LeAnn Kelley at Comic Con. I wanted to take a break from reading nonfictional books since I’m currently burnt out from them. I stumbled upon LeAnn Kelley’s table when I was trying to browse through fictional books to read by giving it a chance. I’m glad I got to meet her. Can’t wait to read her second book Crossroads.

I met this author at ComicCon in Grand Rapids. After taking to her and hearing the premise about her books, I decided to buy them. The author is a wonderful story teller, and makes you keep reading. I don't know how she did it, maybe elf or fairy magic, but I could actually feel the emotion of the main character, especially when she got mad at another character. I would definitely recommend this book.

I was given this book from a friend to read. I was hesitant at first (I do not normally read fantasy books), I was blown away by how much I enjoyed the story. The book takes place in a different world with a refreshingly different interpretation of fantasy creatures we have all read about before.
The author gave vivid descriptions of the world and other characters. I think this would be a very interesting world to see on the big screen one day, though like most books turned into movies, I don't know if they would be able to really portray all the unique features.
This again was a surprise read for me. I think it can be enjoyed by many, even if fantasy is not your genre of choice. Give it a try, I even purchased my own digital copy!

I really enjoyed this book. This fantasy novel definitely has a bit of a new twist on the typical fairy tale creatures we usually think about. The descriptions in the novel allowed me to feel as if I could actually see what the main character Nyrieve was seeing. I cannot wait to read the sequel and see what is in store for the world of Iryvalya and Nyrieve. I highly recommend this book to anyone!

Lose yourself in a realm of Fae, Dark Elves, Nymphs and Pixies. One a glorious land, until two rival groups of Elves plunge it into a centuries long war. But there is a prophecy about a half-blood Elf who can bring peace to the land. The MC is an orphan named Nyrieve. There are whispers that she is the one the prophecy foretells but as her fate becomes intertwined with the Elven lands does she have it in her to rise up and fulfil the prophecy, and does she even want to? These aren’t your bedtime story elves. These guys are greedy and willing to go to war over it. This is a interesting spin on the fantasy tales of Fae and Elves. Sometimes the dialogue was a little choppy but the plot kept things interesting and ready for the sequel!

I don't read a lot of fantasy, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to support my friend by reading her debut novel. I loved that LeAnn gives readers a strong female lead character who isn't perfect, but works to let her actions and choices be the outward manifestation of her inner strength. If you're looking to slip away to a creative, new world of elves and magyc, definitely give this a read.

This is a colorfully written fun read. The female main character in the Lord Of The Rings-esque story line is an interesting twist on a familiar theme. In full disclosure a friend of mine wrote this book.
