4 Stars.....I'm going with this rating for now,a few hours after finishing it.

First read by this Author and I definitely want to read more.I loved the writing, the story sucked me in right from the beginning.

The book opens one night in Boston.....

Nick sees Josh (his high school crush )accross the room and knows he has to have him.
Phew!! that first encounter between them is so hot and erotic. As far as Nick is concerned it's a one time thing. All he wants is a taste of him *coughs*.
But fate throws them together.Josh is starting work as a Graduate at the college Nick attends.

These two men are complete opposites.
Nick is hip, cool, quirky and definitely not looking for any kind of relationship.
Josh was the ultimate poster boy in high school.Gorgeous, popular, knows exactly what he wants out of life and is definitely looking for a relationship.
So the game begins with Josh wanting more and Nick trying to hold back. The sexual chemistry between them was so damn hot.The sex scenes are well written and not too drawn out.I loved each of them individually but together they were just perfect.

This was a definite 5 Stars until I got to the final third when one of them completely over reacted to something which I thought could have been resolved through talking and the ending was a bit predictable.

Overall, though,I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend.

I absolutely LOVED this one, even though I hadn't read either of the first two books in the series. (If there were references to any previous characters, they were so subtle that I never even noticed them.)

It had 2 very lovable MC's, some snark, lots of character development, just enough back-story on Nick's past crush on Josh and Nick's bullying, plus some pretty steamy love scenes (uhh, hawt!) and what I considered to be the very strong start to an HEA.

As I figured, once "the big reveal" of Nick's ugliest secret happened, they do break up (for a time,) no shocker there, but it was so much fun seeing Nick work through many of his issues and prove to Josh that he's worth being given second chance to be the person they both know that Nick can be for Josh. And for himself.

As another reader mentioned in their review, I too feel that a more apt title for the book would have been "Unraveling Nick," as it was Nick who was more of a puzzle to be unraveled by Josh versus the other way around.

Nick was the "moody-broody, Cocky Kid," who screwed around and didn't answer to anyone as the story began, after all. Josh was much more "what you see is what you get," so not tons of 'unraveling' to do there, really.

I was completely sold on the whole "Josh lives in a stone tower" deal, but the part at the end with the Prince and Knight role playing, ugh, NO, I thought that was flat out silly and made my eyes roll clean up in my skull, repeatedly.

But I'd still give it a solid 4.75 stars and strongly recommend this one.

This book is not so much about unraveling Josh as it is about fixing Nick, or rather Nick fixing himself.

I had a hard time with Nick for the first half of the book, maybe longer. He was so prickly and standoffish, so closed off. Josh calls him "moody-broody," but that doesn't quite cover it.

Nick is edgy and mean, constantly reminding Josh that they can't be exclusive, that he can't (won't) commit. And this is all while Josh is laying his heart out on a platter, just begging Nick to love him back.

Nick and Josh knew each other in high school, or rather, Nick knew Josh, idolized Josh, fantasized about Josh. Nick was a geeky, skinny kid with glasses who read poetry and sucked at soccer. Josh was a walking wet dream, and nice to boot.

Now Nick wears his piercings and tats like armor, and Josh can't break through, no matter how hard he tries.

While Nick's insecurity and moodiness were frustrating, the short flashbacks showed the bullying he went through in high school and helped me understand where he was coming from. When Josh asks Nick what he's getting out of playing the field, scoring guys' asses on a hotness scale, Nick doesn't have an answer.

I loved the scenes of Nick and Josh in Josh's "castle" (he really does live in a tower on campus). I liked the friendships Nick cultivates with his roommates at the Vegan House (where Nick lives, even though he isn't vegan and hates carrot fucking terrine).

Nick survives a friend's betrayal (fucking Pete was the worst friend EVER; I wanted to kick his arse into next week) and peels back his layers one by one, finally leaving himself open and vulnerable.

In the end, this book really won me over. It's utterly romantic, insanely sexy (so much hot and tender exploration, plus Nick's rather impressive *ahem* assets), super sweet (that epilogue and Nick's "surprise" did me in!), and REAL.

Unraveling Josh is about a kind prince, his valiant knight, mean ogres, challenges of the heart, kisses that mean something, and a very happy ever after.

4.5 Stars!

I was torn about whether to round up or down. But ultimately I devoured the shit out of this book so 5 stars it is.

And really overall, this was a 5 star read. The only deductions being for the drama that hit around 70%.

I hate senseless drama, manufactured drama, drama caused from withholding information, miscommunication drama, all drama.

But I was prepared for this drama. So maybe that helped. Doesn't mean I liked it. But I got over it.

The writing was good. Really good. And I was just so drawn to both Nick and Josh from the very first pages.

I mean my stomach was just in knots reading. Things are building and building between Nick and Josh but there's this secret, this unknown element that once it's known will change everything.

I didn't want things to change. I wanted Nick to let go of his past. I wanted him to open up to Josh. I wanted them to be in love.

Yeah, yeah...wake up and smell the roses...that's not life.

Ugh, I mostly blame Pete. He was a selfish dick. And yeah, I think Josh probably over-reacted. But maybe Nick just wasn't quite ready for Josh.

Luckily things didn't drag out and more than anything I wanted Josh and Nick to be together.

So 5 stars for me....because, Josh and Nick. I just loved them so much!

.5 deduction for the drama llama that briefly rode through town!

I was completely unprepared for the knock out hit I took here.
It probably won’t make sense to you, but to me what happened means a lot because I am not a normal reader. I cannot go blind in a book. I am a freaky lead in a leash by my mood, The Beast.
I can only read what my mood is craving for. And this is why I ended up so impressed by this story.

So there I was, reading blurbs and more blurbs with my mood whispering “light and fun, Jan. You had read enough dirty and sick stuff in the last few weeks” when I suddenly came across Unraveling Josh. I've read keys words like: high school crush, hooks up, bad boy, prince, rules, game and…. Clicked it!

Well, shit got real pretty soon. Gone was the light and fun and I, people, at this point, was so engrossed with Nick and Josh that I shamelessly cheated on my mood. Kidding To be completely fair I must admit: the author tamed the beast with an engaging writing style, well-crafted characters and a captivating story line.

The story is told in dual POV’s, during the Present and it gives us a few glimpses of both guys lives 6 years prior. Nick and Josh.

In this glimpses we learned that Nick was bullied, humiliated and treated like shit at school.
He had a really rough time especially in middle school when cliques were forming and kids started judging. Dammit! How kids can be so cruel?

Josh, a few years older than Nick was Mr Brilliant Jock College Student. Way out of Nick’s league and his fantasy.

Nick and Josh had been face to face just once and it was a very awkward encounter with Nick completely freaking out with his insecurities. Thanks to all the bullying at school.

This boat sails.

Six years have passed. Nick grew into a beautiful, confident guy and saw Josh at a party.

Josh:

Not his style at all.
However, his attention had been grabbed and he couldn't stop staring.

I loved Josh! He was utterly fearless about showing his feelings, open, caring, serious, with a beautiful heart.

Nick was a serious manwhore with a natural compelling charm and well known for his whore-ish style.

Their chemistry? Scorching hot. Swoooon!!

And then I remember how his eyes had fixed on my mouth.

I’d know exactly what he’d been thinking about. Sex. Kissing, sucking, tonguing, biting, licking – any and all of that stuff.

I had so many feelings reading this book. Warm fuzzy feelings, butterfly feelings, angry feelings, sweet feelings, hot feelings and I could go on and on ....... but if you are still reading the longest review of my life, you must be bored out of your mind and I need to end this torture.

NOT angst-free and therefore it's not for all.

3.5 stars!

I've been in an M/M mood lately and this one came up on KU. Since I recently read 2 others by this author and enjoyed them I decided to give this a whirl. A great college romance between a former jock and a moody-broody guy. There's a lot more to it than that but I just wanted to say I enjoyed reading this a lot and want to explore more from this author.

So I read Unraveling Josh on a whim after a trusted reading buddy loved it (thank you, Ms. Nookie). Lately, books that I purchase I don't often review or of I do- it's a super quick: loved it or didn't. Unraveling Josh though forced me because I adored it! It's so well written and full of feeling it makes me want to shout how much I enjoyed it and recommend it to everybody.

In this story, we have Josh and Nick. They grew up in the same town but due to their age difference and interests didn't move in the same circles. But that didn't stop Nick from having a huge crush on Josh during his teen years. Josh was loved by all for being a great guy and athlete. Sadly Nick's experience in school was different than Josh's. Fast forward years later and the two meet again by chance.

What I loved:

-JOSH!!!! I love you!!!! There are many adjectives to describe him: sweet, adorable, genuine, caring, and sexy. This man was the COMPLETE package.
-Nick. You know, yes he was immature, but I forgave him. He made some mistakes- but don't we all? And more importantly- he learned from them. I think he could get a bad rap from some readers understandably so, but I have nothing but love for him. The most important thing to me is that he did have a kind heart. He's a good guy that just needed to find his way. In fact, this book should be called Unraveling Nick instead.
-Alternating POVs- my favorite!
-Relationship development was excellent!
-Flawless pace. I was worried at first when I saw the page count, but the story just got better and better as it progressed. It didn't feel like a 400-page book. At. All.
-The angst. Yes, there was drama but-
1. It was expected
and
2. It was handled superbly.
-Excellent chemistry between Josh and Nick- in the bedroom but most importantly out of it, too.
-The end. LOVED it! ♥

**I do want to add a side note about Pete (Nick's friend). I borderline hated him, but I'm dying for a book about his character! I'm praying he gets his story next!!

As far as this being a part of a series- can it be read as a standalone? Yes, I haven't read the previous books and never felt lost.

I initially rated this book 4.5 Stars, but as I type this, I find myself reliving the story and getting all amped up. I'm increasing it to a full five. Any book that can cause me to lose sleep, struggle not to cry in public, and leave me happy deserves all the stars! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

***3 Stars***

Looks like I'm in the minority....yet again. Almost all of my friends loved this book.

This book started out great and I was completely enthralled with Josh and Nick, but little by little as this overly long story progressed, they lost my interest. BUT, I do want to say that even though this story was too long winded for me, the writing is fantastic!

Nick was the ugly and awkward duckling who was bullied in school for being different. Josh was the older school jock that everyone adored. Josh had already graduated by the time Nick started high school, but he was the town's pride and joy...and Nick's every wish come true.

Nick and Josh meet in present day (6 years later) and the new and confident Nick has the opportunity to fulfill one of his childhood fantasies...a night with Josh. Unfortunately, Josh doesn't remember him, but that's okay because Nick just wants one night of living the dream.

Feelings get involved, secrets are swept under the rug and Nick and Josh find themselves falling in love. And in the middle of all this, the story is sprinkled with flashbacks of their younger years showing what each man was going through when during one fateful summer their lives intersected.

My biggest problem with this book....pacing. I'm sorry, but it was just too damn long. I didn't need the side story of Kelsey and her abusive relationship, I didn't need the info about the frat boys and parties on campus...I didn't need all the additional information added that had nothing to do with the main plot or moving the story forward.

What I needed was more flashbacks showing me more of what Nick went through in high school, because what little we were given wasn't enough to connect me to the man he tried to be in present day. I wasn't as moved by his vulnerability and wasn't sold with how much his life was impacted by the bullying.

And Josh? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too perfect. Way too nice. Way too sweet. Way too much of every positive adjective you can think of.

The story is supposed to be a play on a fairytale. The ugly duckling gets his Prince Charming. I just don't think the author achieved the level of emotion she was going for.

Even when the drama llama showed up, I had to roll my eyes at the exaggeration of it all.

But I am one of few who didn't fall in love with this book, so please don't listen to my jaded ass. You never know...it might be your next five star.

I'm hoping we get a book for Austin. He really captured my attention. I'm a sucker for a conflicted and tortured hero with asshole tendencies. #sorrynotsorry.

Reread of a favorite

Original review:
~A new-to-me author who gets 5 stunning stars and who shoots to my favorites of 2016 shelf!~

This book was so evocative in its simplicity. I was gobsmacked. After reading the blurb and seeing reviews, I thought this would be a fun story about two guys in their twenties, one a manwhore who gets the chance to hook up with his childhood crush, and the other - said childhood crush. The manwhore would change his ways, and BOOM....HEA, right? Yeah, no.

There were subtle twists to this story. Completely realistic twists. Nothing felt manufactured, and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

Nick is our tattooed and pierced bad boy. He has a "persona." He's a charismatic player - which he's very up front about. Josh is six years his senior and basically Captain America. He's the all-American jock, he volunteers, and he doesn't have a "player" bone in his body. He's never had a one-night stand.

Sounds clichéd, right? I can't describe why this book was the furthest from a "trope" that it could be. But I'm gonna try. Everything about this book was an onion. So many layers to be peeled. First off, its told in alternating first person, past tense POV (my favorite and so rare these days).

The character development was done so unbelievably well. Josh and Nick are both fleshed out so spectacularly. There wasn't a move they made or a thought they had that I didn't feel or experience right along with them. This author nailed it!

And the relationship development - amazing! So damn realistic. No doormat behavior. Open communication (eventually - and when it counted). There was the perfect amount of angst too! I was left with leaky eyes three times! THREE! I'm not even a crier! But holy shit, my poor heart. I love it when an author can tear my heart out and put it back together so well. Nailed it again!

The steam level was great - these two burn up the sheets together, as men in their twenties should. But I have to comment on the epilogue. I adore them, gotta have them, get giddy when there is one. But this is hands down one of the best epilogues I have ever read. It was so poignant and meaningful. No Big Gay Wedding in sight, people. It was just so.....sigh. I got leaky eyed again.

I don't want to say anything about the story itself because you just need to read it. Now. Immediately.

I feel the burning need to purchase Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. I've never been a fan of poetry. I think I am now.

I actually liked it more this time. So why not round up to 5 stars?
.................
*4.5 stars*

Plotwise, I didn't exactly love this story as much as everybody else did, although I really, really liked it. What I did love was the writing. I 've never read anything else by this author, so it took me by surprise. The writing is superb! Effortless, evocative, it speaks right to your soul. I will definitely read more by Edie Danford.

I adored Josh. I liked Nick too, although I can't make excuses for what he did, no matter how forgiving I am with YA/NA characters. It requires a special kind of assholiness IMO, and being bullied in high school is not an excuse.

BUT he went above and beyond to redeem himself, and the "thing" took place before he developed feelings for Josh. And Josh, on the other hand, should have let him explain.

TONS of feels here, especially in the last 30%. Crazy chemistry between the MCs and the most perfect ending.

Very highly recommended.

Unraveling Josh is one of those books that just sucks you in and doesn't let go. And though the title indicates that it is Josh who will be unraveled, as some of my fellow reviewers have pointed out, it is Nick that really comes undone here. I was thoroughly smitten from the first scene, even though Nick was pretty much a player. There was something vulnerable about him that I couldn't quite place yet, that just made me keep right on reading.

Josh is from the same home town that Nick is from and was Nick's first crush. The flashback interactions between Josh and Nick were sweet and bittersweet and I loved seeing what a genuinely nice guy Josh was. It's really lovely when the jock isn't an asshole to the geek.

Through at least the first part of the book, it is Josh who seems to be more vulnerable, but no, it is really Nick who holds that title. Josh wears his emotions on his sleeve, so his vulnerability is simply more obvious. Nick, though, is kind of damaged and in denial about it. He wears his cocky, confident persona like one of his tattoos. It's like it's a part of him, but it's just surface. In reality, he is a scared boy. Scared that no one will ever find him worthy. Scared that Josh won't. So Nick hides behind sex and seduction so that he doesn't have to face his fears.

Josh has fears and insecurities of his own, too. He doesn't see himself as beautiful and he doesn't really think he's worth all the trouble it might be to really be with him. He's good at sports and he's good at academics, but he has limited experience when it comes to sex. Josh has always been kind of afraid to take chances but Nick sets him free. Makes him feel safe enough to try things that he's been too afraid to try, before. And he loves that he and Nick can actually have a conversation.

I just loved this story! I knew what the big conflict was going to be and I saw it coming before it hit, so it was no surprise to me that it tore them apart. That was actually a good thing, though, because it forced Nick to reevaluate how he had been living his life and really figure out where he wanted to be and how to get there. Finally, Nick recognized that he needed to work on himself, so that's what he does. I was so proud of Nick for that.

There's a lot of character development in Unraveling Josh that I was so grateful for. And a lot of very hot sex, which the perv in me very much loved. But that character development was crucial to my enjoyment of their story and it's top notch. The book ends with a solid HFN for Nick and Josh, too, (I can almost never call a New Adult book ending HEA, because of the ages of the MC's) and I thought it was a sweet sweet HFN.

Recommended!

Nick and Josh. Not an ordinary read at all. Full of emotions. Honesty from one and not open at some points by the other
A beautiful heartbreaking story. Two great souls
Nick traumatized by some awful things from his youth living his life with an sex minded attitude as a grownup.
He had an crush on Josh from were he was just a boy. But being a few years younger they met just once.
Josh, beautiful honest Josh.
When Nick, unrecognizable as a grownup, sees Josh after several (six) years, he thinks he may have a chance for just a hot one night stand with him. And goes for it.
Josh falls deep for Nick and is open, honest about all his feelings. Nick struggles with his own attitude and old wounds.
It runs so different that you would expect. A really touching story with layers.
I had deep respect for both men they rise above themselves. They touched my heart really deep.
The whole story, including the side characters, is very well put together. Really a #mustread
The finale was very overwhelming it made me cry emotional happy tears. It was perfect.

"If you've gotta be all Cinderella, hit up the footman who turns into a horse instead of boring Prince Whatshisname."

Starting from the first scenes (and the sorta awkwardness of Nick and Josh's first time together), this one felt different and unique to me. There's something about both Josh and Nick that I could relate too. Sure, Josh seems like the perfect golden boy to Nick (smart, athletic, popular and out from an early age) but he wasn't completely perfect. He was awkward and inexperienced with sex and somewhat insecure with relationships which just made him seem relatable to me.

Nick had some bad experiences with bullying in high school and his defence mechanism was to essentially become a tattooed sex god. No relationships. No chance of getting hurt. He wanted to leave the past in the past and I got why.

Nick had a huge crush on the older Josh in high school. When they meet several years later, Nick takes the chance he's given to make his moves on Josh (who doesn't recognize Nick). It was just going to be a one-night stand but then it turns out Josh is going to be doing graduate work at Ellery College where Nick's a sophomore. There's still an attraction between the two but there's something more too. These guys are intellectual equals with interests in the same areas. They could really have something together. But Josh is looking for a relationship and Nick's not into relationships. Besides, Nick knows, because of his own past, that he's not good enough for Josh. They do start something that could become good but of course history has to get in the way ...

This was my first full-length novel by this author and I was very much pulled in by her writing style. It was written in alternating first person POV which is a favourite for me. I also loved the way she wove a fairy tale theme into the story, including having Josh live in a tower ...
"Yeah." He cleared his throat like maybe his Cocky Kid rasp was failing him. "Actually, I'm not looking forward to winding my way back down to reality. Leaving this place is like leaving ..."
"Like leaving a fairytale before you know the ending?" I supplied.
"Yeah." His smile was on the sad side. "Yeah. that's it exactly." He shot me a floppy peace sign-yep, his goodbye sucked as badly as his rejection-and left.

Overall, I loved the feel of this. It's melancholy at times but, like any good fairy tale, there's some sweetness too and, of course, there is a happy ending ...
"What are you thinking about? he asked, grinning up at me, his fingers absently stroking the tattoo on my neck. "Love that smile."
"I'm thinking about happily ever after," I told him.
He raised his eyebrows. "Well, you know what they say about happily-ever-afters."
"What?"
"They start with this..."
He pulled me down for a kiss.

3.5 stars! This was a great story of self discovery and meeting Mr. Right. I love reading stories with college age MCs. It's one of the biggest learning curves in life and college students or recent grads always have emotional stories to tell.

This book had more than a few typos and maybe too many sex scenes, but it was a lovely coming of age story.

Yes, I still felt the same way. I liked it, but the wasn't my favorite part.

------------------

3.5 stars

I liked this more than I thought I would. And it was a solid 4 star read, right until the

I really liked how Nick was this nerdy, unpopular kid in high school and was now known as the cocky guy with the big… uhm.. feet? He is now tattooed, pierced and wants nothing more than to get all the hot guys on campus to bottom for him.

When he sees his old high school crush, Josh, he just knows he has to have him. But although Josh is a jock, he is also shy and insecure, oh and a total butt virgin. Oh yeah!

When these two meet sparks fly. Josh decided to try to loosen up and Nick always wanted Josh, so the two spend a great night filled with hand job and blow jobs. Nick just knows he won’t see his childhood fantasy again, just how he prefers with his hookups.

But the two meet again a couple of days later, when they find out Josh is a new TA at the college Nick goes to. Josh has no trouble being honest about his feelings, so he tells Nick he would love to see him again. Nick makes it clear he doesn’t want a relationship, nor does he want to be exclusive. But Nick didn’t count on his feelings for Josh.

Things start to go awry when a close friend of Nick comes to visit and blurts out the truth.

I loved how Nick was all bad boy and telling Josh they couldn’t be exclusive, while he was so obviously falling for him and was not having sex with other guys from the moment they met.

And I loved Josh’s honesty and how he was never afraid to show (or tell) Nick his feelings. And him being this popular jock, yet so shy…. oh yes, just adorable.

But I do hate break ups in my books. But these guys didn’t have some big fight. They talked, and feelings were hurt. I got where both of them were coming from. And I liked how Nick was not giving up on them even after some time.

Overall, I did like this. The relationship was sweeter than I expected and even the angst at 70% was doable. The break up felt real and not fabricated (and there was no yelling, thank God), so I guess that’s why I still ended up enjoying it.

This book is SO awesome!

In Unraveling Josh, Edie Danford tells a story that is totally sexy; but it pulls you in, traps your heart and your attention until the very last page.

Nick is a total manwhore. He had a rough time in high school with bullies. He became a target because he was gay, but also because he was a bit different. He liked books and art and didn't run with the super popular crowd. He doesn't let anyone close to his heart - his painful past made him not want to become vulnerable to anyone.

Josh is from the same hometown and high school as Nick, but he is a few years older. Josh was Nick's crush forever, unbeknownst to him. He is an athlete, but he is also a genuinely nice guy.

When Nick sees Josh at a party, he totally wants to score with his teenage crush. But he doesn't reveal that he knows Josh from years ago. It's only going to be a hookup.

Yea. You know how that goes.

What I love about this book:
~ The writing. Seriously love this author. I was hooked quickly and became so invested in these characters. I wanted them to have a HEA.
~ Josh. Seriously such an amazing character. He's sexy, he's complicated, but he's genuine. He's kind. He doesn't play games and says what he feels. He knows Nick is not his normal type but he can't stop thinking about him and he wants.. to get to know him better. And to be with him more. and he is SO patient with Nick.
~ Nick. I love watching the growth of this character. We have all acted in ways that we are not proud of. But it's how you find yourself and become true to yourself that really counts.
~ The chemistry. Even though Nick and Josh are an unlikely pair, they have SUCH amazing chemistry.
~ The feels. This book made me feel SO many things!!!

Bottom line: I'm in so much love with Nick and Josh.

Edie Danford is going on my auto buy list!!!

Highlights:

"Don't be with me because of the way I look... Be with me because of me. See me. See me."

"I want you. All of you." I stepped toward him. "Your c@ck and your arms and your ankles and shoulders and ears and toes..." ..... "To share."..... "And your thoughts. I want those to share too."

"I love you," I told him. "I want you here with me. Sharing my heart and my body. In the forever kind of way."

4 Stars
This was the kind of story I really enjoy, with great characters and a good amount of steam. I was pulled right into it, and was easily invested in what was happening. Nick was by far my favorite, I loved the arc his character went through and I loved all of his different sides. He really stole my heart by the end of the story. Where this book lost a star for me was in the endless build up to the very predictable turn. I just found myself thinking, alright let's get on with it, I easily tire of this lull waiting for something to happen. But that issue aside, I really found this book enjoyable and rate it 4 solid stars.

Dissenting opinion : the reviews are great, so it must be a case of “it’s me, not the book”. I struggle to finish it as nothing could really hold my interest, neither the characters, nor their relationship.
Many reasons for that. There’s a pile of relationships with secondary characters and facts that I felt were thrown there but not developed at all, like Nick’s bullying when in high school and then the way the abused became the abuser, the damaging use of social media,…Then the relationship between Nick and Josh : so unrealistic between their play of prince and knight, the student and the TA, the so-called redemption of Nick (shaving his head or not using a phone,…) and so on... And the writing : I couldn’t get any coherence as if each chapter was referring to new characters.
Didn’t work for me.

*** A new author for me and the sex scenes are hot ! ***
Josh, 26, is the desired object

of Nick since they were younger.
Nick, 24, they went to the same high school, and now years later he sees Josh at a party.
Both men are in different stages of getting to their goals;
Nick is a sophomore,

and Josh, an undergrad. Nick has changed and Josh doesn't recognize him.
I was not onboard with Nick keeping the secret and seducing Josh. They got together often and make out a lot. Josh is so nice, shy, and has some hang-ups. Nick nearly appears as a predator, but the inserts from high school days help us to understand the feelings. The stories give us the insights to Nick's influences as he was growing up. We hear how the bullies made life horrible, be he's tried to overcome, hardened.
We see Nick and Josh becoming close and happy together.

There are some old friends who nearly ruin everything. It has a large cast of varied characters, an interesting story and we feel the need for Nick to tell Josh the secret, but there are a few.
There is a lot of hot loving !
ENJOY !

This was a great romantic story. I hadn't read this author's books before, but now I plan on reading more of them, because this book was so well written and so were the characters. At first, I really loved Josh's character the most, but by the end I loved Nick's just as much. There was lots of humor, some angst and at the end was a sweet HEA.

I hovered around 4-4.5 stars for this, and then I remembered Todd Johnson. 5 stars.

This book is just so good!!! Josh is like the perfect guy. So sweet, so humble, so kind, so gorgeous. But I have a real soft spot for Nick. Oh Nick, I love you! I'll admit, I didn't really get him at first. I didn't really understand what he was doing and what he was all about. But the arc he goes through! I loved seeing him grow and change and embrace love and become a better person. So romantic. I really believe in these two.

And the epilogue - gah! I died.

Go read this book. I'm-a go read that epilogue again...

Well written book with dual POV and flasbacks to the MCs' pasts.
I loved that the characters were well developed and that Nick grows in the story. I agree with other reviews that the title should have been about Nick, since the personal growth is mostly his. Josh's growth is more sexual than personality-wise. He's pretty constant in his behavior and values throughout the book, even when he is in his early 20's.
A good book about love, second chances and friendships (new and outgrown ones).
Highly recommend.

I loved this book. Josh and Nick are both perfect - their chemistry was real and incredibly hot, and I loved every minute that they spent together building something special out of what Nick only expected to be a one night stand with his teenage fantasy. This was my first book by this author - I did not read any of the previous two books in the series, but this felt like a standalone.

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

Five stars for Josh and Nick

This book is the first book I have read from this author, it will not be the last!
I loved it! It took me out of a reading funk! Yay!!! is so very well written, the story goes fluidly, it has the perfect amount of angst, romace and funny moments, the character development is flawless ! Enough to say I love love loved it!!!
Josh Palhke is "the man" it has been this way since forever and a true kind guy more like a modern times prince, when he sees this attractive boy at a party he feels compelled to accept his invitation to a hotel room, after a very sexy encounter he keeps thinking about the cockiest guy he ever meet and the fact that this guy didn't even give him his name...
Nick McQueen is a player, He doesn't do relationships. He is attractive, sexy, he knows it and knows how to used it to have under his spell the guys he wants, the way he wants which is just to play for a little while, so when he find his high school big crush, the school dreamy prince, on a party he knows he can have him at least for that night and make reality his high school romantic dream...but when he found out that his prince is back at his old college- the same college that Nick attending everything get complicated.
Josh and Nick love story is the kind of stories that have me reading romance, I love the way the author described feelings and how real and relatable they are, I recommend this book. Is a funny modern romance fairy tale and I'm off now to read Edie's previous books on this series !
