Roman gladiators and the ravenous undead clash in this thrilling 'sword & sandal' zombie apocalypse.
Lanista Laeca is the master of a gladiator school in Rome that has fallen on hard times. His business of providing skilled fighters for the Coliseum has begun to fail, and he is desperate to find a new spectacle of glory and battle to please the bloodthirsty crowds. He finds his answer in the cannibal corpse creatures brought to him from a distant land by a retired soldier, and soon the gladiators of House Laeca are being pitted against ravenous beasts that once were men. Will sword and shield win victory over tooth and claw?
Sean-Michael Argo is an author and independent film producer from the backwood swamps of Arkansas. He writes the kinds of books he likes to read and makes the kinds of movies he likes to watch, so his expanding body of work is a testament to his love of gritty urban fantasy, epic tales of swords & sorcery, horror movies, and the post-apocalyptic wasteland. His films are available on Amazon and presented by Dark Roast Releasing. He spends his time traveling the country for work, making art, and raising his son.
Argo’s strength is the creative turn he takes. The origin isn’t a virus and there’s no uncontrolled zombies knocking out windows to tear into victims. The origin story is creative, logical and honorable in its own way. Instead of weakly flailing and running from the threat, the undead are weaponized for profit. There is a strong feeling of authenticity throughout the 164 page work. In back checking a few things, it’s clear the amount of knowledge and research that Argo poured into the work.
