The love story of Lucy and James that we adored in ‘Destiny’s Foreshore’ continues in this must read second instalment ‘Destiny’s Hollywood.’ Lucy knew dealing with James’ Hollywood lifestyle was never going to be easy. He wasn’t a movie star when they knew each other as teenagers but now he is one of the biggest celebrities on the planet. How does a mum of three girls from a small Australian town deal with being thrust into a world of internet gossip, paparazzi and bodyguards? How does she deal with rumours that make her question everything she thought she knew about the love of her life? She deals the only way she knows how, by over-analysing all the details, having deep and meaningful conversations with her brother who is no love expert and chats with her best friend. Despite all these avenues Lucy constantly feels out of step with the Hollywood lifestyle and doesn’t know if loving James will be enough to keep her sanity. James knew bringing Lucy and her girls into his lifestyle was going to be a challenge. He’s dealt with being famous for twenty years and has never hated any part of it until now. He hates that Lucy has to deal with paparazzi, he hates that she has to navigate her way through the minefield of internet rumours and he hates that she has questioned their relationship. He loves her more than he’s ever loved anyone, always has, always will. From the first moment he laid eyes on her at the theme park when they were teenagers, he knew she was special, he knew one day they’d have their forever. His career and all the negative aspects that came with it were now threatening their love and he couldn’t let that happen. He could see her buckling under the pressure on a daily basis. He would do anything to ensure her happiness but does that mean giving up the job he’s poured his heart and soul into for two decades? Will he be forced to choose between the two great loves of his life?
Mel Woodall loves her cliffhangers! Just as much as I loved Destiny's Hollywood. Mel takes us to Hollywood for this second instalment of the Destiny Series, following the next stage in Lucy and James' relationship, where they are trying to find their feet under the gaze of the world's media and Lucy's 3 daughters. I was drawn in and stayed there until I finished the book. Well done Mel ! Looking forward to Book 3.
