The idea of Biblical surrender is commonly misunderstood in the modern Church. Seen as something merely emotional or external, many Christians approach surrender in a way that only results in a temporary aesthetic change. This book details both God's sovereign work and the personal responsibility necessary for God-glorifying dependence at the heart level. It is designed to help the reader discover how surrender can be more than a one-time experience; it can be a way of life. Discover the art of surrender.
True, timely and convicting. Written in a simple, somewhat conversational style (I believe I saw this author has experience as youth pastor.). However, this addresses one of the most serious and important issues for every human being. I appreciate this book and can see myself coming back to my highlights in the future.
Great short read but don’t let the length fool you it is very challenging and worth the read! A good Sunday afternoon read by the fire with a good cup of coffee!
A thoughtful, well-written book that gets straight to the heart of a Christian's surrender to our Lord. I appreciated the many Scripture references, and the emphasis that letting go of self and bringing our hearts under Christ's control is an inward process, and one that is ongoing. A great read to challenge teens and adults. There is a powerful amount of Scriptural truth packed into this little book!
I gave this book a five because not only did Summers explain what surrender is but how to do it. If like Paul you desire to live for God but the battle within is real and vicious, read this book and get on the path to victory.
