I like Em and Letty. They're realistic and their stories are believable. Frankie is real too, but for a thirty-year-old in 2016 (when the book came out), I think she's too sexually naive. Especially so when she has friends like the more worldly Letty and Em. And there already exists this little thing called the Internet.
My rating is actually closer to a 3.5 because the author addresses the types of issues that real women go through, including sexual harassment and being overlooked at work because she's a woman. Frankie suffers from an inferiority complex, which is quite heartbreaking. She manages to overcome it with the help of the wonderful Floyd, who doesn't only give her sex education lessons but also shows her she doesn't need to feel inadequate in other matters simply by the way he treats her.
There are subplots about the families of each of the women that are also delightful.
